Decide if you want to delete recent/frequent food entries

1. You can add custom food entries which you can delete via the web interface - please allow deletion of these foods on the apps as well.

2. When you add foods to your recent/frequent list you cannot delete them anymore and so the list just grows and grows. Please let us delete these entries in the apps.

Under consideration for 5 years now and how many people have requested this feature.  FitBit is never going to implement it.  So I have given up on FitBit and moved on to Garmin.

I would like to be able to delete the foods in the "frequent foods" and "most logged" foods lists.  Please implement this feature.

Recovery Runner,
I'm just a Fitbit user/client like you. I don't have any control over the features or how they operate. I do know that by monitoring my own account that foods on frequent list and recent list do eventually drop off after you stop eating them. Some take longer than others dependent on how often you ate those food items. The only list you can delete or add to at will is the custom list.

Hope this helps

Hello Fitbit folks! We really need to be able to edit our frequent and recent food lists in your apps. We need to be able to sort them how we want, and we need to be able to add or delete them how we want. I understand from your forums that this has been a desired feature for many years— do you think you can achieve this in 2020?

It's really not a big ask from a dev standpoint and would (I think) be a significant improvement in your apps' UX/UI 🙂 thanks!! Tyler

Hi @tylerpreston, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about making frequent and recent food lists editable, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is currently Under Consideration.

Tyler, well said. To my knowledge Fitbit has never responded to anybody’s suggestions to help with this problem. The least they could do is reply, “yes, no, maybe”. I really like my Fitbit but I’ve seriously been considering checking Apple’s watches.

why can't you delete the "most recent food" list.  you can delete foods when logged but you cannot delete in the most recent list.  The most recent list grows and grows and grows and it is not the most recent food list, but a list of all food.  I should have got an apple watch.  Looks like fit bit users have been asking for this basic function since 2015 but fit bit does nothing.

That’s exactly what I realized after my first post regarding this. But I’ve lost 40 lbs using my Fitbit. Fitbit doesn’t listen but would I be able to do that with Apple? I think yes, maybe.

I, too would like the option to delete the "Most Logged" and "Recent" foods.  New year, new me, new goals, new foods.  I am to the point that I am considering deleting my entire account and starting over.  This seems to be the only way to "fix" the issue if Fitbit will not do it.

Allow delete on frequent and recent searches. Alphabetize these. Why not group into basic meal searches ie. Breakfast, Lunch, dinner and Snacks?? Currently this is getting to be a chore to log. The list is long and sometimes drops items? Also you could get rid of Frequent and just use Recent.

Hi @SunsetRunner, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to delete recent/frequent food entries on the Fitbit app. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about it here. Keep adding these suggestions.

This has been "Under Consideration" for years, it should be re-titled "Under Constipation"

Ha ha, thanks. This is why I rarely participate in any forums. Issues that
appear to be very easy to resolve and would make the customer experience
better, seem to take years. For programing this is a simple sort! Not
rocket science! Oh well.

I have accepted the fact that deleting food items from the recent/frequent list will never be a possibility so i completely ignore those lists and enter everything to the custom food list. That way I can delete food items that are no longer relevant and add food items whenever I want.

If you fail to log food for a period of time, the Frequent tab empties but the Recent tab is still full. This makes zero sense. When I start logging again my Frequents are still going to be my Frequents. Why must I search them again? This is backwards

Hi @NiCast, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see customize whether you want to delete food entries or not on frequent and recent food. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

I didn't ask for the option to delete entries. I asked for the items under
the Frequent tab to NOT disappear after falling to log entries for a short
time. If anything it's the Recent tab that should be erased, not the
Frequent.
Due to the pandemic I've not been consistent with logging food. But when I
start again all my Frequents have disappeared while the Recents remain.
This is not logical. The things I eat frequently will still be the things I
eat frequently even if I don't log them for awhile. None of the things in
my Recent column are frequent foods yet that list remains and I'm forced to
search for the things I eat frequently to fill that list again.

Suggestion : Take the time to put the frequent foods in the custom list and they will be there until you decide to delete them.

*Track and store all food entries in the food log indefinitely, not just 20 frequent and 20 recent.
*Allow easy search of all past food entries.
*Clean up food database -- at least 50% of all barcodes are wrong and a very high percentage of user submitted foods are wrong.

Hi @YojanaFitbit. Great to hear that something's under consideration, but being able to edit/delete recent and frequent food entries wasn't my feature request.

I want the Fitbit Food Log to maintain ALL past food log entries indefinitely, not just 20 recent and 20 frequent foods. And I want it to include a search function that allows me to quickly find and post previous food entries. MFP has this functionality and it works very well. I have it synced to Fitbit, but I still have to use two apps. I want to be able to just use Fitbit.

The Food page on the app now has a large Recipes scroll that cannot be deleted or relocated!!!! It is too large, unwanted and I want to be able to remove it from my app.
