It would be very useful if the screen on the inspire hr displayed how many lengths you have swum or the distance whilst swimming so could keep track whilst in the pool.
Thanks for taking the time to share your idea with everyone. Being able to see that information could be definitely very useful for all kinds of swimmers.
I bought the inspire hr specifically for tracking the laps I swim in the pool. We track them and record them. Since I can not see the laps on the inspire hr, I have to get out of the pool go to my locker, synch with my phone, find out how many laps I swam and go back into the pool area to record the laps. This is tremendously aggravating because 1) I set goals for myself and would like to know whether I have reached my goal or how many more laps I need to go before i have reach my goal before getting out of the pool. The current method leaves me disappointed because most times either I have not reached my goal or have gone over it and spent more time in the pool then I wanted. 2) Going back into the pool area is very inconvenient and sometimes I forget to do it. Therefore my laps are not recorded. Again very aggravating.
Really would make sense to be able to see laps / distances while swimming! I am disappointed it is not possible! Also, since the touchscreen does not seem to respond to wet hands properly, the best would be to also have the feature to set a distance goal for swimming (same as for walking) and be notified by the vibrations when it is reached.
The Inspire HR really isn't useful while swimming. I tried a Samsung Galaxy Fit just before buying an Inspire HR. It allowed showing the laps and the elapsed time in big enough digits to see it while swimming. I was surprised that the Inspire HR can't keep the display on all the time, and can't show the lap count until you finish and look at it on the phone's app. When swimming many laps, it's easy to lose count. The only reason I went with the Inspire HR is because all the info is available both on the phone app and on fitbit.com.
I've recently purchased an Inspire HR specifically for tracking swimming. But was surprised and disappointed that the lap counter isn't displayed while in use. I would find that more useful as the most prominent display rather than the timer. Every pool I've regularly been to has at least once clock on the wall, but it is stupidly easy to lose count of exactly how many laps you've done.
To accommodate the small screen size, perhaps the best option would be to have laps vs time on two 'pages' you can swipe between.
Yup totally agree with this. Just got the new versa 3 and considering returning it as it doesn’t count live laps and swimming is the main thing I do. As you said there’s a great big clock on the wall. I don’t need to know the time. I do however lose count of my lengths so I need to know that.
why make a watch for swimming that doesn’t count what you’ve done?!its infuriating. It’s such an easy fix for them to provide.
i think unfortunately Fitbit aren’t really for proper sport anymore. They now seem to be a gimmick product for “wellbeing” and steps. The rest of the market outweighs them by miles and this will be the last one I get.
Just got a new Versa 3 primarily for exercising. I swim every other day and I wanted the Versa 3 so I could count my laps, just like the old Versa. But I discovered that "laps" don't show on the watch face, while I swim , and I have to go back to my phone at the end of the day to confirm my laps.
I am now considering returning the Versa 3, since it doesn't do what was promised!
