I think to be fair to Fitbit. Sometimes those banks are not available to Fitbit pay not because Fitbit doesn't want to work with the banks. Bank integration is 2 way whereby certain banks may not want to spend $$ for the integration as they don't see it is "worth" for it, especially certain bank created their own e-payment method like Paylah! etc.... they rather spend more to develop the useless thing despite we got Paynow. Yes. I know it is weird.
I really would love to upgrade my Charge 2 to the new Charge 4 mainly for the GPS and Fitbit Pay capabilities, rather than spending the extra $$ on the Apple Watch, but I may hold off for a little longer to see if this gets resolved (not holding my breath though).
I realize that this thread is now well over 2 years old, but echoing everyone else here for the sole purpose of showing the continuing consumer interest/need (perhaps growing, with the release of the Charge 4 at a lower price point than other Pay-enabled devices)... Please add Citibank to Fitbit Pay!
I will be making the suggestion/request at Costco and Citi as well.
Really wish Citibank would work with fitbit pay. I have been waiting 2 years for this to happen and sometimes have to use my wells fargo debit card because Citibank isn't supported.
If it works on Apple pay, why cant it work on Fitbit Pay???
Citi states they are waiting on Fitbit, and Fitbit have responded with a status update here in near two years, can we please get a status update, what stage they are in on this, etc? I've been watching this thread for about a year and this is seeming very very odd at this point... Or since the Google buyout maybe support Google Pay as that *does* support it? Can we get any update at all, something more substantial then just "Under Consideration" such as what is under consideration and what's it being held up on?
I agree with all those who posted and potentially 10s of thousands who haven't but have the same sentiment that Fitbit wallet should support CityBank credit cards. It would be win/win proposition for Citi and Fitbit.
Would like to see a status update on Citi coming to Fitbit Pay. Is the issue with Citi or with Fitbit? Finally upgraded and one of the biggest reasons was to get the pay feature. Now I find that I don't have access to it. Citi is not a small bank.
Come on Fitbit, Costco, Citi. This request went out over 2 years ago and you havent updated anything, the bank still is not on Fitbit Pay. Its not rocket science. Hubby did gloate that his watch could use it and mine couldnt.
Throwing my hat in too. I bought the charge 3 SE for the payment option and now come to find that my Citibank CC isn't available! I get that there is a back and forth here but I honestly don't know that I'm going to keep it if it doesn't support my most useful card. Actually of the four cards I use it only supports one. This should be prioritized if it hasn't been already.
I am requesting Citibank support on Fitbit pay. I just bought one and the lack of support for the card that I use (no, I am not willing to change it) makes sending it back more appealing. Too many important features are missing from this watch for the price.
If your bank card isn't listed to connect with Fitbit, then you, as patrons of that card, need to ask them about it. Fitbit wants to include more bank cards to take care of us members, but it's necessary for the banks to want it, too.
I was about to purchase a Fitbit Versa 3, and one of the primary factors in considering the purchase is Fitbit Pay. I'm glad I found this thread, because I exclusively use my Citi Double Cash credit card for purchases. Because Citi credit cards are not compatible with Fitbit Pay, the feature is useless, and I'm no longer considering purchasing the Fitbit Versa. I'm sure I'm not alone.
Fitbit, we're all trying to voice our opinions here, but we don't even know who to talk to... Some posters have stated that they talked to Citi, and Citi said they were waiting for Fitbit. Others seem to think that Fitbit is already on-board with supporting Citi, but is waiting for Citi to work with them. Please at least acknowledge where this currently stands, and which side still needs convincing! There's been radio silence for over 2 YEARS since an admin marked this post as acknowledged.
I agree completely. I'm disappointed in the lack of any information from Fitbit regarding Citi. Although I've been happy with my past 3 fitbits and was tempted to buy a versa, I've decided to avoid fitbit in the future.
still hoping that with Google now owning Fitbit, they will get Citibank.
For the mrantime, I do a workaround using 'Revolut' which is available now where Inluve. I justvuse it as a virtual card and load credit from my citibank. So I can use my fitbit ionic for my train and bus rides .
Its not ideal when paying for stuff as you need to load ahead but for now it works for me.
Hmm, 8 pages of comments since 2018. I'm going to guess that this doesn't get any traction. How in the world is Citibank not supported? I would have never thought to check each individual bank to see if I could use this highly touted feature, let alone have to check for Citibank. I have 2 credit cards, both from citi. If I had known about this limitation, I would have stuck with Apple. Fitbit certainly isn't upfront about making their customers responsible for checking each card. "Make purchases easy with Fitbit Pay" There's the contactless logo leading the consumer to believe if you have a contactless card you are all set.
Reading a little further in tiny print there is an asterisk. Keep scrolling and here's this, "FITBIT PAY WORKS ANYWHERE YOU SEE THIS SYMBOL"
Okay, now maybe the truth starts to come out, "From the United States to Singapore, Fitbit Pay works with the world’s leading banks and credit unions." I would argue that that Citibank is among the world's leading banks. There is a link to the list of banks well over halfway through the page, but let's assume I stay on the page to continue reading about this awesome feature that Fitbit has sold me on.
Finally we get to the asterisk and the following message, "*Fitbit Pay is only available on Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Versa Special Edition, Ionic, Charge 3 Special Edition and Charge 4. For more information about the Fitbit Pay Privacy Policy, Security Overview and Terms of Service, click here." That link goes to the Legal page.
C'mon Fitbit. You know that you are misleading customers.
