Auto-Sync in the background to use Alexa and Spotify seamlessly

Everytime I open up Alexa or Spotify, it prompts me to sync with the Fitbit app first. While my fitbit app is running in the background, it should automatically sync so that I can use Alexa and Spotify whenever I want to. It gets really annoying when I want to ask Alexa something and it asks me to open up the Fitbit app first. What's the point of having this feature then?
