Bring Back the Old Dashboard!

I'm starting a new thread to bring back the old dashboard since the previous one was closed to comments and is no longer being considered by the developers.

I can't express how much I loathe the new "look."  It's cluttered, difficult to navigate, and it enrages me anew each time I go to check if I've got my dot for the hour.  Please give us the option of using the "classic" view.  Failing that, give us the option to remove or edit what we're tracking.  I'm in menopause, but it won't let me remove the Female Health.  I don't track how much water I drink, or what I eat, but those are permanently visible (I could edit them out of the old dashboard).

Please return to something clean and functional.  If not, I'm sure I can find another tracker that will suit.  I've been with Fitbit for over five years but updates like this do not inspire brand loyalty.

please bring back the tiles with large icons showing a visual representation of the info, the current ones are too small with too much wasted white space and the writing is too small for me to read.  don't make me scroll to see my info, the old version allowed me to see the info i cared about in one glance with no scrolling.  for the steps per hour, please bring back the arc and make it larger so i can see it without my glasses!  the calories circle makes no sense to me!

if fitbit is going to ignore the comments and attribute customers' dislike for the new layout to our being "resistant to change", then i am seriously considering getting rid of my fitbit and going with another brand.  there are a lot of choices out there for consumers and for fitbit to ignore user dissatisfaction is going to cause them to lose those customers.  i'll give it a couple of weeks but if things don't improve, then they've lost me.  fitbit, are you listening??

The best places to leave comments asking Fitbit to roll back the changes to the dashboard are where prospective buyers congregate.  For example, have you given appropriate ratings on the Apple App Store for the app?  If you bought your tracker at Amazon or other online retailers, have you left a review there telling prospective buyers how the new version might change your view of the product?

Fitbit is very public in announcing that their primary objective is to maximize subscription revenues, and the changes to the app are clearly designed to facilitate that.  If you don't like it, telling Fitbit that here won't help anything.  Telling prospective customers how you feel about it might change things.

I completely agree.  I don't want to even go into the new app to check status.  The new app looks old and dated

I do not like the new update and dashboard change. It is extremely frustrating and I spent over an hour trying to search how I could change it back. Please post on your website that the new update is permanent and that we are not able to change back no matter how long we search on the internet. Please Post this in clear language on your home page so others like myself don't waste their time trying to find a fix. I have never posted anything about my fitbit and this is my first post. I see many others are very unhappy with the change also. I finally had to call the company and was told to post here. I liked everything about my fitbit but now will look toward changing over to an apple watch instead.

I also like the old platform better. It is easier to navigate and quick to see progress. I contacted Fitbit corporate offices and hope they care enough about their loyal customers to bring back the old version as an option for those who have stuck with fitbit because they liked it.

Fitbit will loose many customers with their lack of concern to meet the needs of the consumers if they don't offer loyal consumers the old version back

I hate that I can't rearrange the items based on what my personal goals are, but my biggest pet peeve is the weight. I only weigh myself once a week. Yes, I know what the scale says. Yes, I know I'm unhappy with it. I don't need a glaring reminder every time I go to log water or food. I'd much prefer going back to the form of just "pounds lost." That was a much better motivator.

The new resdesign is very user-unfriendly. Could you return to the originally layout? It gave you all the information at a glance in a much clearer format. I’ll just use my watch right now for statistics until you give me the option to return to your earlier design.

Hi @Careylovelace. Thanks for taking the time to explain why you would like to see the option to change the time format in the Fitbit app. This feature suggestion already exists, so I’ve moved your post here. While this isn't currently planned at this moment, we have left voting open so we can keep tracking this request overtime. To learn more about how Fitbit decides which suggestions get developed, visit our FAQs.

This forced “downgrade” is pure **ahem**!  I’ll be leaving the Fitbit world soon, as I’m sure many will.  Fitbit, you really screwed up big time. I can’t imagine how you thought this would keep current customers happy.  There is no way at this point I’d give this company another dime.

The new dashboard is crap. I switched to Fitbit because I liked the tiles and the look of the tiles. If I wanted a list I could have stayed with Garmin or gone elsewhere. This look is ugly, I can’t even force myself to like it, not even a smidge. I want the tiles. All they need to do is create a choice for people to choose a layout design. Also, was bot happy the new layout was forced on me.

