Bring Back the Fitbit Dashboard – A Challenge to Do Better
Dear Fitbit/Google Team,
I've been a loyal Fitbit user since 2010—back when customer support would send replacements in ziplock plastic bags. Over the past 15 years, I’ve depended on this platform, upgrading through at least six different Fitbit devices and integrating it into my daily routine. As a Marine Corps veteran, I rely on structured data to track my progress, stay disciplined, and maintain my health. The web-based dashboard was a key part of that.
The ability to see trends at a glance, analyze long-term progress, and easily export data isn’t just a convenience—it’s a crucial tool for those of us who use Fitbit to make informed health decisions. The mobile app is useful for quick checks, but it doesn’t offer the same level of usability that the web dashboard provided. For many of us, having access to our data in a format that allows for real analysis isn’t just a preference; it’s how we stay accountable.
I challenge you to do what great companies do—listen to your most dedicated users. The removal of the dashboard didn’t just change how we interact with our data; it removed a core feature that made Fitbit a trusted health and fitness tool. If removing it was necessary, at minimum, give us transparency. A “coming up” announcement about potential replacements or improvements would go a long way. Instead of simply taking away a feature that many of your customers relied on, a roadmap or update from the Fitbit team would help keep users engaged and reassured that you’re still committed to providing the best experience.
Google is an innovative company. At the very least, I would expect someone in the Fitbit department to give us insight into what’s next so that we can continue looking forward to improvements, rather than feeling left behind.
Fitbit has always been about helping people take control of their health. I encourage you to restore this essential feature or at least communicate what’s coming next—so we can continue doing just that.
Sincerely, A Marine Corps veteran and 15-year Fitbit user who believes in continuous improvement.
Please please bring the Web Dashboard back! My eyesight needs a big screen! It was so much easier to do things like the food tracker on the website. I hope it's genuinely being looked into.
I can see a lot of historic data on my phone. I am sure this is not held on my phone but on a server somewhere. If this is so why cannot I not access it via my PC web browser?
Hi @db32080. Thank you for your product feedback about having an online dashboard available for our Fitbit products with us! We've found a similar request and merged yours with it. Interesting. I get a weekly "summary" from Fitbit. It is nice that they send me a link to the non-existent Dashboard. You can view all of their products with the link!!!!!
If you consider how many people would be annoyed enough to come here and comment, after looking for a web dashboard, multiply that number by 100 to imagine how many are actually annoyed by this issue.
That is what we are trying to find out. There has been comments about this from Google or Fitbit. Eventhough the weekly email we get says see your dashboard but points to their sales page.
I'm on a 4 week vacation in Japan (from the US) and I left my phone at home. The Fitbit website using Windows laptop can do a few things and it syncs enough to tell me my battery level, but I'm pretty sure it isn't sending data to my account and it isn't setting the new time zone, so the clock is wrong. I need to solve these 2 problems. How?

Yep, extremely frustrating that I can no longer access stats on a website dashboard. I have had many, many Fitbit products over the years (since the first little clip on) and I am now looking to switch to a new line that will be website compatible. I understand most of the younger people today use smartphones/apps exclusively, but are they really going to disregard an entire demographic of customers who want online access (which, btw, gave different/extra information and had a great deal more capability)? The data that I sync from my Aria scale alone is so completely different on the app. Very disappointed to have to leave Fitbit after well more than a decade of loyalty 😞
I am also an older FitBit user. I do not own a smartphone. I used to sync my FitBit to my laptop and that worked well. I was forced to buy a small tablet when support for that option was dropped. I really cannot read the details displayed on the tablet. Like others, I need a larger screen. My FitBit is still working, but the reasons not to replace it when it fails are becoming overwhelming.
Very disappointed that web access to stats is gone. I want to be able to see stats visually in detail on my laptop and desktop PCs. The Phone app just isn't as easy to use for detailed data interrogation compared to a mouse and full size keyboard.
Google, please provide a detailed analysis capability for my Fitbit PREMIUM data as a laptop / desktop compatible web application.
When there was an issue a person at fitbit (lizzyfitbit) picked up the thread at got the problem solved. There has been no comment from Fitbit or Google on this thread. Do they really care about after sales? I think not even when uses say they are changing to other systems.
Please bring back the fitbit web dashboard. I've been a loyal customer for 15 years, and I rely on the dashboard to add steps when I forget to wear my watch. I have been walking for a solid hour/day every day for 14 years without missing one day. I tried to add steps through the fitbit app, but it doesn't let you add steps, only time. This is unacceptable. Either bring back the dashboard which allowed you to add steps manually, or else make it available to add steps on the app. adding time doesn't accurate put the correct steps. This is a very very bad move on fitbit's part. You don't take away useful features like those provided by the dashboard. Please fix this. I have been very loyal for 15 years, and gone through 5 different fitbits during that time. You need to consider the needs of your customers, unless you don't care if you lose them. Having accurate step counts is very very important to me. thank you.
I miss the web dashboard so much. I cannot understand why it was removed, it makes no sense. Removing it only serves to make the product worse. If anyone working at Fitbit sees this, please do what you can to get this reversed. Even leaving it in maintenance mode would be better than removing it.
I totally agree. It was valuable having an easy dashboard to keep up on and manage diet, exercise, heart rate etc. the Google changes are definitely a BIG down grade and loss of value for me.
I have tried posting a workout yesterday on my Phone yet it does not show. I posted this morning, the next day. If you can't do this on the phone how else am I to do this. You took away the dashboard. You also do not allow for kilometres and miles like 4.76 on the phone. I want to be accurate. Google you have really screwed this up. Bring back the dashboard.
