Bring back the old sleep summary page

When I had my Charge 5 and the first few weeks of having my Charge 6 the app would give me a sleep summary page with, Sleep Stages, Time in each stage, Oxygen levels and Bedtime and wakeup all on a handy page. Since a recent update I now seem to get a much more basic three tiles and I have to open each one and look through for all the information.

I’m looking into alternatives also.

Now that I've lived with the new UI for 2 days I hate it even more. Fitbit never automatically logs my sleep hours. I have to edit it every morning. Last night I was broken out into multiple logs one from 11:17 to 1:30 am. The second from 1:45 am to 7:15 am.  It is very complicated to edit the sleep logs now. I had to delete each of them and start over. And that was complicated. Bring back the old UI. This was a bad bad bad update.

I agree with all of these comments about the new Fitbit sleep graph and info layout. It is terrible and if it doesn’t revert back to the previous summary data layout I will plan to switch devices. The thing I have loved about my Charge 5 has been the sleep tracking and the way the information has been summarized and layed out. This is no longer true.

This new sleep summary graphic really sucks. Please bring back the old one. I'm switching out of here if it's not

I agree.  The Restoration section provided critical oxygen variation data that is no longer provided.  It’s the sole reason I chose Fitbit and it’s why I paid for Premium. I will cancel my premium membership if that information is not added back.

This is the worst UI I have ever seen. Another sign that Google should have never interfered with FitBit

FWIW I have found that once I discovered I could drag my finger over the graph and see the times for each sleep stage it helps me a lot.  They really should have documented that, I only stumbled upon it by accident. I would still like it if the rotation from portrait to landscape was brought back.  I have not had to edit a session yet so I can't speak to that.

I'm not crazy about it, but it would take me a lot more than this to change devices.  The biggest thing for me with Fitbit is the  battery life.  I would be very careful about moving to another device because of that.  It is  why I don't go to the Pixel watch.  24 hours will not cut it as you likely won't get any sleep  tracking at all unless you give up some exercise tracking as well.

I doubt they will bring the old one back, so it might be more advantageous for all of us to suggest ways to improve what they have given us.

I have a Versa4/Pixel 6 Pro.

I retired a few months back and my morning routine has been making a great cup of coffee and sitting down with my sleep tracking data. It has been an important part of getting my sleep right and has up until a few days ago been one of my favorite and important activities. Now, I can actually feel my blood pressure elevating when I try to look at the garbled graph of strangely muted colors, dots, bars, lines...That graph is a bad dream for most users and for those of us with ADHD, it is a nightmare. It actually hurts to look at it. Honestly, even if I loved the update (and to be clear I think it is horrendous), I wouldn't be able to use it. So, I am cancelling my premium subscription, taking off my Fitbit at bedtime (why continue to stress myself out), and going Apple watch shopping today. I will also share with ALL family and friends that the Fitbit and other Google products are not worth it. So, Google, if your aim was to jettison current users by mangling a fine product, you did it!

Absolutely agreed, new layout is much harder to read and overall a huge step in the wrong direction. As someone with health issues, accurate tracking and availability of that information is the biggest draw of these devices for me. I can't read my information in a way that's accessible and understandable now.

Both my husband and I agree. The new sleep data representation is awful (both the graphics and numerical summaries). They are abhorrent to in trying to read and practically useless for us. These are stress inducing a real turn off. The kicker is despite the horrible “busy” new representation,  there are no additional data … just a more “busy” looking graphics that is mind boggling to read. The old display was simple, readable and summarized everything in an easy to understand format. We prefer not to have to find our reading glasses or do mental gymnastics in order to interpret the sleep data.  We are considering other manufacturers.  We are both due for new devices anyway.

The new sleep display is comparable to going from a modern computer game to Pong!

It is unacceptable Google. Looking forward to the change back. Otherwise offering refunds would be a good idea

I agree. Fitbit is going downhill with each software update. Fitbit should really do some beta testing with consumers prior to implementing software  changes. It would be a much better company if they took customer opinion into account. Both my husband and I have just started researching other trackers due to this latest change. Absolutely awful display for sleep data. Unusesble.

I agree with the other commenters--this update is awful and doesn't register with my brain.  The colored graph you previously used was simple to view and easy to understand.  PLEASE give us the option to view data the previous way for those of us who hate the new look.  If not, you will lose me as a customer, too!

Please give us back our old sleep and oxygen display screens.  The new screen is not helpful when trying to discuss sleep and oxygen with my primary care doctor.  Why do you think change is good.  Perhaps before you change something you should put it to a vote to see if anyone even liked the idea or layout.

I hate the new format. It now looks like an unprofessional kindergarten app. The sleep tracking is ridiculously unclear. My app is taking forever to sync now when it used to take seconds.  I have been with Fitbit for an extremely long time, and I am now reconsidering.

The new sleep tracking is terrible.  This is two votes for bringing back the previous visuals, my wife hates the new format too.

As a medical student I understand the importance of readability in patient data in EMR systems and I have found this update to be extremely troubling because you took one of the most readable displays and turned it into absolute garbage. Your programmers could learn a thing or two from the engineers at Epic or Cerner on readability and UI

The changes to sleep just hit my fitbit and I DONT LIKE IT> GO BACK> I want to see my individual stages and what my sleep quality was like. Without this data, the sleep tracking is worthless.

Agree with you. The old design offered more metrics and was simple to read. The new design offers fewer metrics and yet appears so “busy” that it’s practically unreadable. Cutting corners to save money on their end? I have no idea why Fitbit implemented these changes. Flummoxed here.

These changes make wonder what kind of idiots they employ.  Seems like very change damages the quality a little more.  Im need of a new device and NONE of the new models meet my needs, guess im gonna have to buy a note book and go back to the old fashioned way.....Just like Oakley, every time i find a style i like they stop making them, these **ahem** do the same thing, I find a device that does what i want and they foul up the app or stop making the device.......Im really surprised they are still in business...

I agree. It’s hard to read and not as user friendly as the previous display.

We have to wonder who is making these decisions to change something that has always worked well.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
This isn't even a fix, it's just annoying.
I heard from a family friend that there is a knock off Fitbit that's sells for less than $50 and it has worked for her for a few years now. I'll be checking it out.
No need to have Google monitoring everything about us.

My husband and I agree. This update is a game-changer for us. We are
talking to friends and family about their trackers and considering a
change. Most of them have abandoned Fitbit for other companies (due to
various reasons… mostly in regard to poor customer service). We started
with Fitbit and never left even though I had several issues early on with
their old band design. (I am loyal that way). However I lost two trackers
due to the poor design. I started purchasing make-shift rubber add-ons
(offered by other sellers!) to secure the band. Fitbit eventually created
a new band design that was less likely to fall apart but I had already
spent several hundred dollars over a course of two years. 😞 I am
starting to realize that I have been a chump. Time to start expecting
more. Fitbit has got to step up their game in order to keep us. 😞

Please at least give us the option to go back to the old sleep duration. I have been using it for years and loved it. I don't mind change if it was for the better. This graph is hard to read and is not an improvement by any means. Please and thank you!
