Bring back the old sleep summary page

When I had my Charge 5 and the first few weeks of having my Charge 6 the app would give me a sleep summary page with, Sleep Stages, Time in each stage, Oxygen levels and Bedtime and wakeup all on a handy page. Since a recent update I now seem to get a much more basic three tiles and I have to open each one and look through for all the information.

I want to add my vote to how bad the new sleep update is.

When I go to sleep (between 9:30 and 10:30 PM) - 4/5 mornings I am forced to go to yesterday to delete the data, then I have to go back to today to add those 2-3 hours to my actual sleep for the prior night.  This is my MAIN objection to the update.

My secondary objection is the sleep graph itself.  It is nowhere near as clear as the graph that was available before.

I have a Versa 4, but I don't think this issue has to do with which watch at all.

This comment has over 2000 votes - how many does it take to actually convince someone that they've changed something that 90% of Fitbit users used nearly seamlessly in the past, but now struggle with on a daily basis?

I'd also like to encourage anyone who has voted or commented to continue to express your distaste for the sleep update.  I know there are already almost 2500 upvotes.  I'd love to see that go higher.

The layout for sleep is now functionally unusable, it must show all long sleeps and naps, and allow easy scrolling into historic data.

Additionally reading through this thread it is very frustrating to see the dismissive official responses. Please treat your customers better... There are alternate options for us.

I agree with all of the above comments.

I hate it.

I have completely stopped using the sleep monitoring because it is useless to me now.  Why bother.

If they do not bring back the old style I am moving on to another tracker that does not screw around with what was already good and step backwards to an 'unimprovement'

I agree...I really dislike the new sleep page.
Would love it if they would bring the old sleep summary page back!!!

My husband told me about this as his now had  the new version, I haven’t updated the app and I still have the old version.

I’m thinking if you don’t have the new version maybe by not updating it will stay the same?  Worked for me so far.

Good call. It's not truly ideal, and won't work for Apple users, but Android users should be able to download an older version of the Fitbit app to get the old sleep screen back until Google does something (if ever).

I've downloaded the February 2024 addition of the app and I got the old sleep back

The only reason I say it's not ideal is because you'll be left behind for all updates, which may cause functionality to quit working if Google changes something on the back-end.

I'm an over 12 year user of FitBit (One) and am very disappointed in FitBit ignoring its customers and refusing to bring back the old sleep monitor.  After my open heart surgery, my cardiologist was using this data to monitor the quality of my sleep.  (The anesthetic from the surgery turns me into an insomniac for 2 to 3 months post surgery.) In my last visit, we had no way of telling if I'm still improving due to un-asked for change in the the sleep monitor.  This is a real health issue and I'm wondering if the folks at FitBit(Google) realize the product liability they are opening themselves up to?

Please, please, listen to your customers and bring back the old sleep monitor or I predict FitBit will no longer exist.  Maybe, this is what Google wants.  I for sure am looking at other trackers and none of the options will be a Google product.  As a matter of fact, since Google does not care about it's customers, I will switching from Google chrome to another browser.

@Vallaing and @josekreif :

I reverted back to the Firmware Version 57.20001.188.58 and it works like a charm.
Unfotunately, like you noted I have turned the updates off and I have had this version back for about 6 weeks now and I am very happy with it.  Who knows how long it will last but for android users, this is the way to go.  Sorry about Apple folks as I am not sure if it works for them.

I have also been searching for other products but I dont like what I find and I dont think they have the detials of what I have now.  It is sad that Google is not listening.  Fitbit was wonderful before Google took over 😞

Best of luck to all of you.

Thanks for the info but I have an iPhone.

The previous sleep summary graphic had more readable colors and had hourly tick marks which made it easier to assign a time to sleep stage changes.

related to getting back to a good sleep app version, there are options on
both X and Facebook (if yyou search) to get back to a working version.
because of how Apple controls its devices, their mechanisms lock owners out
from proper management of their devices

Thanks, but I have an iPhone.

Google/Fitbit doesn't seem to be aware of our concerns. I have received an email form their support that states:

Sorry to hear about this and I appreciate you bringing this to our attention

Please know that we have updated the Fitbit app interface to a different one and with this we encourage our customers to leave a feedback to our community ideas board for our engineers and product developers to consider changing it back to the old interface. This is the link: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Community/ct-p/EN Kindly take a moment to visit the community ideas board and give us your feedback.

We have several threads here, including this one with about 2500 votes. We have been leaving feedback since April.

Obviously, they aren't paying attention to the comments in the community section, or they simply don't care about the users that they have, many of which have been with FitBit since the early years of the product. So, just as with a job, when you are dissatisfied you go elsewhere and if enough people go...

What is disheartening, is that they have been removing comments. It's June, these changes were made in April and prior.

Great idea to switch browsers! The tech people get too big for their britches. Too busy making the big bucks!

I didn't find https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Community/ct-p/EN helpful. I get more emails from the Fitbit Community than anything else. It's quite apparent to me that Google does not give a gosh darn about us Fitbit users who have had them for years! The old Sleep Score was very useful, there is nothing about the upgraded (downgraded in my opinion) version!

Add my name to the chorus of disappointment at the new App sleep report display. It’s unusable. As a fan of Edward Tufte, I *loved* the old display and I’m crushed at the new version.

Presumably, it is an effort to push premium memberships, but many of us would rather switch than fight. It’s been a nice decade and a half, FitBit, but you have changed, and I’m done. Bye-bye.

THe destroying of the sleep app has nothing to do with Premium
subscriptions (yet).

It is simply a way to dump Fitbit users

I agree and searched to find answers because it's driving me crazy and now I'm looking at oura or apple, which is depressing.  I absolutely do not like/loathe the new layout.  The data feels compromised additionally bc it's different enough from my former stats,  my animal changed for the first time in 2 years...

The more I hunt for data that used to be intuitively displayed, the worse it gets.

And the sleep schedule graph is even WORSE than every other downgrade of every other display of every other metric.

Who reads a sleep graph with days across the bottom and sleep duration posted along the VERTICAL access?
Time duration usually is graphed left to right, not bottom to top. I have to turn my phone sides way got it to give me “visual” data — the whole point of a graph, or, “visualization”. See attached screenshot.
