Decide if you want to delete recent/frequent food entries

1. You can add custom food entries which you can delete via the web interface - please allow deletion of these foods on the apps as well.

2. When you add foods to your recent/frequent list you cannot delete them anymore and so the list just grows and grows. Please let us delete these entries in the apps.

Hi @DCNM22, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to decide if you want to delete recent/frequent food entries. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.

The Fitbit users hate the food showing up when they tap to select from the dashboard to enter their calories. The best solution is to go back to earlier version so meals are not there at all. Loyal customers are considering going to another company because they think you are not listening. Fitbit’s adding meals affected the polls and focus groups.

Hello-

I am still hoping for an update that will remove the LOCKED RECIPES from the Food page on the app. Not only does this annoyance turn me off to joining Premium but  I am starting to get turned off to FitBit entirely. There are plenty of off other health tracker on the market that take the customers feedback seriously.

When logging foods on my Android FitBit app and I go to search because I don't see an item in my Frequent or Recent, it would be helpful if the app first suggested foods that I've previously logged _at some point_, rather than the entire inventory of options. Eg: a search for "Bread" would result in the first result being the one I've logged before

I have a few questions/feedback:

I know that I can create a custom meal in Fitbit, but rather than a meal, I would like to create a whole recipe, and then choose to log a serving of that recipe.  As it is now, if I create a custom meal based off of a recipe, like a pot of soup that creates 6 servings, I have to do the math to divide each individual ingredient by 6 so that it will equal the actual serving size.  I am wondering if there is an app development underway to allow us to create a whole recipe and log 1/6 of the recipe or while creating it, note how many servings the recipe makes and log 1 serving of it?

Also, once I create a meal and log it for the day, if I want to delete it, instead of allowing me the option to delete the whole meal, I have to go through and delete each ingredient individually.  I like having the option to delete the individual ingredients, but it would be better to have both options, the individual delete and the wholesale delete.  It doesn't take that much extra time, but enough to be annoying.

Last comment, I understand that the app is tracking my food intake and activity in real time, which is pretty cool, but I would also like to be able to pre-track meals for the day to make a more efficient use of my time when I know what's for dinner.  Currently, if I pre-track food and mark it as "dinner" in the app during my lunch break, my Meal Plan swings all the way from Under Target to Over Target because of the time of day I am logging.  Will there ever be an option to log food in advance where it doesn't affect the Meal Plan results like that?  I am wanting to exclusively use the FitBit app for my health and nutrition programming, but these concerns make it just un-user-friendly enough that it doesn't feel efficient enough to fully make the switch.

Thanks!

Make the food list able to be deleated
making an item go away I no longer eat
OR It will stop duplication of foods already on the list
IF I could remove it

I would also like the ability to delete frequent and recent foods.  The list does become too long.  Thank you.

1. Recent foods should contain all foods since the beginning of logging (or at least 3 months).
2. Same thing for frequent foods.
3. Some foods can be found by barcode, but not by name (e.g. Bio Gallette de Grano Saraceno).
4. Copy Food and Copy Meal function, where I could copy an item or the whole meal e.g. from yesterday to today.

So, this suggestion is 6 years old.

Any movement on this? Because basic user content management is UX 101 here, fellas.

Fitbit,

My suggestion was very basic.....and would be very helpful.

1. Alphabetize the food list to make what you are looking for easier.

2. Give us the ability to delete foods that we no longer eat from the food
list.

Thankyou

So hear we are, 2021 and yet they still cannot write the code to allow deletion of frequent or recent food items since 2014. It's still in consideration. Please just hire a 12 year old coder to write this so we can be in the 2021 universe which let's you delete things you add to apps. SMH

Pleave give us the option to add/remove meal titles. Many off people only eat twice or even once a day. I don't need my log cluttered with 6 other meal titles.

This has become more than just an annoyance. It has been more than seven years since this issue has be identified by users. I have food items in my frequent list I have not consumed in months, and items in my recent list disappear daily while older items remain. I am constantly scanning items into the database only to rescan the next day. Enough with the platitudes; fix this already!

Why has this problem not been resolved.....simple programming issue!

@YojanaFitbit I think you have misunderstood what I was asking. I want to delete Meal Titles, example: "Breakfast" "Lunch" "Dinner", and all the useless "Snacks". I and I'm sure many others only eat once a day and honestly I don't know who needs to snack 3 times a day. But to each their own.  I don't want to have the log clutter with "Meal Time Slots" I don't use. I wish to delete them all and just have one if I so choose and to custom name it. It would make logging a lot simplier.

I understand what you are saying. I believe the

bigger issue is not being able to delete previously

added foods to the frequent list. Also the foods

you do want to save should be saved alphabetically

by category.

@C-N-K I completely agree! In the past I have asked for the same thing. I suppose it was wishfull thinking to ask for another quality of life update. It seems any request is a pipe dream at this point. Just to clarify, I didn't purposely put my request here, it was moved by admin. I guess this is where request and useful suggestions come to die. Might have to start looking for another tracking app at this point.

Both these lists fill up and then cease to be of any use. The "Recent" list should have what I ate yesterday at the top of list today. The "Frequent" list should have the 1% Milk and breakfast cereal I have eaten every morning since I bough my Sense at the top of the list. And we should be able to delete individual items.

These ARE NOT the same, Yojana.

We need the lists to work properly - I am entering 95 percent of what I eat manually over and over again because the lists ARE NOT WORKING as they should.

THE PROBLEM (again): The "Recent and Frequent" lists do not populate or sort correctly.  You have been considering a (very poor) work around since 2015??

An item delete is merely a "nice to have" but SHOULD IN NO WAY BE CONSIDERED A SOLUTION TO THE BROKEN LISTS PROBLEM.

I need to see some serious improvement to the food app (graphing is broken too) soon or I am jumping ship and I will do it loudly.
