Control music for other apps on Charge 3 and Charge 4

I'm guessing I mis-read the features for the Charge 3, but I thought music control was among the upgrades from the Charge 2.  Is this something that is or will be added as an App or feature in the NEAR future?  I was holding off on the purchase strictly for music control feature.  

I actually purchased a $30 non-brand name fitness tracker while waiting for the release of the Charge 3 and even that had the music control feature.  It makes changing songs while running so much easier! Please tell me I'm wrong and there is a way of controlling music from the tracker!

TylerJL, the ability to have more watch face choices would be a great edition but... I doubt it will happen.

Most fitness trackers half the price of the Charge 3 have this feature. It seems absolutely nonsensical that the Charge 3 doesn't have it. If Fitbit adds it, it would make it a near perfect device. Fitbit studio support would make it the perfect Fitbit IMO, despite its limitations, however, I know that will probably never happen because Fitbit wants to keep their smartwatch orientated devices separate.

Just purchased the charge 3 and I'm sorta sad that I could not find anything to control Spotify with while working out 😞

This would be an essential/awesome addition if it were to be implemented

A great way for listening to music from Bluetooth speakers/headphones and changing tracks from fitband! Please add  this option!

This is main feature of almost every watches/sport-trackers to be able to control music.

1) It's kind of annoying to see people coming here and commenting without reading.

2) They already implemented a solution, it's only for Android at the moment, and it needs work, but they are implementing this.

3) In my testing of this feature, I get a notification every single time a song changes. This isn't as helpful as I'd hoped, so I'm looking forward to a refinement of this feature. I wonder if it were possible to just have a single notification that says spotify is playing and provide the controls, I don't need to see what song is playing on my watch -- if I care that much I will open my phone.

4) I've disabled this feature for the time being because I use spotify so often that my notifications will get filled up with hundreds of spotify notes and I lose the ability to track any other notification.

It's not working for me either...have a Samsung galaxy 8...is this because it doesn't work with Amazon music (which is what I use)

If I used Spotify would it link with it?

It’s kinda annoying to see the same post about one device when there are other devices /OS’s out there. It should work for EVERYONE on all platforms. FYI Spotify disabled notifications in iOS a long time ago.

It’s amazing to me that if it works for a few people that no one else matters. I paid for my device just like everyone else for features that were advertised that are still not available such as the O2 sensor. So perhaps let’s all be a little more open minded and sensitive to others here. It’s about all of us, not just a few.

Please do update it with a music control function, it is the best device to use for tracking activity, sleep and all the life, this is the only feature it lacks and it could be made perfect by such a small change. Please.

A way of controlling the music I'm listening while exercising, walking, working, cooking, cleaning... doing day to day stuff.

While listening to music,

on my bluetooth headphones or

on my bluetooth home speakers or in any other device, and I WOULDN'T need to stop to doing what I'm doing to find the phone one the backpack, or because I left it on the living room or just because... the Fitbit charge3 is a good device and to be Great is just a STEP

I too was told my the JBHiFi clerk that the charge 3 I could control music as I ran. That's what made me choose the product as opposed to other ones on the market. Clearly misinformed, still seems like a very common user need I'm very surprised it's not an option!

To be honest, I don't quite know why music control isn't part of all Fitbit
devices. Been music such a big part of exercise and live.
I think Is a small thing that can greatly inprove a already good device.

I had a Garmin Vivosmart for almost 3 years which had music control and waterproof.

After getting old I wanted to renew my watch with a Fitbit Charge 3 taking for granted the fact it was going to give me more features (longer battery, stylish look and more accurate activity and sleep tracking)

For my naive surprise it was giving less features! C'mon, 3 yrs later than Garmin with a higher price and you couldn't make a basic feature like this? After almost 500 people and more than 6 months asking for the feature you haven't been able to develop it? 

Sorry but this is XXI century. I'm turning back my Charge 3 and buying something else, or perhaps turning back to my old Garmin Vivosmart which had everything I needed out of the box.
