Changing activity to Bike should deduct steps form total

I put Charge HR in exercise mode and when done I go to App and change to outdoor bike, subtracts steps from exercise (good) but my daily total stays same. This should deduct for total. My works counts my steps and I am reporting a inaccurate step count. This has to be any easy fix!

But you're doing work that harder than steps, if anything it should count more
