Android app have the same Features as the iPhone app

It would be amazing if the Android app had all of the same features as the Iphone app, such as the ability to scan barcodes on food items in order to add them to your daily intake.  Seems silly that you advertise that this is a feature of your app on the website only to find out that is only on one OS and not the other.  Thanks!

Hi there, Noted the barcode icon under Food in Android 4.4.4 on moto g and Android 5.0.2 on Nexus 7. However I still believe it is of little use unless you buy your food primarily from supermarkets and pre-packaged. It is of no use for those buying from various wet markets or eating out, especially if you are in Asia. Anyway, it had probably months of hard work for your engineers. Thanks, T

New to FitBit. Scanning in all my favorite products using the Android app on my phone. The database can find three out of four of my barcoded products but when it fails there is a message "Not found. Want to help out?" - YES, but how? There seems to be no button to manually enter the details.

On my PC my web account shows the foods that I scanned with my phone. Entering foods not found is a pain, especially if you want to input full neutritional details, European lables don't have RDA %, only grams per 100 gram serving or VRN/NRV (for vitamins) which I don't know if it is the same thing. There is no field to manually enter the 13 digit barcode so you can find it again later.

A few tweaks on the next updates would be much appreciated.

Folks, In my own biased opinion I still see the barcode scanning software is of no use for persons and parties purchasing their food at traditional wet markets or purchasing directly from farmers. Same for those growing their own food. For the same reason I quit logging food. If I could I would avoid pre-packaged food altogether. T

The Android version of the Fitbit app is woefully inferior to the iOS version. It's much harder to track what you eat in the Android version because the list of saved foods is so short. I find myself having to rescan the barcodes over and over of things I ate only a day earlier. The iPhone app also keeps track of things you commonly eat together, like salad and dressing as an example, which makes it easy to enter. The Android app makes you find each item individually.

I'm seeing posts asking for the ios app to catch up with the android app.

To say it is inferior based on one aspect is a misnomer

Perhaps you could enlighten me on some of the features of the Android app that are missing in the iOS version.

Sorry I'm sure you can search the forum as easily as I can. Check my sig, I don't even kniw how to turn on an iOS device. and haven't owned a windows or Mac based computer for more than 10 years.

Since I actually HAVE used the iOS, Android AND Windows versions of the app I can tell you unequivocally that the Android version is inferior for the reasons previously stated.
