Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

Upvote I agree with. More comments of they are simply crying that I need this, is not helpful .Before making a comment, think of yourself as a lawyer presenting your case to a judge for consideration .

Personally i see no problem not having this feature. but would like the ability for the set active hours to be able to cross midnight.

Why does not having the ability to change the days reset time not bother me? Simply because 24 hours is 24 hours .I don't care if part of my awake time of the day happens to be shifted from the norm .Also when it comes to challenges this feature will not affect any challenge that the user joins in, but might freak out any user that joins a challenge created by a user not using the correct timezone. Or should challenges simply ignore this offset and only go by the creatures real timzone. Ether way it would still be 24 hours.

I kind of like when I'm in last place of a challengchwhen everyone else goes to bed .Then before midnight I get 13K more steps and another 14K before my challengers wake up .My challengers have been awake 2-3 hours before I sync and jump past 7 of them to move into 1st place .

Now when I wake up 5 hours later I find iveI'fallen back to 3rd place.

I so would like to set my active hours from 5pm to 6am when I usually get anywhere from 16 to 24K of steps.

Makes counting calories a pain not counting steps. My work is busy. I do
not have time to seat and figure them out plus I have medical issue for
having to do this simple fix.

I should be able to choose when my fitbit resets the data.  I work past 12am and my day typically ends around 4am.  When I wake up each day I have steps, cals, floors, etc. Logged from the night before.  If I could control my reset time for 4am I'd have more accurate data for myself.

It's now almost May of 2018, and we still don't have an option to set when our day starts. My day doesn't usually start until 6pm, so my data is never correct! Please please consider this! With all the awesome technology put into these, I find it so hard to believe your techs can't write code to allow us to choose when our day starts!

@RiskyontheRocks instead of starting the request over from 1 did you add your vote to the existing suggestion.

Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / AddNightshift

It really doesn't need a change in the end of day if Fitbit allowed

Allow night shift reminders to move

I see that there now is a request to automate the process.

Base "days" on sleep patterns

I added my vote two years ago, was hoping adding another request might
start it up again. Can't believe something still hasn't been done!

Yes it will start it up again, from 1, and split the future votes making the request even less likely to happen .

I can't believe if this is doswanted that it only gets a little more than 400 votes a year, of course this is after combining miremthan a dozen individual requests

I work overnight, and sleep during the day which means i am more active at 0000 then at 1200.  My breakfast meal is at 1600, when I wake up.

It would be extremely helpful to allow custom start times, or even just the option for the step count to restart at 1200 instead of 0000.

A very important feature, I almost consider this as a bug. My stats are always messed-up since I exercise around midnight and my day is never over at midnight. I would like to edit the reset time of the daily status also. In my case that would be around 05.00.

Please add a feature to allow users to set their day divide.  My day typically ends around 2:30am.  Fitbit Charge 2

Thank you.

Hi, I have posted this before, as have thousands of other FitBit users. Apparently, FitBit doesn't care, but WE do, so I'm suggesting it again (as my previous suggestion was closed). Please make the 24 hr day variable instead of set to 00:00-23:29. OR extend the active hours to 24. Someone else suggested adding reminders to all hours the FitBit isn't detecting sleep, which is even better. Many of us work irregular hours, not all have day jobs. I would say when all industries are taken into account, offshift workers outnumber 9-5ers. Please fix. It can't be that hard. Remember, FitBit is not the only player out there.

I've been waiting for this feature for a very long time. Very annoying, my day never ends at 12 and all the steps etc go into the following day causing bad metrics - and since i have Fitbit integrated with a lot of stuff, it messes up my stats everywhere - and there hasn't been any changes to this issue in the multiple years since it's come up.

FITBIT PLEASE NOTE - we don't care if challenges with other people or other community features start with the default time etc (though it would be a nice to have) - what we really care is that our activity gets properly logged for our uses. There really should be no difference if I want to set my logging period to go from 2am to 2am instead.

There are a bunch of devices that do this and I am seriously thinking of moving to another device this year because of this issue and lack of resolution. Please do this.

I agree. It messes with my apps as well and my husband and I are trying to have a baby and my ovulation tracker connects to my Fitbit but messes up because I work from 10pm-6am so just 2 hours into my shift my stats get restarted, throwing off the food intake, water intake, exercise for my ovulation app

I work until 2:15 am. As does a large chunk of the world. People work past midnight. I woke up just shy of noon today and myfitnesspal informed me I forgot to log my breakfast. I never know how many steps I actually walk in one of my days because it's always split between two actual days. My nutrition for myfitnesspal. My steps. My miles. All of it resets part way through my work day. You guys should add a setting where you can be like "I don't want to reset at midnight. Reset at 7 am instead." We live in a 24 hour world. People work late. It'd be nice if our fit bit was deisigned around that fact

I have a variable schedule and sometimes work nights (5 PM to 5 AM). It would be nice to be able to change what time my day starts. Especially with steps and calories burned! It's difficult to gauge my calorie allowance when my trackers reset in the middle of my day!!

I am an RN and I work night shift. It’s aggravating that there is no way to edit the way my Fitbit tracks steps so that it will include my whole shift, instead of resetting at midnight. A lot of time I will reach my activity goal but it doesn’t seem like it because my steps are split. If this was a feature it would be amazing!

I work 3rd shift and I would appreciate to set my settings to be up at night and sleep during the day.

I work nights and do a lot of walking on my job. I currently have to keep track of the steps I take before midnight and add them to the steps after midnight. It would be great if I could change the reset hour to a time that would track all my steps for my time awake. Also I can not step hourly step tracker to remind me before and after midnight. I see there have been several suggestions for this type of update, I have several people at work that have considered getting a fit bit. It would be a great selling point if the times could be adjusted to fit our schedule.

Should person can chose when his day is start and when done 24 hr cuz ther are a night shif maybe from 9 pm to 7 A.M so the watch can’t calculate the calories in that day

A new feature that allows you to track your activity and food over the actual time period that you are awake, not just until midnight for a standard calendar day. For those of us who work over night and sleep most of the day, we don't have an accurate log of calorie intake / output because steps for example are logged over the course of "two days". Possibly, a setting to change the hours in "our day". This feature could have a log option that reads (Mon 7/2 - Tues 7/3), (Tues 7/3 - Wed 7/4), etc. to depict the time period we are logging if for example we wake up at 8pm, work, and then go to sleep at 12pm.

It would be nice to adjust when our day starts and ends. i work overnight Midnight to midnight doesnt work for me. . So my day is split up to half on one day and half the next.

Also my hourly reminders for 250 steps, cant be changed to track past midnight, or two different periods of time, such as 6 to midnight and midnight to 9

I work the night shift and the app will only allow me to set activity hours for half of my shift. We need to either be able to set split activity times, or be able to log activity through midnight. My current work shift is 5pm to 7am and i would like to be able to log all of my active hours.

Day reset occurs every midnight, it would be great if you could change reset time and set it at 6 am instead of midnight