I didn't have a choice nor a chance to vote! I just got a new phone and when I opened my Fitbit app it was suddenly the new layout! I usually accept and adjust to app changes easily,  but not this one. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

I am continually having to uninstall and reinstall the "new" app. Only to have Wit not sync for days!  What on Earth was the purpose of changing the app. The new design is atrocious. There is less information and it is more difficult to understand. Over the years I have learned that "new and improved" just means new! There certainly is nothing improved in this case. Why can't we get the old app back?

What a disrespect of users. If you drastically change the look and feel of an app that is part of our daily life and make it less useful & less pleasant to look at and less clear to view..., then at least Fitbit should have given me a warning of the changes beforehand, so I could have opted not to continue the upgrade.

So I strongly vote for the option to have the old dashboard back.

I wonder why it is so difficult. It is not something that has to be developed..., it was there and working fine.

Hey everyone, please also leave a review on the App Store and go to Twitter. I haven’t seen twitter yet, but I’m sure it will be entertaining. I’ve been watching the reviews as they come flooding in. People are horrified by this new app. It’s like they put lead in our water or something. Is Fitbit listening yet?

They cant just count the number of people they pissed off so far and dismiss it as a small percentage of all users. I can guarantee many are not the type to leave a review and won’t bother, but that doesn’t mean that they are happy with it.

I just read that they plan to release a paid app for $10 a month! Nope!

Im chucking my Fitbit into a fire. Looks like Fitbit is going down anyway. They are losing revenue so they thought they would play corporate games and try to take away what they offered for free only to offer it for a fee.

You imbeciles! Disgusting!

The info they are providing is not even that accurate. That’s why I didn’t opt for any of the other paid services!

Had not heard of that...

And slowly, so slowly, it is all falling into place...

>I can’t imagine how you thought this would keep current customers happy.

You put your finger on it - the issue is that they don’t seem to care if you, a current customer, are happy, *unless* you are generating revenue for them via a premium subscription.

They’re attempting to make a fundamental business shift, and only time will tell whether or not there are enough new and existing customers willing to sign on to that new paradigm to make up for the likely loss of current customers who typically buy a new Fitbit every year or two who will chafe at the fixed hardware cost and the new additional subscription fee.

I agree that that the new dashboard is a step backwards. There is no clear colour differentiation and less information about progress. The weight icon has lost its degree of weight loss for example compared to goal. My husband updated his accidentally and showed me to warn me but I was not given a choice. I work in product design and yet  cannot see what the benefits might be. Fitbit are ignoring their loyal customers. I have had a Fitbit since 2013 and have bought 4 Fitbit products for myself and family. I have recently found that there is no new clip version with floors to replace my  One if I lose it; so this is the last straw..... goodbye Fitbit.

Yes, the moderator will probably move this post to be “junked” with ALL (because there are MANY!) of the other similar suggestions.

loathe the new dashboard. I apologize to whomever designed it, I’m sure you did your best, but most of us enjoyed what we were using. It was friendly and pleasant to look at - little icons and quick reference info. This new list is not only ugly, it’s not very customizable and annoying to use.

If it stays this way, I may continue to use my actual Fitbit, but I will no longer be inclined to sync up my phone (which means I will no longer track sleep or any of the other things that require the app. When this wears out I might as well just get a pedometer.

Very disappointed.

Thank you! I totally agree. This type of change and no options to get a different look does not help me to stay on track.  I find I do not want to even look at the results because of this change. I find I either am now not wearing my tracker or it is in my pocket. This new change feels like it is a Beta version. The fonts are not appealing, I have fewer options to choose from and feel like I am no longer an  active participant  in my fitness journey.  While it has not stopped me from being active it has not been helpful in helping me to see progress, where I might be slacking or to enjoy my progress. I too am looking for a different product, which is sad as I have been using a fit bit for so long over 6 years.  Wish the company would consider loyalty before change.

You don’t even need to “bring back” the old dashboard, because it was live for me on 27th August and it’s now 31st August, and the app hasn’t had an update. So please just re-enable it so we can get the colourful, data-rich single homescreen we desire, rather than cartoon-like non-data-rich icons with lots of white space, scrolling and tapping. Come on FitBit!
