Edit distance for all activities with the Android, Win app and the web

Now that the iOS users are able to edit distance of a recorded exercise, may we on Android, Windows phones, and through the Web Portal, please also have this ability?

This would be very helpful for stationary activity as in spinning, elyptical, treadmill, etc.

Thank you for considering making the experience consistent for all users.

Bump to edit time of a workout on Android or on the desktop

So sad that the cheaper xiaomi band allow you to edit distance/time and the more expensive charge 3 does not...

Any updates?

I never cease to be impressed by how rushed and feature-incomplete Fitbit's software seems. Issues like this are why I will almost certainly not buy another Fitbit as my next fitness tracker.

Hi @sootwasher, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to edit distance of different activities. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

Have there been any updates on this feature request? My treadmill workouts are laughably inaccurate, and the faster I run, the more inaccurate they get. It's crazy to me that we don't have control over our own data to update it and make it more accurate where better tracking tools exist. I can't imagine I'll buy another FitBit after this one bites the dust in large part because of this glaring feature deficiency.

Many times the distance isn't properly recorded. There is no option to edit what was recorded, only delete it. When I delete it and manually enter the activity, it does not allow for SECONDS, only FULL whole minutes to be entered.

We really need an option to edit a treadmill run as for whatever reason when I run on the treadmill it totally ignores my manually entered stride length. Yesterday I ran just over 11km on my treadmill. My stride length while running is 1.24 meters, Fitbit reported the distance as 9.78km which works out at as stride of 1.08 meters. So why isn't it using the manually entered stride length. Being able to manually edit the distance it a good work around.

@hartley95uk you left out the most important stat, what was the a accuracy of your fitbit counted steps?

Are there any updates on this feature? It has been requested for years now.

It is ridiculous that this edit functionality, which has been available for iOS users for YEARS, and has been requested by Android/Windows users for YEARS still has not come to fruition. Many times, after a great and relaxing yoga session, I have forgotten to stop my tracking, and the fact that there is no way to edit the stop time leaves me frustrated. The only way to correct it currently is to delete the session and enter it manually thus losing the heart rate and active minute data. This is poor customer service, and should be addressed ASAP.

I should have read this topic before I bought my fitbit charge 4, that is a dealbreaker for me. I mostly use treadmill, and I can't edit my distance, so my data is inaccurate. My previous cheap tracker allowed me to do that. Very disappointed. Will never buy fitbit more.

Wow, I can't believe there are so many requests for this for years now and nothing has been  done about it. What makes the topic even worse is that the feature was given to iOS users and not Android user, showing that this should not be a difficult thing to implement. I would think modifying any data would be a basic feature. This isn't like a game that we want to "cheat". It is data about our own activities and if there still seems to exist  inaccuracies of fitbit measurements, modifications seem essential. Seeing how people modify their data would also be free data to developers to improve the product. I am definitely in need of a feature to modify my workouts using Android.

@Meiya where do you see so many requests. I 117 votes or about 38 votes a year. Usually a request needs at least 650 before Fitbit will consider.

I also believe this option may have been removed from iOS.

This feature was asked for in 2019 and it is now 2021.  Why is getting this added so seemingly impossible for android users?  We're asking to be able to edit the mileage so it's correct, not launch a rocket.

@RedSunflower82 it doesn't have have enough traffic or votes to get the attention of the developers.

116 votes, plus the request making 117, this includes my vote.

Normally 600+ votes are needed before the developers will consider a suggestion.

Fitbit has 29.57 million users.

Simply get 500-550 more voted.

Why is that, because Fitbit isn't adding a feature that hardly anyone has asked for?

Lately, as in 3 times this year, Fitbit has addef features that users) 400 to more than a thousand) are asking for, only to be greeted with why did Fitbit add this stupid feature. Hint: because you users requested it.

On the past we had over 2000 requests for a game on the Charge 2. Fitbit added a game, and many users where annoyed. When the option to play the game popped up.

Why should Fitbit add a feature that they already know only a few want.

Agreed. Switched to Garmin and it was the best decision ever.

ps. You can edit the distance on Garmin 😉

It wouldn’t be bad if it actually used the manually added stride length. Seems that it uses a couple of times then reverts back to what it thinks it should be calculated from your height and weight. My 10k treadmill runs end up anywhere from 10k when i edit the stride length to 9k a couple of runs later!  What’s the point having a manual entry if it gets ignored. Just allow users to edit the distance at the end if the run, just like Garmin, Huawei and many others.

Btw for those who say you can edit the distance in iOS can someone show me where that option is as the only thing editable is start and finish times when I look.

Cheers.

Please allow us to manually edit the distance after using the exercise function on our fitbits as my stride length changes during my treadmill workoutsso my stride length will constantly change) and does not give an accurate measurement.

This is legit insane, the backend obviously supports it (since ios has had the feature for ages) so there is no excuse for not supporting it on android. I swim and about 10-20% of my swim is using a kickboard, ofc the watch can't track that (understandably), but what that means is that my exercise is always 10-20% off....it is unacceptable that this feature doesn't exist.
