Citibank credit support for Fitbit Pay

The Fitbit Pay is useless to me as is. I only use one card and it is a citi VISA (Costco). Please add support for citi credit cards

The people have spoken!  Please add Citi to supported Fitbit Pay banks.  Thanks.

Hi, I am following up on the Citibank card support. Citi is the only bank I use. For both credit and debit cards, which means without Citi support, Fitbit pay is useless for me. Do we have any updates on where we are with regards to supporting Citi cards? This thread has been open since 2017!

I completely agree. Feedback would be helpful. If there is no chance of adding Citibank,  it would be helpful to know that and at least quit worrying about it. Without feedback it simply feels like we are being ignored.

For the record, I recently initiated a Suggestion with Costco corporate
that they begin putting pressure on both Citibank and Fitbit toward
reaching an agreement, so that the Versa (which Costco happens to sell) and
its buyers can at least do Tap-to-Pay using the Costco credit card.

Everyone at Costco to whom I've explained the current idiotic state of
affairs was astounded (most were not even aware that Fitbit devices can be
used in this manner). Especially when I told them both companies have been
at loggerheads over this issue for nearly two years. Ridiculous!!

PLEASE GO TO https://customerservice.costco.com/ to initiate a call or chat
session, asking the rep you speak with to forward a similar Suggestion from
you, if you are a current Costco member.

I totally agree. Is Fitbit even listening?

I finally gave up. I got an Ionic Fitbit on Amazon Prime Day and love it.
Fitpay supports Amex and Bank of America which I happen to have and using
the Ionic to pay is both fun and very easy. Hopefully Citibank Costco card
will eventually be supported.

I finally got tired of waiting for Fitbit to get their ____ together with either Citibank or USAA.  That and years of spotty syncing with several Android phones and OS versions, plus a Blaze with a battery that died almost exactly one year after I bought it, and Fitbit's lame replacement support.  Bought a Samsung Galaxy watch and am so far very happy with that decision.  I have 2 Citibank and 1 USAA card registered in Samsung Pay which actually works!  Not to mention the Galaxy has many more apps than Ionic.

Decision between Apple Watch and Versa 2 became easier. Apple Watch won, just because of this limitation.

I just bought an Apple Watch Series 5 because my Ionic, after less than a year, has quit and cannot make it through the firmware update process. I was already very turned off by FitBit not supporting Citibank in FitBit Pay, but my Ionic getting bricked during a very simple update was the last straw. FitBit, listen to your customers and fix your horrific technology that fails frequently when being updated, before you lose every last one of your them! The Apple Watch Series 5 is so remarkable and does way more than the Ionic, I don’t know why it took me this long.

Now that Google has purchased Fitbit, are we to assume that Fitbit pay is going away and will become Google Pay?  🤔

That sure would solve some of our problems, if so. I had been wondering all
week whether Google's acquisition of Fitbit might resolve this ridiculous
issue.

As a result of this and other missing advertised features, and Fitbit's silence and refusal to provide any updates or support on the issues, I have submitted a formal FTC complaint. I encourage everyone else to do the same.

At the urging of sremick, I have also submitted a formal complaint with the FTC. I also urge everyone to do the same.  The FTC website will walk you through the process of submitting the complaint.  I sincerely hope that this will help all of the users to get the ability to use the FitBit Pay the way we had anticipated it would work when we purchased the product.

Great idea!! What ever happened to the O2 sensor and the ability to measure oxygen levels they advertised?

Mention that, too!

I’m going to upgrade to a smart watch  and I wanted it to be the versa 2 but now I have to consider the Apple Watch so it can work with my Citi card. This is so disappointing, please find a way to make it work with Citi!

Yes, add Citi.

I’m also ready to buy a smart watch, but want integrated pay. I feel there are no options since I only use my Costco Citi Card.

Citibank is a major bank in the US and the sole reason I bought the SE version was for the wallet feature. Very frustrated that 2 1/2 years later, this bank still has not been added based on comments. It looks like I will have to call and discuss with the customer service team. Hopefully, this bank will be added soon, but doesn't look like it.

Just got my Versa 2 and set it up. Disappointed to see that both USAA and Citi (Costco) is not included for FitBit pay. What Project Manager is slacking on their duties for this integration? I'll do it myself - who do I have to call?

Come on guys, work with Citi

I'd bet that Costco is one of Fitbit's biggest retailers, yet Fitbit Pay doesn't support the Costco Visa card (which is issued by Citibank). I'm surprised Costco finds this acceptable.

I just purchased my Versa 2 at Costco but cannot use my Citi Costco card with Fitbit pay. This is very disappointing 😞  I was really looking forward to this feature since my only card is Citi. I purchased the more expensive Versa 2 for this feature that I cannot use.

+1

I too only use a Citi card, and will not be buying an NFC enabled Fitbit until they support Citi.
