Challenges not Based on Steps, eg. Sports, Stairs, Active Mins

It would be nice to have different types of challenges that aren't solely based on getting our steps in.

For instance, the number of active minutes in a day, loss challenge, calories, water consumption. Some activities don't count steps such as cycling, skiing or skateboard.  I would like to be able to compete against my friends while doing other activities.

Hi @rebekkahjoy, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here. Don't forget to add your vote!

Yes, this feature suggestion has existed for several years, but nothing
been done and nobody can get a response from Fitbit about it. Maybe take
some time away from filtering and sorting comments and actually provide
feedback.

the fact that we all keep getting mailed with comments from mods "this
feature suggestion already exists. i've moved your post here" is so
obnoxious. it's like Fitbit is trying to trumpet the fact that they've been
ignoring us for years.

You keep moving posts, but we are yet to see anyone at Fitbit raise a finger to actually do what we have been asking for.

They have! Its just that you didn't notice their middle finger.

Maybe they might be a bit more responsive if I contact them via twitter...?

do it AndrewJolly! Im shocked this hasn't already been addressed. The crazy thing about all this is that the more people I ask what they think of the challenges, the more I realize everyone has seen the challenges and come up with better ideas than Fitbit.

Please do something Fitbit.

If you are on twitter you can find me at @IAmAndrewJolly if you look at my
tweets and replies, you will see that they replied quite swiftly, if people
want, feel free to reply to that thread as perhaps they may pay more
attention there.

Also challenge people with other devices, also team challenges, group challenges, where you can pick teams to challenge other teams etc not just in steps also

This is a great idea, I hope this becomes a reality- it would be a game changer for me!

I'm starting to think the fitbit forum is just a Fitbit controlled form of communication where fitbit can placate (rightly) frustrated and disappointed customers with minimum brand damage.  I think if a tweet received 2800 reposts, that fitbit ignore customers basic requests for over 5 years ... then we might see more actiom than a low paid moderator thanking us for our feedback.

I agree - I posted on twitter and I got a reply from someone very quickly.
I think they would notice twitter a lot more. Maybe we could start a
hashtag and share each others posts? #fitbitfeedback

I’d love to do a challenge individually or with friends related to getting my goal hours of sleep or going to bed at the time I’ve set as my bedtime. Can you add challenges like that?

Hi , I am loving challenges with friends and family, and would like to suggest the following

1- Active minutes challenge

2- Stairs climbed challenge

3- Water drank challenge

Hope you like my ideas, I am pretty competitive and love different challenges

Yes! I would love challenges based on going to bed on time , hours of sleep, hydration , etc.

I would also love to sable to track daily and weekly habits on my Fitbit app dashboard.

A good idea would be a Hill Challenge Day based on the amount of floors in a day. Also active minutes challenge ??? Come on let’s have some more random challenges 😊

YES!  I cycle to work and go swimming so my steps are always lower than my friends. using active minutes in the challenges would mean I could compete with friends for real rather than get demoralised as my activity doesnt count

It will fall on deaf ears, as it has the last few years. Fitbit are more interested in releasing new watches every few months, rather than implementing what should be a fairly simple software update.

I would say that this is my number 1 request on the fitbit. My
'non-walking' exercise counts for nothing and I get beaten constantly by
someone who just goes for long slow walks!

Its a pity that fitbit don't seem to care what their customers think.

So true, and it can’t be a huge thing for them to sort, fingers crossed they see sense

Please make this true! My friends always win in the steps, but I wanted to compete with floors, calories and sleep as well. I wish we could custom make our challenges and pick whatever you want. Let's say I create a challenge to run for a week, with the goal of max calories burned + sleep goal achieved.

Definitely would be better

Yes!! My friends and I have been doing challenges for over a year, but this spring I'm cycling more than walking.  Not only am I not able to participate anymore, but my average steps per day falsely represent me in the Fitbit community as someone who is not active (2000 steps per day), when in fact I cycle several times a week.   Challenge on active minutes would be great!)
