Allow us to create custom meals on Fitbit app

Given that the community has been asking for this for 10 years, and now you will no longer have access to "create a meal" via the web version of the dashboard, it's making it harder for me to a fan and supporter of Fitbit, and I've been a fan for more than a decade. Please have the app have at least the same features as the web version (e.g., create a meal), but since it doesn't already exist, add the feature for # of servings to make our lives easier please!

Bring back Food Log on website & custom meal creation on app. It is completely ridiculous that these features have been removed. The app isn’t always reliable, plus being able to update the website while i work was a very helpful feature as I can’t always use my phone. & why one can’t create custom meals on the app is counterintuitive. Do better.

My post in the "Give us back the web page" was moved here.  I do NOT want anything added to the phone app.  I want THE WEBPAGE BACK.  You have betrayed seniors and others with disabilities who struggle to use phone apps.  I literally hate you for this.

I agree - bring back ability to use the web dashboard

Agree, the app is poor and not good enough, never will be BRING BACK THE WEB PORTAL

The calorie logging is now too cumbersome and complicated. I don't want to use the phone app, I want to use the browser dashboard. Since the phone app doesn't support custom meals, this will be my last Fitbit. I'll switch to apple watch or something else.

I'm adding another vote to this. Also, the ability to do servings in multiples and decimals.

This is an essential feature that I had been using to manage household nutrition for over a year. My recipes change week to week, so adding and editing meals is really important.

The automatically generated food lists are terrible. “Frequent” foods seems to be randomly generated and, if you actually log all foods, “Recent” food include foods you might rarely eat, and the generated list pushes out foods you regularly eat. There are not “Favorites”, which means constantly having to search for an item you eat on a daily basis. If these could be added as web features, they can be added to the app. Other apps have that ability.

I don’t even know this existed, and neither did anyone I chatted with at Fitbit. Thank you.

I have lost the ability to add favorites to MY FOODS. A real pain in the **ahem**.

Google really messed their mess kit with the App only decision. I spent the last 14 years as a contented user, now just the opposite. The food section is an absolute disaster. No rhyme or reason in the Resents or Frequent columns and I can't add favorites to MYFOODS.

C'mon Fitbit/Google - make things easier, not more difficult! Incorporate
the browser food log into the app or reinstate the online Dashboard/Log
features!

I totally agree. I was so happy with using the web to log both "extra"
exercise and food. I counted on my custom meals and favorite items to make
entering food fast and easy. Now, it's a huge pain.

Top of my recent list is something I've had once about 3 years ago.

This is nothing I can add that has no already been detailed by other users.  I too use fitbit to monitor my T2D, and I used the meals feature on the .com/dashboard to my advantage.

Please make the necessary changes to the app to allow use to create, edit and delete meals.

Thank you

Please reinstate the PC version. The app is awful.

Stepping Up

The fitbit moderator LizzyFitbit recommended liking this post and it is up to 255 likes as of my posting. How many people will need to ask in order for Google to apply the effort and duplicate a feature (create custom meals) that was available on the dashboard but removed without a solution on the App?

I'm certain for every one person that has gone through the effort to wade into this issue and find an answer, there are 50 other people that couldn't even find this thread to 'vote'.

The food APP on my phone is inadequate. The Recent and Frequent columns are
really poorly designed. Totally agree with your post.

I thought I must have just been missing a setting or something, because how could you not have something as useful and dead simple to code like a custom meal? But nope, when I cook at home, which is **ahem** near every meal, I have to log each ingredient every time. It's absurd to not have this function, and it appears like you used to have it and actually regressed functionality? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I used G+, Wave, and Stadia, so I should just be used to Google's shenanigans. Maybe I should have gone with the Samsung watch instead.

Please fix this.

The whole migration from the PC to the APP has been an unmitigated disaster.

I've been a Fitbit user for 10 years, but because of the clumsy and inefficient way they make me save items as a custom meal or even edit or customize a specific item I finally got tired of using Fitbit's food tracker a couple years ago and switched to MacrosFirst. Now that MacrosFirst finally has integration I tried to set it up to sync my nutrition back into Fitbit so it's easier to see my calories in on the same app as my calories burned, only to discover that a) the date has to be read from FB and written into MF, meaning logged in FB and then it will copy over to MF - NOT what I want because I hate logging on FB. Why can't FB allow data to be written into it from another app? And b) the Fitbit dashboard has gone away and I have no way to log food properly at all. Without this ability in the app I'm strongly considering switching to a different fitness tracker that either has better food tracking features or plays nicer with my MacrosFirst app.

The ability to create new meals and to EDIT existing meals is key. I look forward to seeing this option in an upcoming update to the FITBIT app!

i have 3 custom meals that I use daily that I’m now unable to modify. Ive been with Fitbit for 9 years and premium for 2 but I’ll probably move to Garmin if it doesn't get updated.

Bingo. Can't believe Google/Fitbit would be so dumb.

Please add the former functionality of creating recipes from the fitbit online dashboard to the fitbit app (android). The current workarounds aren't valuable replacements for this feature.
