Bring Back the Old Dashboard!

I'm starting a new thread to bring back the old dashboard since the previous one was closed to comments and is no longer being considered by the developers.

I can't express how much I loathe the new "look."  It's cluttered, difficult to navigate, and it enrages me anew each time I go to check if I've got my dot for the hour.  Please give us the option of using the "classic" view.  Failing that, give us the option to remove or edit what we're tracking.  I'm in menopause, but it won't let me remove the Female Health.  I don't track how much water I drink, or what I eat, but those are permanently visible (I could edit them out of the old dashboard).

Please return to something clean and functional.  If not, I'm sure I can find another tracker that will suit.  I've been with Fitbit for over five years but updates like this do not inspire brand loyalty.

I totally agree and in fact I must keep my cardio within a certain range for health purposes so it is even more critical for me. We’ll see if Fitbit is capable of adapting and fixing.

I am switching over to Garmin and giving up on Fitbit. They don't seem to want to help us.

So what do you want me to do if you want to switch to garmin

There is nothing for you to do. I was just saying what I am doing.

I’m confused. What did you mean by posting this:

“So what do you want me to do if you want to switch to garmin.”

I never said that. It may have been a post. I am waiting for Fitbit to fix it or I will go to another tracker maker. It is my health at stake not my fitness.

Ok. Sorry. The posts are hard to follow. Good luck with your health issues.

I also much prefer the old dashboard grid view.  The new list format is awful.   why on earth wouldn’t the developers provide users the option to select their preferred view?  Please return to the grid format.

Add me to the list of Unhappy Updated App customers. My biggest problem with the update is that it is visually flat, boring. Time for Fitbit to realize new isn't always better. I will soon be upgrading to new tracker, seriously considering other brands now.

Fitbit: everyone commenting hates the new dashboard. Listen to your users. Look what’s happening to Apple - they thought they were invincible and they aren’t. Apple shipments fell from 7.7 million in Q2 2018 to 6.4 million this year. Picking up the market share was Samsung, who saw its shipments rise from 15.3 million to 18.3 million. What’s Samsung got that Apple hasn’t? Customisation.

Your competitors will be reading this thread and noticing you fail to respond to furious customers who feel cheated and betrayed by having a horrible software upgrade forced upon them.

Give us the option to choose between dashboards. How hard can it be?

I want the old dashboard back! Give us choices! Don’t force an update on us! Time for an Apple Watch. Goodbye

Fitbit: I finally got a response to my app review in the App Store. (Everyone make sure you leave a review for only the app there as well. It’s not a place to review the device.)

The response from Fitbit was better than some I’ve read because it says that they will try to take customer’s opinions into consideration in the future, rather than just saying “sorry you don’t like it, here’s a link to how to use it.”

however, this isn’t enough! It’s not enough to say “next time we might consider taking customers opinions into consideration.” I can’t believe that there are no articles about this massive blunder yet, but I’ll be trying to make that happen.

Arrogance is not going to fix this. The upset responses keep rolling in. Whoever is at the helm of this decision needs to respond quickly to change the app back and come up with a new way to generate revenue that will be adding value, not by diminishing the product.

The developer responses should sound more like “we hear you and we are working on making changes.”

No developer has responded to me yet on here. It’s time to start considering this change back to the old dashboard.

Im writing this to help you! Corporations take too long to react. React fast.

I hate that I have to continuously 'edit' so challenges don't show ahead of my activity

I wasn’t given an option to bypass the upgrade.

I also agree with everyone else that the previous dashboard was so much better.

Also there should be an option to revert back to the previous version if requested.

I use the app to understand most of my data and the watch basically for checking the time and for receipt of notifications. App is no longer useable due to update, my notifications don't come through due to update and i cant check the time because the update has tanked my less than 6 month old charge 3 battery. Think I'll just get a garmin or apple watch.

I too am not a fan of the new dashboard.  The main thing I don't like if how the 'Discover, Today, Community' takes up so much of the screen.  Why is this necessary.  I would rather see more of my progress.  The Discovery and Community could be moved to another screen.  And it still takes forever for me to sync to the app.  If you want to improve something, improve that!

We chose the Fit Bit because of the old dashboard!  My husband is visually impaired and could read the old dashboard. He can’t see this one!  Just can’t imaging that there is not a option to revert back to the old dashboard. Looks like there is an option for Android users.

I don't get why they decided to take away a function, user friendly dashboard to begin with.  This discontent and discuss needed not have to happen.  Does anyone know if any other trackers offer the link to friends activities so you can challenge and compete with each other?

This new format that has been forced on us is absolutely not at all helpful. In the previous format everything was easy to access. We could arrange items important to us in one small rectangle. Now we have to go searching for everything. Even something as simple as syncing my fitbit on the go is a sit down mission. This new format is not only unnecessary but absolutely not useful.

It's bad enough that after having my Fitbit for a matter of a couple months it Hardly can keep up with me, most of the features are wrong (ex: steps, sleep time, heart rate) and my steps. But now I not only have to slow down to allow the to watch catch up with me, but it's like going on a new mission just to sync my watch with my phone. This watch and these apps are supposed to be able to keep up with me, not the opposite way around. Especially for the amount of money they cost.

Here’s what your answer from Fitbit will be in a nutshell, just wait... “We’re sorry you feel this way, but we don’t really care. Here’s a link so your idiot self can figure out how to use the new app layout,  because clearly your dislike comes from you simply not knowing how to use the layout. “

Everyone be sure to post one one star reviews in the App Store! You are reviewing only the app!

My Charge 3 Fitbit will not register my rowing workouts on my Bodycraft VR500. This was a waste of money and a disappointment and should be added because I have no record of my workouts.

I agree! I called customer service about this and they suggested I come here. The new interface - too much reading! The tile interface was quick and easy. This new one, it’s like reading a blog. Who’s got time for that? Unattractive. Time to say goodbye to Fitbit.
