Allow us to move or delete Cardio Load prompt

There is a new Activity called Cardio Load on my home page and I cannot move or delete it. I don't care about it. I want to see my Steps on the top of the list and now I can't see them because of this new Activity and the size of my iPhone mini. This is ridiculous.

I posted a review on the Google store asking when they would address the concerns being raised about the cardio load. I was promptly ignored

Totally agree.

I have Fibromyalgia, and whilst I like to track steps and exercise days, I do not want to be reminded that I have underperformed!?

I find it upsetting as this is something I am not able to do with my condition.

I am the one who originally posted this thread and now I am going to complain about the hundreds of responses and email notifications I have received on this topic but there is absolutely no progress after several months.  As a software developer myself, this whole issue and lack of resolution is a disgrace to my profession.  My solution:  I have stopped using the app and now I am going to disable notifications so I don't have to be reminded every day of how nobody at Google/FitBit cares.  If I didn't love the slim profile of my Luxe, I would move to an Apple Watch in a second.  Bah humbug.

Holy cow, I didn't know this was a thing for others as well! Ever since it's been on it's been extremely annoying. I don't know what it is, I don't care about it right now, I just want it off my page. But like people have said every time I close the app and open back up again or even refresh, that annoying cardio load message pops up. Please take it away or allow users to stop the pop-up!

Please allow us the capability to remove the daily cardio load prompt!

@LizzyFitbit I’m glad someone is finally listening. I hope the team is paying attention to all of people saying the messaging is ableist. Because it is. It really shouldn’t be that hard to fix the issue. We are only asking to be able to choose the focus of our Fitbit data (like we have always been in the past) and to not get a negative, shaming popup that will not go away if we are less than absolutely perfect. Not everyone uses fitness trackers for the same purpose.

I’ve taken off my Fitbit and unsubscribed from premium because of this issue and I have a feeling I won’t be the only one if it isn’t resolved.

I just got this feature acitvated a few weeks ago (I don't have premium), and I absolutely hate it - couldn't agree more with many of the comments made already. I want to set my own targets, thank you! And please stop insulting me every time I open the app!! I don't see how this function adds anything more than the zone minutes already does. I certainly hope it becomes optional as is now considered.

Suffering with a virus at the moment and unable to do my usual training. I'm rarely ill and hate it when I am. Bad enough that I had to miss my gym session yesterday and the last thing I need is a stupid message about hitting my target and getting back "on track". Do Fitbit really think these shaming messages are "motivational"?

I am close to abandoning Fitbit because of these annoying features.  I have wasted way too much time on chat and online trying to get rid of cardio load, pace, etc.  Nothing I'm told actually gets rid of these.

I am having surgery tomorrow and will be unable to vigorously exercise for about six weeks.  I am NOT looking forward to opening the fitbit app every morning to be told what a slacker I am. The idea that fitbit thinks it knows what I am training for is a joke.  By some of the suggestions it must think that I'm training for a marathon (no), and other days it must think I'm training for a walk to the mailbox.  When I asked a moderator about the new data point, they couldn't even articulate how the cardio load is calculated, or what the range of targets is. It is the most useless feature in the fitbit data set, and I hope they decide that we can opt out if we want to.

Dear LizzyFitbit, @BonBon7, and all of you who have contributed to this post,

I just want to mention that the TRIMP algorithm and similar systems were designed to help assess the effectiveness of training for TEAM SPORTS and other serious athletes.  Some Fitbit users, (probably not a huge percentage) may train with that kind of regularity and intensity, and that's great!  Others of us  can't, or have no desire to, train in that way.  Hence the need to make the Cardio Load, (and the horrible messages) optional.  To be fair, I can just ignore the Cardio Load tile in the same way that I don't log my food.  But the messages are pushing me to leave Fitbit.

For those of you who are curious about it, and for the team that's considering whether or not to make Cardio Load optional,  I would suggest that they  review some of the research that's been done on the TRIMP algorithm,   its uses, and its potential weak points.   One potential source of information (there are many out there) can be found here: https://journals.humankinetics.com/view/journals/ijspp/17/4/article-p507.xml

Please note that I am not an expert on the subject, I have no link to either the International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance, nor the authors of the article.  I do try to train fairly seriously in two sports, but my professional and personal responsabilities don't always make that possible, and I resent Google/Fitbit adding to my stress levels - they're high enough without them.

I have to comment again because I'm incredulous and laughing. I was sick for 10 days, flu, every day the app gave me a stupid.. You need to make your target.. Message. Then now I'm back to work out today and it's told me I've gone over my target and I need to slow down. Even the feature doesn't know whether it is coming or going. You've tried to make an intelligent diagnostic but it is not intelligent enough to ask if someone is sick or injured, there is no off mode, and moreover the app can't even ingest it's own data to understand that other metrics are different. Turn. It. Off.

Can we please have the option to turn off the suggestions that pop up at the top of the page sometimes? They populate over what I’m looking for and are an inconvenience. Also, I don’t need telling how to train.

I use the Fitbit to track and record my fitness for my interest. I do not want pop ups. But there is no option to switch them off. Made worse by the fact the pop ups are unhelpful and contradictory to the widely recognised exercise plan I’m following.
Please give people the choice to receive them or not. If that’s not possible remove them completely asap .

I'm recovering from a virus and haven't been to gym since Monday. Today the app has set me a target of 101- 126. This is absurdly high for my current weakened state. If I managed to reach range that it would likely setback my recovery.

The cardio load feature and accompanying popups are broken and need to be optional. This should be treated as a bug, not a feature request and treated with more urgency than mere "consideration".

JRSAB

Exactly. As the pop ups appear even after turning off Cardio Load in the options, by it being Under Consideration Fitbit/Google seem to be deciding whether turning off Cardio Load should actually work or not!

ChocolateCookie

Adding my vote. The cardio load prompt NEEDS to be optional. Get to it, Fitbit!

MeNC25

One of the things I like about my Fitbit app is I can customize my home screen. But this cardio load feature is annoying and I would like to not be able to have the notifications pop up every time I open the app. I’ve removed the tile but the reminder inside the app needs to go or have a way to shut off it’s the only one that does that why?

Ncdrew2

I am mystified that this feature was approved and added. It isn’t motivating, it’s nagging, the dialog box is always in the way, and usually wrong. Minimally it needs to be optional and personally I think it ought to be removed. PLEASE at least give us a way to shut it off permanently. Thanks for listening!

Agreed with this thread. Remove this feature or make it optional. It's both annoying in form and inaccurate in content.

Yesterday according to my watch my readiness was low and the cardio load target was 1-35.

I went to the gym yesterday (first time since I came down with this virus)  and achieved AZM of 89 and Cardio load of 59.

When I opened the app I got a popup saying my target was 101 - 126 and I needed to train harder. I reopened the app and then got the same target as my watch and was told to take it easy. The popups and target are not only demotivating they are bugged.

Stop with the under consideration, listen to your customers and fix it.

In common with many others, I have found that if I delete the cardio load data, which I have done several times, it stops the message for about a week, then it starts again. Make it go away. Permanently. And let users opt out of cardio load altogether.
