Allow us to move or delete Cardio Load prompt

There is a new Activity called Cardio Load on my home page and I cannot move or delete it. I don't care about it. I want to see my Steps on the top of the list and now I can't see them because of this new Activity and the size of my iPhone mini. This is ridiculous.

I totally agree with you. It is a shaming feature. The feature would be
fine if it didn't have a pop up. Toggling it off removes the tile but will
not remove the prompt that is only making people feel bad or forcing them
to over exercise. I thank you for commenting on my post. This is how change
is made. Lots of comments will be picked up by the algorithm and bring
about a positive change

Ridiculous setting. For weeks it told me I was overdoing it (with brisk walks!) then next day said I was in danger of under training of late. Only now do I learn that I cannot get rid of the pointless prompt. I've had a Fitibit since 2012 and admittedly havent always loved the changes but the ones in recent times just seem designed to make people change device. It's working and it won't be to Google devices!

I agree! This new 'feature' is random at best and potentially dangerous at worst. My program focuses on strength training 4-5 times a week with one intense cardio day a week which has been working for me for over 2 years - yet it keeps telling me I'm at risk of under training. This is how people get injured because they think the machine knows what their body needs better than the experts. Give us control back over our experience.

I had the same problem. Constantly being warned of overtraining and not
despite hitting all my targets for walks and active minutes, exercises. I
am told I need to do 96 Cardio load which is insane. Hopefully all these
responses will get them to get rid of the prompt.

Sadly, yet another example of Google having no idea about what customers want - or caring.  I'm already a disgruntled Google customer, and this is just another nail in the Fitbit coffin - unless someone who cares takes over this company well before I need to replace my Versa 4 ....

Dear Fitbit :
I have been a faithful user for more that ten years. I appreciate being able to track my fitness goals and achievements in your app. I like customizing my notifications to get reminders ow what’s important to me.
That said, PLEASE STOP THE FORCED CARDIO LOAD REMINDERS! I struggle enough on my own with eating and exercise, and don’t want to be shamed repeatedly throughout my day by a by a fitness app. New reminders pop up almost immediately after closing one. Nothing I have changed in my settings stops the messages. Perhaps you should consider supporting your users’ mental health as well as physical health.
I have sent messages to your support team, but the app only gives me 100 characters per message.

Please for the love of God just let us turn off these notifications about cardio load. They are shaming and intrusive and we should not be forced to see them when we have turned off this stupid cardio load feature. Why does FitBit keep “fixing” things that aren’t broken?

As this lovely pop up shames me EVERY TIME I open my Fitbit app - I’m going to come ask about when you’re going to allow us to permanently disable it as often as I can. Who knows, maybe the whole squeaky wheel mentality will get us somewhere.

"Who knows, maybe the whole squeaky wheel mentality will get us somewhere."

Sadly, Fitbit -- much like every other company that has substituted a "user community" for actual support -- is deaf to squeaky wheels.

I was really hopeful the last few days that it had gone but it seems to only disappear if you don’t wear your watch for a chunk of time. Which undermines the point of having one.

I contacted Fitbit support again, knowing they won’t do anything but was just told to wait for another update. I’ve asked them to escalate it but who knows if that will help. Suggest as many people as possible contact them and ask to escalate the complaint- the chat function is easy enough via here: contact.fitbit.com

I literally am unable to close the thing. At the very least we should consistently be able to X it out of our line of sight.

The cardio load feature is totally bunk. My target load today is 4-10. I got 70 something yesterday just from getting ~16k steps walking. Do you know how little I’d have to do to get a cardio load of 4? I’d have to barely leave my bed. The cardio load feature is not health-forward. I have it turned off and still get the notifications every day.

Yeah, somehow I doubt that unfortunately.

Wholeheartedly agree with others re shaming and intrusive nature of this notification. I was concerned it was just me being precious. The structure of the app is bad enough without this. X out of it, even switching btw sections of the app and there it is again. Disgraceful.

Fitbit should provide data to it's users, but not tell users what they should do. The cardio load prompt is nothing but annoying. Please remove or at least let us decide if we want to see it. I've already toggled off the number but the message still appears, and it appears multiple times a day. Not a good feature!

Ugh I hate this nonsensical and useless prod about cardio load.  Don’t those tech folks have anything better to do?

Lothlaurianne

I’m only trying to increase my activity levels to improve my blood pressure and cholesterol, not “train”…. I struggle with pathological demand avoidance and the negative, shaming message (phrased as a demand) makes me feel angry and want to ignore my Fitbit completely. The progress that I was making has suffered because of it and I’m seriously thinking of switching to an Apple Watch or giving tracking up entirely. Maybe that’s silly but not being able to make the message go away at all for the past few days is getting to me.

I HATE this feature. I am Anorexic and already exercise too much for my body and then Fitbit tells me I'm not pushing myself hard enough!

That's so freakin triggering!

Let us be able to turn this feature off fully. I already have settings turned off for this but I still get the awful message telling me my cardio load.

I couldn’t agree more with the feedback above. I reached out to Help to understand how to get rid of the pop-up and was simply told to chime in here in the hopes that the Fitbit developers see it. Not only is the guidance nonsensical (no matter how much you’ve worked out on a given day, if your goal is set to “improve fitness” it just keeps telling you to work out more), the messaging is also demoralizing and, of course, impossible to remove even if you disable cardio load targets. Last but not least, within the same day I received both “you should rest more!” and “you should work out more!” messaging via the pop-up, which is just silly. To echo what others have said, often I can’t even x out of the large pop-up any more. In sum - this feature is irrelevant, demoralizing and frustrating, and contributes to a very poor user experience. I’ve loved Fitbit in the past but am strongly considering switching trackers given how annoying and highly visible this feature that we can’t opt out of is. Please, please make this feature optional (and, for those who actually do want to use it - please revisit how the daily messaging is calculated and written). Thanks for your consideration.

I get cardio load just sitting in my car on a ride. Worthless information!

Mine is constantly saying 61 -96 which is insane. I walk all day long
(dogs) and I was over training hitting like 90 a day but I was
overtraining and ended injured. It's insane for them to expect me to do
that much daily. Especially when I chose maintain and not the improve
option. I wish they would remove the prompt. I think keeping up with
comments is important. I did have a moderator reach out and they are
apparently working on a fix. Let's hope it rolls out soon

Or at least let us calibrate which are our workout days so I don't get "you're at risk of overtraining" on workout days and "you're at risk of undertraining" on rest days! I cannot for the life of me work out how they calculate it. It often contradicts my readiness score, which today is low and says I've increased activity lately so should rest, yet cardio load has set my highest target yet!

Nlubcke
Recovery Runner

I agree. I have turned the feature off because it's either giving me conflicting information (low readiness yet unrealistically high cardio score goal - with no actual guide as to what it takes to hit it. Apparently a 5k run wasn't enough to hit 90!) And it's also using shaming language. I'm not at risk of undertraining, but this feature has put me at risk of injury by guilting me into working out when I should have been recovering.

So, I turned it off only to still have stupid pop ups telling me what I should or shouldn't do!. Fitbit, you're not my coach.

This subject was first raised over 5 weeks ago, with many commentators explaining how this feature is detrimental to their physical and mental well-being.

Google - this is not a numbers game: as a health and safety issue it should have been removed immediately it was raised, with consideration to reviewing it afterwards.  PLEASE GET RID OF IT NOW!!!!
