Customize frequency of sync (hourly, daily)

Hi, not sure if this has been mentioned or not but I think that a feature for 'timed syncing', or however you want to call it, should be added. For example, theres the all day sync- which kills both phone and tracker battery syncing every 15-20 mins-or whatever its set to. I think we should have a option, for the background/automatic syncing, where we can set our own time intervals for syncing, every hour or 2 hours etc. Or/and, an option that allows us to set times that we would want it to sync at - every day. Ex. Everyday at 6am / 1pm / 6pm.

If this is so important that after 3 years 9 months only 142 have voted, or 4.3 people a month have voted. This request needs more advertisement.

That could be why the developers haven't noticed it.

It sounds like you don't want the tracker to ever sync while you are awake .

Actually Rich_Laue a moderator reviewed this and changed the status back in 2015 shortly after I posted it. It’s a very old post.

Also as far as Bever syncing when I’m awake wasn’t my initial post. That’s what others have stated.

@MargieSC 2015 is 3 years ago theirs thread goes back t0 June of 2014 as I posted above. That doesnt make the vote count go up.

With regards to the lack of attention - the title of the tab says "solved" for me, even though the moderator update only said it was raised with devs or something. Not sure if maybe this is sitting in some kind of void that Fitbit staff can't see.

I actually tweeted fitbit about having this option and they linked me to this post. So, they do know about it but clearly don't care since it's been 4 years...

With only 149 votes (3 votes a month) in almost four years it looks as if the Fitbit users don't care for this option either. Maybe most people are content with background or a sync when opening the app.

While I understand the frustration Fitbit generaly will look at duggestionssthat are popular.

That's a sad way of looking at it. I wonder if the user base is just isn't
technically savvy enough to grasp the benefit.
All I know is that when I have an opportunity, I'll be moving to a
different bio tracker if this PROBLEM isn't solved.

I've already switched away in part due to this concern not being addressed
in a timely fashion. It is unforgivable.

Just get an Apple Watch, by far a superior product. Not being more involved in community feedback is a clear sign of underfunding and early signals of a failing tech company. It will be interesting to see if they can make it another 3 years, while failing to innovate.

I think that would be great. instead of "all day sync" manually set the sync frequency. Also having the ability to force a sync from your fitbit would be nice too. having "all day sync" on is kind of unnecessary imo. the fitbit devices can supposedly hold up to 7 days worth of data before you lose anything. So setting your fitbit to sync once or twice a day should be sufficient. I feel like they need to remove the all day sync option and the stay connected option. constantly havign your fitbit connected to your phone via bluetooth not only drains battery on your fitbit but also on your phone... There only needs to be 3 sync options 2 on the app: scheduled syncing (every 12 hrs or every 24 hrs etc) and the keep-alive widget for the newer android versions who love to force close background processes. And then on the fitbit itself: a "force sync" button or option so you can force sync without having to open your phone.

I'm giving my Fitbit to my Dad, and want to set up the sync default at 1 or 2 times per day. This will not drain the device as rapidly, and will not require my Dad to launch the app in order for me to view his Heart Rate, how much sleep he has gotten or how much he has walked daily!

Love this idea and would like to see it implemented also. Don't need to sync all day on my Versa.

Allday sync is killing my battery and I can't remember to manually sync every day. Suggesting a setting to sync only once a day.

Please enable Fitbit Versa users to schedule a sync at regular intervals or at set times each day or whenever the Fitbit app is accessed.  Currently, the only options are to (1) sync manually, which is frustrating and takes too long, or (2) to enable "all day sync", which drains the cellphone battery so much, it is impractical.  Versa users need more flexibility with sync options.  Any or all of the 3 options I mention in the 1st sentence of this comment would be a huge improvement.  I'm sure there are other ways to provide more flexibility with when and how often to sync.     Thank you!!

I would like the ability to schedule a daily sync with my charge2 on the fitbit mobile app. I think this would be more convenient then the battery draining all day sync and more efficient then remembering to sync it manually.

There should be a way to set time(s) you would like your phone and watch to try to sync (Bluetooth has to be on already). Essentially I want to tell my phone to schedule a sync for the beginning of the day at like 7 and the end of the day at like 9 but not have to have it syncing all day.

Yes...how is this not a feature yet?! I have a versa  and i love it but All day sync kills the battery and manual is a pain.   Please offer scheduled sync so we can pick one or two times a day to sync!

I prefer not to use all day sync and think a great option would be to allow for setting auto sync at certain times of the day or so many hours between. Such as sync every 6 hours (could be whatever # the user wants) or sync at specific times ie. 8 am and 8 pm.
