Do not remove Challenges & Adventures! A lot us use these features to motivate us and connect. My kids are able to connect and do challenges with their friends too.
Did corporate fire the people that were handling the challenges on the app? Removing these features will eliminate one of the useful and fun parts of fitbit. I would reexamine the interest and benefits of the community to Google and make a statement in short order that group challenges will be restored. Otherwise watch your customers move to Apple, Garmin or free apps like Stridekick. I have no reason to purchase another fitbit and will look at other fitness wear systems.
Please don’t remove the challenges. It’s the main reason I have a fitbit and not another watch. It connects people and makes us work harder!! Thank you for considering it.
I Agree Totally. I participate regularly in challenges with a group of friends I have never met . They are from all over the world. The only reason my wife and I have kept with Fitbit is because of this group of friends. In fact it is only because of this that we have put up with repeated software glitches, inability to read comments and poor physical quality of the kit. If you get rid of challenges we will not stay with Fitbit. Why would we?
Specifically please don't remove the BINGO Challenge! My 80+ mother in law joins in several times a month and beats me everytime!!!!! We need the challenge to keep us motivated!!!!! Begging: PLEASE KEEP THE BINGO CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!! Thank you
This has really made me unhappy. It was a truly great thing to race with other people across the world. There was so much motivation alone in the little app race, first thing in the morning and everyone’s scores will update and then it’s time to do more steps.
Please don’t remove challenges!!! So much fun and too important as a motivational tool. When I first joined fitbit 7 years ago, I barely completed 5,000 steps per day every day. The challenges were integral to my fitness improvement such that I now average 25,000+ steps per day.
I was shocked and saddened to see that challenges are being discontinued. I am involved in 2-3 challengers per week, which is a good motivator. Challanges promote fitness and community support. I would think FitBit would want to support users supporting each other to achieve goals.
Hoping the Google powers that be change their minds to keep challenges.
I bought a Fitbit for the challenges and got 6 other family members to buy Fitbits so that we could do the challenges together. If challenges are removed, we will no longer buy Fitbits in the future.
The only reason why my family continue to buy fitbit is to do the challenges with or family and friends. Without it we can use any fitness watch. I hope you all reconsider.
I have been a Fitbit enthusiast since 2014. I am so deeply upset about this feature loss. I bought the sense 2 with 3 year warranty and a year of premium. All for what? To not be able to use bingos and challenges that I have paid for. To now be envious of all the features of a Garmin? Complained to customer service. They said there is no reimbursement for my prepaid premium membership and offered a discount on a new Fitbit... So disappointed. I feel completely scammed!
I figured Fitbit was trying to go out of business by removing all its functionality and alienating users. Dispite the fact I want Fitbit to remain, I have to admit erasing signature features has been a pretty good strategy as more than half my list of Fitbit friends have recently gone inactive. Boom! Silicon Valley Bank just showed you how to do it. Lets Go James Park, your move!
Hi I’m considering Apple Watch, which works worth the Adidas runner app. Any ideas about that app? I’ll buy :watch:️ regardless because ich time I look at this google (Fitbit) I may get pissed off.
I agree 100%! I get the feeling that they really just want to kill Fitbit all together, pushing people to google…. But for me, I’ll just get an Apple Watch.
I don't understand the silence from Fitbit over all these concerns. I also don't understand how Fitbit/Google can call challenges an "under utilized" function with hundreds upon hundreds of people proving they use challenges weekly. It just boggles my mind.
There's no response from FitBit/Google because they do not care. They. Do. Not. Care. It was clear from the original email they sent, announcing the change. Basically, "Don't let the door hit you on the way out." I was hoping they may listen and reconsider, but they aren't going to. They are likely assuming that in the future they'll pick up enough new users (that don't know the history) and that will make up for their current losses. In the end, it is clear they aren't concerned about retaining current users.
If challenges are removed from the Fitbit app, my next health tracker will be a Garmin. Challenges allow me to stay connected to family and encourage physical activity. Please do not remove them.
I think this is a major downgrade as myself and my family/friends do the Weekend Warrior and Workweek Hustle every week for years. It is how we stay connected and enjoy friendly competition as we work on our step goals. Since these features are already in place I'd imagine the only costs to this feature are maintenance costs. A worthwhile investment to keep customers who use this feature daily. I hope this decision is reversed otherwise I will likely switch smart watches when my current ones goes bad. I find that my Fitbit device usually goes bad just after the two year warranty passes. I see the Garmin watches last 5-7 years. Much longer than FItbit and they offer challenges!
@Rawn13 I agree with you a 100% that Challenges and adventures aren't underutilized and tthat is the lie that Google fitbit is using as the reason why they are being removed. If they were underutilized there wouldn't
