I bought my charge hr since website said it was compatible with windows phones. I didn't realize that was for some features not all. That was the big selling point and I'm sure I'm not the only disappointed one. When can we expect update?
It appears that the necessary "notifications support" for Windows Mobile Devices is MIA regardless of the device's currently installed WinPh OS version - e.g. 8.0, 8.1, or 10... FWIW, HR syncing seems to work okay on my Win-10/Pro based Notebook using the FitBit App and the NB's built-in Bluetooth supprot. But my ChargeHR fails to sync using my Lumia920 (WinPh 8.1), my Lumia950XL (WinPh 10), or (as an Android aside,) my Kindle Fire HD8 (5th Gen KOS,) using the FitBit Apps for those devices.
It appears this has been a lacking functionality for these devices for over a year - with no acknowlegement as to wheter it can or can't be done - or if it can be done, when it might be expected?
Perhaps retuning the FitBit and switching to the Microsoft Band is the correct answer?
Feeling very let down by Fitbit after finally discovering that my Windows phone doesn't support caller id. I was so impressed with my friends Charge that I went out and bought one. Any idea of how long we will have to wait please
Had a fitbit surge for Christmas but gutted to find I can't receive text/call notifications to my windows phone, and looking through this community page makes me think it might be a while before they sort it, some of these messages are over a year old, think I'm goin g to return it..gutted
Need caller id support for my windows phone. Sorry I can't change my phone for my gadget. Considering Microsoft Band. By the time my fitbit charge wears off, I'm sure band will comeout one with better battery life.
Have now purchased a Microsoft Band 2 here in Australia. Will come back to FitBit if this feature is added and purchase a Blaze. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a workaround for the GATT Server issue
I've ditched my Fitbit Surge and bought a Microsoft Band 2. Very happy and impressived with it. Running on Windows 10 Mobile, notifications, cortana, sms reply are working great. The heart rate monitor and other sensors seem to be superior to the Fitbit Surge.
Only downside is the dashboard and app is not as good. For example it is missing a food database.
I have bought a fitbit charge and just discovered that current windows phone application doesn't provide caller ID feature ! Really upset!!!! Please please....
Let us know when will you provide an update for this application ? It is a great feature ! Please update Windows Phone application as Android and iOS.
Just bought a fitbit charge HR so I could enjoy some friendly competition with my wife who has the Surge, but am disappointed that the Windows App on my Lumia 950 is crippled compared to the Android version. Now the question is, since it has been over a year that people have been requesting the win app be updated, and these requests have been ignored, should I return it and just get the MS band 2?
I'm voting on this, just to keep it current but am aware the ball is more in Microsoft's court at the moment. Just want you guys aware it's wanted and to try and pressure MS into getting their act together 🙂
Yes, Fitbit user's should be able to take advantage of the full potential of their equipment on any platform. Fitbit please help us get fit on any planform including Windows 10 phones.
Hard to believe this issue still hasn't been addressed with even an acknowledgement that it's being worked on. Very disappointed that I didn't know the caller ID would not work with Windows Phone until after I purchased it. Might have to switch to Microsoft like others have said. Unfortunate.
My surge has been amazing over the past 14 months, but always wondered why MS didn't install Gatt Server to allow us to enjoy ALL the benefits of the Fitbit devices including call, text notifications. I'm seriously thinking about the #Blaze as a replacement but paying $$$ for no Call, Text, Calendar notifications and no Music control (not 100% sure yet whether music control needs Gatt server) does not make sense yet or not. Dear MS and FitBit, please add the Gatt server so all Windows Phone/Fitbit users can enjoy your products. Garmin/Polar do not support any WP so this is a massive opportunity.
Shame on you Fitbit, advertise with caller notification on the charge HR but not (clearly) telling it doesn't work on Microsoft phone...
This forum started in 2014, isn't it time to tell the Microsoft users that you will not implement the feature instead of letting us beg in this forum for two years now.
