Allow us to create custom meals on Fitbit app

Given that the community has been asking for this for 10 years, and now you will no longer have access to "create a meal" via the web version of the dashboard, it's making it harder for me to a fan and supporter of Fitbit, and I've been a fan for more than a decade. Please have the app have at least the same features as the web version (e.g., create a meal), but since it doesn't already exist, add the feature for # of servings to make our lives easier please!

Thanks dfits
This just proves FitBit can put it back quickly. It's not really "gone."

I have tried in two different browsers now. I give up. I started a trial of
myfitnesspal. The functionality is comparable. I have not seen how the
exercise component of it works yet.

I am a senior software developer. If they cannot put it back in a single
day's work, then it's because they're deployment process is stupid. That
may be among the many reasons they do not want to support it anymore.

I don't believe they will bring back the web/desktop dashboard and it will probably be a while before the nutrition portion of the app is updated/upgraded so I'm switching to Cronometer for now.

The app is completely useless without the dashboard. I had to stop using my program altogether. I cannot do anything with my FitBit due to serious dexterity issues and the screen being too small to navigate. I need adaptive technology to assist with this and my tech works best on my desktop and I need to have all my graphs in one place not all over the place to make navigation a nightmare.

Thank you for this. This is the number one feature for me.

Googles accessibility statement;

'When we say we want to build for everyone – we mean it. Accessibility is written into our mission statement and is core to our values as a company. We don’t think a problem is solved until we’ve solved it for everyone. Technology’s great promise is to give everyone the same power to achieve their goals. As long as there are barriers for some, there’s still work to be done.”

It seems that not everyone is being taken into account when it comes to accessibility. Upon contacting Google's accessibility support via email, their focus appeared to be more on the technical compatibility of their voice input accessibility software with the app, rather than addressing my specific needs. This scenario draws parallels to a common issue observed in public restroom design - wheelchair-accessible stalls are frequently an afterthought. While one may be able to enter these stalls, maneuvering inside is often challenging due to obstacles such as footplates hitting the commode and inaccessible handrails. Despite meeting accessibility standards on paper, these stalls prove impractical for disabled individuals, limiting their ability to enjoy dining out as access to a restroom is crucial.

In this instance, utilizing the app may not be feasible for disabled individuals, even though it is technically accessible with adaptive technology. This can disrupt an individual's ability to effectively monitor their food intake, water consumption, heart rate, physical activity, and provide feedback to their healthcare provider over a period ranging from a week to a month or longer. Encountering inaccessible stalls in restaurants led me to avoid returning to those establishments. Now, facing a fitness device that I cannot use effectively has compelled me to discontinue the program I was using to track my intake, sleep, and activity levels.

Agree completely!

Check out the website dashboard of MyNetDiary as an alternative to our now-nonexistant Fitbit dashboard.

There is no meal creation option on the app and now that the desktop dashboard has been taken down it is very time consuming to track what we eat because we have to add every single ingredient individually every time we eat a meal.

Agreed!  This is infuriating.  How can you sunset the desktop dashboard and tell us to use the app when you don't have the same features on the app?! FitBit is a joke at this point.  I will be migrating to a new tracker.

This 1000x.  Completely agree.

One more from me - bring back some decent way to see the history and statistics for my activities.

I go swimming and log my swimming

I go running and log my runs

How am i supposed to compare my activities and see if i improve or not?

The App is a joke, the Website would bring a decent overview.

I kicked out Runtastic after years of using it because they removed the Website, now i need to get rid of Fitbit as well again even if i have the Google Watch?

To help with meal planning, I always log what I am going to eat the day before to make sure I'm in my calorie target range. The web version allowed this very easily. In the app, you are blind guessing by adding to a future date. If you screw up, you have to wait until that day comes to fix it. I'm contemplating leaving Fitbit and going elsewhere. I guess I'll start complaining with bad reviews in the PlayStore. Maybe that will get your attention.

I find the app very tedious to log food - especially if you are behind a day or two. The website was much more efficient to log food and it is frustrating to not have the option any longer.

I switched to MyNetDiary and it allows me to easily log food data on a web page on my desktop computer.  Much easier than trying to do this on my phone screen...the only option now with Fitbit.  MyNetDiary is free (though they have a paid version too) and frankly it provides much more data than Fitbit did.  While I was really ticked when I could no longer enter my food each morning (an crucial part of managing my weight/fitness) I have to say that finding MyNetDiary has been a surprising and successful alternative.  I think if Fitbit turned the web page access tomorrow, I wouldn't go back to them.  Never thought this would be the case.

Please bring back the dashboard. I’ve spent the past day trying to work with support through X. I am no closer to being able to log steps than I was before I started. I’ve use this product since 2013, and this has really stripped away a lot of functionality for me. Not sure why you felt in need to remove something that was so functional. Thank you.

Interestingly enough, there are some meals I created on browser dashboard that are now visible on the phone app, but not all of them, which seems passing strange.

They've been there in custom. But they never updated properly if you edited
them.

After almost a decade of being a loyal Fitbit customer...I am done.  I knew nothing good would come from Google buying Fitbit; we have watched functionality and features continue to disappear. The only thing that kept me from leaving was the fact that I could track everything in one app - food, sleep, activity, weight, etc.  Now that I cannot create meals or modify existing meals to track my food in the app, there is no reason for me to remain a Fitbit customer.  I have overlooked the inaccuracy of the Aria scale body fat readings, learned to live with and work with the ridiculous heart rate variability method of Fitbit's heart rate tracking, paid for Premium to get additional insights and metrics, etc. all because it did everything.  There is no reason for me to stay when there are far more accurate fitness and wellness trackers on the market.  I just purchased my first Polar Ignite 3 watch and once it arrives; see ya Fitbit.

Agreed! Who wants to enter and re-enter common meals?! Fitbit, you knew it was a good idea, otherwise you wouldn't have put in web version. It's good customer service include this popular and smart feature before depreciating the web app.
