The latest Fast Ring Insider build now has GATT functionality. This means it is up to Fitbit to start testing with that version to hopefully add this feature. Fitbit have gone on record to say they expect the feature ready by April, when the Creators Update is officially released.
My husband bought me the blaze as an early Valentine's Day present and did not know the the notifications for text and caller I'd did not work with windows lumia 950 xl. Being a cheer coach it is nice but he got it because I am always complaining about having to stop practice to see who is calling or texting due to us having a one year old. PLEASE add these features for windows phones ASAP
It would be a great help to all windows phone users if the fitbit charge 2's text and call notifications actually worked... How come that works for all apple phones and most android phones, but none of the models of phones from Microsoft? Please fix this!
I would so love for the fitbit app to start working on the windows 10 phone. Please, please, please. I thought the app would possibly start working when I upgraded to windows 10 but.... it still does not react or sync as it should. Very disappointing.
I am very disappointed. I just bought my wife a windows phone and was trying to set this up. It worked fine on her old android, thinking of returning this windows phone..........
As a current Windows Mobile 10 user and former MS Band 2 user, switching to a Fitbit Blaze has brought its compromises. Most especially with the inability to receive call/text message notifications on the Blaze while paired to a Windows Mobile 10 phone. My understanding is that Microsoft has provided the GATT functionality required for this to work on WM10 devices for those on the Fast Ring/Insiders and/or those with the RS2/Creators update. Ball is in Fitbit's court to get this functionality working & added ASAP. Please add ASAP
I don't know why this is a feature that needs to be 'voted' on as the product is marketed as providing notifications. Microsoft released GATT support on January 11, 2017. It's now May 19, 2017. A company with Fitbit's extensive resources should have this done by now. And why close the Beta program? Please stop dragging your feet. Fitbit bills itself as an active company. Be active.
I was about to aquire a Fitbit Charge 2 but thankfully had the foresight to research platform compatibility. Seeing that Fitbit is dragging its feet to work on a solution for Windows 10 Mobile, I will have to look elsewhere for a fitness band that supports my favorite mobile platform.
I am sure that one lost customer might not be relevant, but how many can Fitbit afford to lose until either it resolves the situation or admits it does not really intend to find a working solution and is just leading on customers who already acquired their products. Those who have the opportunity to return their devices should do so and state the reason why, and perhaps then Fitbit will start taking notice! Sometime customers have to push back to make their voices heard.!
Save yourself the time. There are no other significant competitors. The app is good but not great on Windows and its really good on Android and IOS. Fitbit just needs to fix it. This is a leadership problem that needs to be resolved.
Sent from my Windows 10 Mobile - A stunningly good Mobile Platform.
I have also been waiting, must be about a year now and still no implementation, nor have they changed the packing to stop misleading people. Disgusting.
Windows Phone users have enough to deal with. There's hardly support for Windows phone. I got a fitbit because it is actual compatible with windows phones. I was irritated that there were still limitations on features. PLEASE give us phone notifications at the very minimum. Really, we should be getting all the features iOS and Android has!
I have a Windows 10 Phone which I love. I just bought a Blaze (one of the reasons I chose a Blaze over another brand/model was for email/text/cell phone calls) and no where did it say notifications were not available on Windows 10 Phones. I stumbled across that little note somewhere today in the How-To info. I saw a related post that said MSFT released the bits Fitbit needed to activate this in January. How long is this going to take??????
hallelujah... Update to the app went out today. the updated app is now showing "notifications open beta". i believe it is targeted to windows insiders on fast track. Looking forward to testing it tonight.
I hope this version fixed the botched assisted gps function on the blaze....
I have done the update, activated the notifcations in the parameters of the device, and the call notification works well (I didn't recieve any sms yet)
[Edit] ok finally with this configuration, it is not perfect: the notifications seem to work only if the fitbit app is open
