Auto pause for biking on Charge 4, Charge 5 and Charge 6

I would like to have the autopause for biking, like already exists for running.

@TenkenaidMy only probable assumption as to why they haven't implemented it is maybe the "This person isn't moving" feature is based off of steps being taken aka the step counting hardware/software, but for bicycling they would need to implement the feature for GPS. This is total speculation on my part, and still not a great excuse to ignore so many requests from customers, but it's the only probable reason I could think of. If that's not the case, then the situation is just sad and could probably be implemented quite trivially.

By the way, all other cyclists who want to see this happen, we need to share the link to this page with other FitBit users/cyclists, and ask them to Vote on this feature suggestion. See https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Edit-distance-activity-based-on-GPS-or-steps/idi... . It says that there are at least 500,000 (probably closer to 1 million in 2021) users, and even a suggestion with 500 upvotes is not enough to get the feature implemented. Therefore, the most likely reason this is not implemented is that there are not enough upvotes.

The thing is, I believe that there are probably tens of thousands of other cyclists who would want this feature, but who just are not aware of this thread or haven't taken the time to find it. So the best we can do is spread the word.

Well, just got my Fitbit Charge 4 and returning it today.

NO AUTO-PAUSE on cycling?? (yet it's available for runs only?!) - that and not being able to accurately record open water swims because defaults are set for pool distances make this watch totally useless for any athlete wanting the same options for swim, bike and run.

Soooo disappointing.

The problem with open water swim distance is that GPS is needed.

With the very small antenna and GPS being a line of sight technology. The arm going in and out of the water, gps may not work. Have you tried swimming in the run or walk mode to see if gps can work while swimming?

I am very disappointed that my new Charge 4 doesn't have auto pause when tracking exercise. I often stop to talk to neighbors when I walk, or stop at the mail center, or pause to take a photo. Please add this feature.

Really surprised this isn't a feature of this watch. I will have to keep using my phone for tracking bike rides until I upgrade to something better it seems. I know it's not the most feature rich fitness tracker but this just seems such an obvious and basic oversight that it's still really annoying

I see that they are releasing a Charge 5 that will ship at the end of the month. It has color screen. I hope this fixes the lighting  issue.  Can we trade in the Charge 3?

I using Charge 4 when my Garmin under repaired. Quite surprise as I there are no auto pause function for cycling as I thought and believe it should be standard features for any cycling tracker. I still waiting auto pause function for cycling be made available at Charge 4.   Otherwise I may switch back to Garmin.

Pls add “auto pause” and “auto restart” for cycling in Versa 4.  The Versa 2 already has long had this feature and it seems odd that the updated Versa 4 watch would have less functionality. Auto start and stop on the bike is super helpful when cycling outside in traffic. Thanks.
