Auto update weather app during every phone sync

I love having the weather app on my charge 3.  Since I got the watch, I am checking the app on my phone obsessively probably 20 times a day. Each time I swipe down from the top of the screen to sync my device, but unless I have the weather app on my charge 3 open when I do the sync, no weather data transfers. This makes the app useless since I need to take out my phone in order to sync my watch at that moment. Once I have my phone out of my pocket, I might as well just check the weather there. 

Please update the software to have weather data pulled each time your phone is synced or have the option of automatically having weather data pushed from your phone every x minutes/hours.

I'm finding the same exact issue -- and it really sucks because otherwise the weather feature is awesome. Weather doesn't sync unless you have the weather app open on the charge 3 while you sync on your phone... pretty silly that you have to do that in order for weather to update (makes me want to remove the weather feature all together).

Fitbit team, please find a way to fix this by just doing a simple sync -- regardless of what app is "open" on your Fitbit.

My fitbit app on phone is on "All Day Sync." When I go to the weather on tracker it says, Try again not connected. I need to open my phone, it will then sync. I shouldn't need my phone nearby AND go to fitbit app to get the weather app on my tracker to work.  Need a fix on this, please.

I think you should be able to set the update frequency and it should update at that frequency (but more choices on frequency). I don't need the weather updated every 2 minutes using battery to do it.

The Versa device is equipped with a WiFi chip, and is used to sync music when it is charging.  I think it would be a great improvement to use the WiFi chip to sync live updates like Weather so we can stay up to date.  Because I feel like the weather app is almost useless because whenever we want an updated forecast, we have to sync our phone anyway.  So why not have the option to use WiFi to update it and have the Fitbit device always connected to the WiFi?
