Do not remove Challenges & Adventures! A lot us use these features to motivate us and connect. My kids are able to connect and do challenges with their friends too.
It’s absolutely ridiculous! One of the reasons I swapped back from iwatch to Fitbit was because I enjoyed the challenges with friends/family/strangers!!!
The challenges are the only reason I even have a Fitbit anymore. I recently upgraded after my old Fitbit died and I was considering getting a smartwatch instead, but I love being in competitions with my family overseas, so I opted to just get another Fitbit. The gamification of fitness is a huge motivator for me and my family, and we are all extremely disappointed that Fitbit is getting rid of the challenges.
About to come up to my 10-year anniversary so it'll be sad to go. But without the Challenges, where's the value? I wear it to move more. The Bingo game challenges me to move more this hour and this day. The hikes have gotten me to move more over days. Daily and weekly challenges have helped me feel more connected to friends and strangers with the same goals. Getting 10K for 10K's sake isn't enough of a motivation. I like that it tells me my resting hr is down or I'm sleeping more. However, the Fitbit has also made it clear I'm getting those results because of the challenges. And announcing you are taking something valuable away with vague promises of something in the works is so weak. How many different ways can Google announce it cares little for employees and customers?
I love the Work week hustle and weekend warrior. I'll have to find a different ecosystem if you take away my games and motivation to rack up a step count
If this feature is dropped I won't be renewing premium, that's the main driver for my membership. It brings people together, keeps people motivated and encourages healthy competition.
Keep challenges and adventures. It’s 90% of the reason your consumers buy your device. If anything you should be adding onto the challenges and adventures. Not getting rid of them!
Don't get rid of challenges! Just don't!!! I too use them to stay connected to friends and family. It also provides me with gentle motivation to keep moving.
Like a lot of previous commentors, also agree that this seems like fitbit are shooting themselves in the foot, as the only reason most of us have fitbits in our family is to encourage and challenge each other to do better, but without the feature we won't replace our devices as and when they stop working. We'll just find alternative brands that give us those options.
Seriously disgraced with Fitbit getting rid off challenges. I have ran a group since 2019 with over 35 people in it. We do the challenges every single week. I haven’t even met many off these people, but it has brought us together as a community. Been through births, deaths and marriages. Supported each other and that been all through Fitbit challenges getting us together. We compete against each other every week and have weekly results and awards. Encourage those that don’t do so well, as well as those that hit the top spot practically every week. We have been through lockdowns together, keeping each other going. None of the above would have happen if it hadn’t been for challenges. The whole point of Fitbit against any other brand was to build communities and now you have just destroyed it!!
The challenges are the ONLY reason I keep using Fitbit. I've been in various Workweek Hustle and Bingo challenges weekly for ages now, they are incredibly motivating to me and my friends. If these go away I will likely just buy an Apple Watch, as I don't see the allure of using the Fitbit in isolation.
Wow what a stupid idea. Fitbit was a leader of the fitness apps. People(most of the time) get these wearables to compete and use the challenges. It would be no different than apple watch except the hardware is way way worse. You can kiss a lot of your user base goodbye if you don’t reconsider.
Well, here I am, another longtime Fitbit user, ever since it was first released saying DO NOT remove challenges!! Other than keeping track of my steps, it's the best feature of my fitbit experience and I will seriously consider not purchasing another one. On the whole, our family has probably purchased about 15 Fitbit products over the years, more if you count family and friends. Maybe the main claim that challenges use is low is because y'all buried how to even get to them. Seems like you're just looking at results and not thinking why it's not working. Guess what, it works, you just buried a good feature that's all. Also, I don't come onto forums much to put in my 2 cents so please take that under advisement as well, there are many of us who would like this feature to continue. Thank you!
I purchased my parents, I laws, husband and child Fitbit’s and premium memberships for Christmas so they can do challenges and adventures with me. It’s so motivating and fun. I’ve met amazing people across the globe who have motivated me these past few months. Getting rid of these is ridiculous. Why? Why take all the fun away. You will be losing a lot of people if this happens. I’m already shopping for a new Apple Watch.
Are we all going to be able to get refunds for our devices if the challenges/trophies go away? It seems like false advertising to sell a product that offers these features, then do away with said features with only a month's notice that they'll be disappearing. It'd be one thing to say they'll be phasing it out a few years from now so people can get more of their money's worth from current devices and figure out/budget for an alternate device for when the time comes. The challenges and trophies aren't some small feature no one uses - they are the very reason so many of us bought the device in the first place. It's like buying a range only to find out after a few months of ownership that the manufacturer is coming to your house to cart away your oven and leaving you with only a stove... when some are bakers, not cooks, and only wanted the range FOR the oven. Not okay.
I have stayed with fitbit for the challenges and adventures. It keeps me motivated and encouraged. The support through the challenges is amazing as well.
PLEASE keep the challenges feature, I am an avid user of this feature. It is highly motivating for myself and friends. I have worn my fitbit daily since 2018 only removing to shower, but I will consider an alternative device if this is removed. What's next, the sleep feature?
I can not believe the one thing that really set them aside from the rest they chose to get rid of. Crazy and disappointing. There are so many other companies out there and none have a feature and community like this.
The removal of the challenges is very disappointing and I believe would be a huge mistake...Google/Fitbit need to listen to the feedback from its users. Myself and my family use the challenges weekly and find them very motivating. I bought my both my sons a Fitbit for Christmas so that they could join in! I have been a loyal Fitbit user since 2016 and if this change goes ahead I will not buy a Fitbit in future.
This is absolutely ridiculous! Who thought of these thoughtless actions! What about our contracts and subscriptions? The challenges and badges are my motivation and the main reason I’ve stayed alone with meeting friends! Y’all will be losing lots of customers! Improve these features, but don’t take them away because we will be going away with them!
I've been a loyal Fitbit user. This is my third year . Over the years through challenges, I have made connections with people who have literally become like family.
Getting rid of challenges is horrible! They are what motivates us to keep moving! We encourage and inspire each other. Removing these features will break up families we have built which is devastating. The only reason I bother with premium is for Bingo. You are already losing so many members just in this one day. If you go through with this RIP. Nobody will want to participate anymore. I used to live you Fitbit. So disappointed. Will not be purchasing another Fitbit in the future.
