Bring back the old sleep summary page

When I had my Charge 5 and the first few weeks of having my Charge 6 the app would give me a sleep summary page with, Sleep Stages, Time in each stage, Oxygen levels and Bedtime and wakeup all on a handy page. Since a recent update I now seem to get a much more basic three tiles and I have to open each one and look through for all the information.

Does Fitbit get an A+ for customer service?!? Within minutes of posting my feedback on this thread, it seems I have the old sleep tracker format back! Thank you, Fitbit!

Too late for me now, this (the sleep display) was te straw that broke the camel’s back
I’m off to Apple or Garmin, ever since the Microsoft sell out, te system has deteriorated and despite many complaints they have been ignored. Time to vote with our feet

Absolutely agree. The new design is horrible. Especially from a usability standpoint. It should be reverted immediately.

This makes me want to cancel Premium. Why pay for this?

With the last update is the sleep graph so cheap and terrible. I can't even see how mutxh time it took to fell asleep, ans the several graps of wake, rem, deep sleep.

The new interface for the whole app has been disappointing me too. I am sure there is a way to ‘improve’ the old version but the older version was effective at delivering information in an energetic/encouraging way to the eye (bright teal blue is energetic and hopeful and the white background supported to balance and brighten its energy. The use of yellow/red/orange also was energetic and in a shade that complemented each other in an intuitive way to display the exercise minutes.)

Now though the app is mostly white without any supporting color which is just bland/neutral/uninteresting on its own for an exercise/health app; the new dark purples and black in the sleep section just feel heavy, draining and a bit pessimistic for the shades chosen (as a pallet). These two color schemes together just make the app feel draining and uninteresting in an unhelpful that is unpleasant to the user.

The only things that I have liked about the app since the changes started was that it didn’t change the major places I normally checked for my health data frequently (until now), although I haven’t like the new exercised minute section either, since it has changed too. I could cope with that section at least by just getting the data I needed from that section (in a less enjoyable way than before), while the other sections were better. The sleep section data is more complex and much of it has been reduced in its helpfulness from the display change.

Like others have said, the app is decreasing its ability to display data in a helpful, easy-to-look-at and encouraging way for any user to use for its purpose: to help anyone learn and achieve their health goals in an encouraging way they see fit.
I’ve been hopeful these changes would improve for the better but now I am just noticing more and more how the app is just changing for the worse by making it less enjoyable to use and harder to read and understand the data being collected (in an easy to visualize way.) Previously there were very clear sections that helped draw the eye to learn from the visuals and explain the data. Now those sections have been entirely removed, the colors take effort for the user to read them from a lack of color and contrast to see any difference between the data and their average or typical age range scores are hard to compare. Even from knowing the previous version I am struggling to understand what this same data means in this new format and it feels exhausting in an unpleasant way that won’t improve with more usage and familiarity. The purely white interface just makes everything blend together to be like a data dump that leaves the user to determine whatever they can out of it. The previous interface for the whole app more effectively made each portion of the app have a flow that was intuitive to user experience and guided the eye to learn from the data and how the user could consider to improve health goals in whatever way they wanted too (in a supportive way.)

@JGal2024 Really? Mine is still the updated awful one. Did you have to reset it?

Hi @Keliou After reading @JGal2024 comment I tried to reset my app but no success I’m afraid. @culturalbassoon @I agree that the whole app experience is heavy going now. Each change has been an annoyance but the sleep tracker change was what finally made me post here -  the first time in seven years as a Fitbit member that I have done so.

I’ve been reading other posts on the forums since my own post and noted how important the app data is for many with specific health concerns and how the data informs conversations with their medical advisers. All of this makes me feel that change to the app interface is really important, not simply a matter of personal preference and I hope Fitbit takes note of this feedback and takes action to restore the functionality we appreciated and many rely upon.

I’m also really fed up with the exercise tracker which now prevents you from recategorising exercise.

The change is awful indeed.  I initially thought the app had a glitch because it looked so terrible.  After two days I finally realized the change was permenant.  Very hard to read and most importantly now the app no longer shows the SPO2 variation.  I bought a Fitbit because I have borderline sleep apnea.  The app used to be able to tell me when that happened during the night but now it's gone.  If they don't change it back I won't buy another Fitbit because it's useless to me.

@Keliou @BusyA Yea, I am not sure how it happened, but I went to look at my sleep data again just a few minutes after posting and it was back to the old! I didn’t reset or anything. I have no idea how this happened. I had hoped maybe they just saw the backlash and changed it back. I hope they do that for everyone. Hearing that it didn’t reverse for everyone, perhaps mine won’t stay reverted. Gosh, I hope mine stays reverted and everyone else's gets changed back too!

Bummer! I'm sorry! I hope they read this thread and more and more people
comment so they can just undo it.

Fitbit will never regress back to a previous version. Ever. It’s admitting their tech guys don’t know better than their users. They believe every update will be beneficial but each time they update the display dashboard it just becomes harder to interact with them and the user is less likely to buy another product or upgrade. I still haven’t got over the last upgrade. But unfortunately get used to this upgrade they will never revert to old. They never do.

Totally agree, it's another awful update! Hate the new layout, not at all user friendly, please stop this madness! It seems like the majority of users do not like the changes that are being made...

Sleep tracker is abysmal now, was considering upgrading but that won't be happening.
Each 'upgrade' has been a downgrade for user preference and functionality.

Please go back to the sleep stage display you had previously. It is far better than this most recent update and was very easy to work with. Now it is cluttered and difficult to understand the information. I can see that you are trying to provide the same format that you do as steps, for example, to be able to see, week, month, year, data. That is a good idea but please use the previous graph style and presentation, it was far easier to see the data with colors and work with the information.

Perhaps a basic IT rule about making changes should be applied.  CONDUCT A USER TEST BEFORE ROLLING OUT A NEW VERSION.  This sleep display is terrible!

New app Fail - update looks like it has been developed by a primary school student, absolutely abysmal. Can we please have the old version back, if not I will be ditching my Fitbits

The sleep app makes no sense,  I  can't understand it anymore. I thought something was wrong it. Please change it back!!!! At least give people the option of choosing the old version. If not, I am starting to look for a different health tracker watch. I won't be buying a fitbit again, to hard to read & understand. You lost my business.

Does anyone know of a different brand that has better sleep graphs? More like the old version of fitbit?

The sleep tracker update is AWFUL!!! It is not easy to read at all and the "Restorative" sleep is no longer available either, and we can no longer see sleep/wake-up time at the front...you have to actually open it to find it and even then. Please change this back. Between only having videos of recipes with NO actual recipes and now this recent change to the Sleep Tracker ... paying for Premium is not worth for me. If these remain the same by the time it comes to renew my Premium account, I will NOT be purchasing Premium as it has no added value to me.
