Do not remove Challenges & Adventures! A lot us use these features to motivate us and connect. My kids are able to connect and do challenges with their friends too.
I've been a Fitbit user for over 10 years and one of the main reasons I've stuck with it while others switched to Garmin or Apple was because of the challenges. Discontinuing the challenges is disturbing, but what really irks me is that you are so abrupt in your announcement. You are not giving any reasons for stopping them and although you say you will continue to upgrade the app with new features, yet you don't give any indications of what these new features will be, nor do you give a timeline for their introduction. Poor communications. 😞
I really believe that taking the challenges away is a wrong move!! I know that if this happens I will no longer use Fitbit! I really enjoy the challenge feature and have recently been using it more! It takes the motivation out of fitness tracking!! Please reconsider your decision! Really don’t care about the trophies or adventures just really love the challenges!!
Hello All, I keep seeing people ask for alternatives and I would highly suggest Garmin. They have a great Challenge system and I've been enjoying my Garmin Watch that replaced my Fitbit. Garmin has a wide variety of weekly/monthly challenges and the option to create your own if the pre-made monthly/weekly ones aren't to your liking, these challenges even custom made one support groups which is a big ask I keep seeing in this thread. Garmin also offers a wide variety of watches/trackers and varying price points.
We're also REALLY disappointed about losing the challenges. We do a challenge every week and every weekend! We're also considering dropping Fitbit for other watches.
This is the most disappointing news, and challenges are one of the reasons I'm a loyal Fitbit user.
Nearly every week for the last 2 years, My husband, sister, and a few of our friends and I have had a running challenge- either the Workweek Hustle or the Weekend Warrior (or Bingo, back when it was free). It kept us all motivated to keep moving, even when we were tired, or just weren’t feeling it.
In fact, on many occasions, it motivated me to spend an extra hour on the treadmill to catch up and overtake my sister’s 7,000-step lead. Afterward, I felt accomplished and motivated (a feat of athleticism that my 280lb self does not experience regularly!) It was also a great way to keep in touch on a daily basis and encourage one another.
After my Charge 3 died about a year ago, I upgraded to the Charge 5. Since then, it has been fraught with glitches and is not nearly as user-friendly. The only thing keeping me as a Fitbit user was the Challenges. When they’re gone, we’ll start exploring other brands. Terrible decision Fitbit.
We need to spread the word on getting people to like this post. There are millions of fitbit users and only a thousand some likes so far. we're going to need a lot more people on board to make Google even begin to reconsider this decision.
So, has there been any response from Google or Fitbit? I can't believe that they have been so silent on this subject! Between the petitions and the comments, you'd think they'd address SOMETHING but as far as I can see, it's crickets. Somebody direct me to their post if I've missed it.
I think the message from Google/Fitbit is pretty clear! Didn’t answer anything . . . Not going to answer anything. Their mind’s made up, they’re GOING to cancel what they said they would cancel; if we all leave, they DON’T CARE!
Seriously, I started becoming a paid Premium Subscriber just to do FitBit bingo. I bought both of my sisters a Fitbit just to play Bingo with me. I've had an iPhone since 2007 and last year my husband tried to give me an Apple Watch. I said no because I love FitBit Challenges. What the hell are you doing people? This was your best feature!
I came to say the same thing that literally thousands of others have said. Challenges are what separates Fitbit from it's competitors. My friends and family and myself use these challenges daily and weekly. It's a fun competitive spirit that really makes getting steps in fun. Like others, without the Challenges I will probably just use the health tracker on my smart phone.
@aronek83 You are right that you can do Challenges on Stridekick however if your someone who likes Bingo that isn't an option on Stridekick. Plus the 5 limit Challenges and the 72 hours to sync after a challenge ends may or may not work if you are in a group that does multiple challenges a week.
Im really sad about the idea of challenges no longer being offered. It is the only reason I stay with Fitbit. I spend hours each week planning and organizing challenges for several groups..I do this for hundreds of people across several Fitbit accounts. Motivating others is what I love. The idea that Fitbit is removing challenges, un-motivates me 😳
Challenges was the only reason I had a premium membership and the removal of this will mean that I end my premium membership at the end of this month and I may also consider a different brand next time.
Except that they WILL RUIN Google alternatives. No one will want to buy either FitBit or Google watches. I certainly will go to another brand due to their bad faith.
I don't think any one is going to trust them after this I will definitely switch to another brand because I don't trust them anymore after this if they would at least let us users know if they are going to replace challenge and adventures with something else that had better be really mind blowing users might not leave but not knowing what they are going to do know one that does challenges regularly is going to stick around.
This is such a backwards way to approach this. You have a feature that lots of people enjoy using and you've decided to just get rid of it? What's the point of this anyways? Will Google just decide to get rid of Fitbit altogether. This will be my last Fitbit or Google product if the trend continues to be removing key features.
