Allow us to choose between "Active minutes" or "Active zone minutes"

Please include a data field for real time active minutes, an essential metric you took away to replace with Active Zone Minutes or be able to choose which I want to see. I had to return my Charge 4 because it was missing this info. I just need a field that tells me how many total real minutes in a day I spent in active heart range. I cannot use active zone minutes in the same way.

Hi @Tb7782, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see active minutes in your Inspire 2. We appreciate your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request. I think that a lot of users would like to have this option on their Fitbit devices. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

@Odyssey13 Thank you for adding your comment. There is more information about this here: How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

Thank you again for your participation in the Feature Suggestions Forums.

Really disappointed to lose active minutes. After 5 years with Fitbit I will be returning my new Charge 4 and switching to an Apple Watch. The only reason I have an activity tracker is for steps and active minutes. I do not care about tracking minutes with specific heart rates.

@Odyssey13  Yes, I’m aware of that, which is why I  said above that I wear mine on a clip, clipped onto my shoe.

I don’t need steps for folding laundry or when I’m at a work site helping clients sort clothing at the store.  I also can’t always swing my arm when walking, and seriously, who can?
so when it isn’t on your wrist, giving you fake and inaccurate stats, it can’t read your pulse.  If it can’t read your pulse then it won’t show you active “zone” minutes.

It is beyond frustrating to have an extremely busy day, with over 20,000 steps and see that I’ve got single digits for active zone minutes.

Just give us the option for active minutes!  It seems like Fitbit has lost many customers (and will lose a lot more when customers have to upgrade again) because they messed with something that worked great.

😡😡😡

Ah, yes, I well remember the day with my original Fitbit when I hit 10,000 steps after sitting on the sofa for two hours. I was rewinding embroidery floss onto bobbins.

Please bring back Active Minutes. You don't have to give up active zones for the people who want it. Just let us have the choice.

I am a walker (I don't know why my profile says I'm a jogger) and Active Zones are of no use to me.

The Zone Minutes are TERRIBLE. I absolutely hate them. Please give us the option to CHOOSE to have active minutes or zone minutes. I’ve never been so unhappy with a feature.

Hi @KrisSharpe, thanks for sharing this suggestion about being able to choose between the active minutes and Active Zone Minutes with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Can you give an update on this topic.  I see comments go back over a year.  This is crazy.  Are you going to change it or not?  Been using Fitbit for years and this will be the deal breaker.

You are so right @Deb88M - I think they only look at the number of votes against a topic and this has still only got 230 although there are more comments posted than that. I'm sure there are many more who don't bother to post on here or vote but just move away from Fitbit. There should be a response by now, one way or the other. Makes you think they just don't care. What is the point of this forum if they don't respond after more than a year?

I completely agree with all comments.  I am a long time Fitbit customer, and I am returning my new inspire 2 today.  Only need steps and active minutes so the device is useless to me with zone minutes.  So disappointing. Health providers are pushing active minutes more and more, so I can only assume fitbit will continue to lose customers if this simple update is not made.

I also switched to Garmin. I opened so many tickets with Fitbit, escalated to tier 2, etc. No one cared so I finally gave up.

Tracking the Active Zone minutes might be good info, but I want to see a true count of how much time I am up and moving. Why can't we have both General minutes active AND Zone minutes?

Hi @FBNightOwlthanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us about the possibility of seeing active minutes on Inspire 2 as well, instead of active zone minutes. I noticed that a similar feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here. This helps to keep the forums more organized and for the team of developers to continue to track popularity and demand over time.

Thank you again for your participation in the Community.

Bring back active minutes! Zone minutes only is a horrible idea. Way better before the update. Update now keeps my walks separate and doesn’t add them together. If I keep heart monitor off I always sit at zero minutes even when I walked for an hour....terrible. What a shame! Give us the option

After many positive years with my Fitbit Ionic, it will sadly be placed in my trash bin. Quite heartbreaking as it was a gift from my spouse and truly the starting point of me starting a healthier lifestyle.  Although a great and durable product, without the active minutes feature, it is of no use to me.  This is the feature I used most and gave me the most value.  Very silly of Fitbit to double down on this mistake, but I have seen this behavior in many corporate settings; the active zone minutes was probably the CEO's kid's idea and nobody has the guts to reverse it !!

Where I live, unwanted electronics must go into e-waste.

Or put it on freecycle. Or sell it online.

Or find your active minutes on your phone via fitbit.com, but it;s stupid
that we have to do that. And then sometimes it takes a while for the phone
app to sync with fitbit.com. Frustrating!

Hi there

I understand the frustration completely. And Fitbit aren’t listening!!

Before you throw your watch away, I found this new way to access Active
Minutes and it’s working for me.

I actually found a free clock face that keeps Active Minutes recorded on
the main screen. Yay!! It was just in the collection that Fitbit provides.
Hope that helps. I’ve been so happy to have my Active Minute info easily
available again.

No extra clock faces for us Charge users as the Charge line doesn't use FitbitOS.

@Ole805SB

oh yea I guess so. I was thinking of my Versa and not Charge. Well that is disappointing. Fitbit should’ve really left it alone....if it ain’t broke....
