Emergency Contact Button or SOS Call (or sound)

As a woman, walking, running and biking alone can be dangerous. Is it possible to have an emergency alert button that shows the contact of my choice or the authorities a location and SOS signal? The Gear 2 has it in place and I loved it. You push a button 3 times to send the alert.

i want alarms to be audible not just vibration...and if they could play diff tunes all the better..but at least beep and then i should be able to see on watch what the reminder is for.

To have an alert button to hit which would send a designated contact your GPS location and that you are needing assistance

As a widow living alone, I wish I could opt for my fitbit to alert a chosen contact if my fitbit did not register steps for one day. Thus, even if I would fall, I know someone would be alerted to check on me.

Panic / SOS and fall detection has been an asked feature since 2017. Unfortunatly it's still not implemented but it has by other brands. I really dont understand why such an easy to make feature (the hardware is there) wont be added. An accident can always happen and safety and health go hand in hand. So yes, I vote for this feature too but I'm at a point where I need a new smartwatch and the SOS alert is one of the main features that I want and need.

I'm looking at a Garmin now since the Samsung watches seem to have waterproof issues. Really wanted to buy a Sense for my next watch:(. If you guys are thinking of implementing it please let me know! I would wait then in buying something new.

Versa 2 has an app where you can press the button and sends an immediate sign for help. With Versa 3 this app feature isn't available. Which is a shame as I love my watch and want to make the most of it.

I was wondering if we could have a safety feature where you could trigger the Fitbit to send your GPS location to emergency contacts or even emergency services.

This thread has been in existence for four years. There are cheap trackers on the market which were made for children and seniors which have some version of a way for the wearer to call for help, so we know it could easily be added to Fitbit devices. I started with a Flex 10 years ago and stuck with it until recently for a variety of reasons. So many people I know have changed and all too often they cite safety as a primary concern. There is a real need for ANYONE who's ever alone to be able to call for emergency assistance quickly and easily. Anyone can fall off of a ladder or trip getting in or out of the shower. Anyone can fall exercising outside alone.

I've posted this elsewhere. It was suggested this was a more appropriate place for post...thank you..

I've been trying to figure out a way to use Versa 3 for emergency calls or texts.

Specifically I am thinking about a situation where somebody may have fallen or left their phone in bluetooth range but not be able to reach it. As far as I can see it's not quite there.

One idea would be to allow an outward phone call to a predefined number or numbers on watch. Most of the functionality appears to be there but right now its not possible.

Alternatively you could reply to a "sticky" notification on watch that was previously sent. This can be done now but only if you have an unread notification and as far as I can see notifications disappear as soon as you have read them so this method would be very unreliable unless there was some way of "keeping" a notification message.

Food for thought Fitbit. Either of these simple features could save a life!

Most premium fitness trackers now include SOS functionality, I really am genuinely surprise Fitbit does not currently have any!
A bare minimum would be a feature to detect a strong impact via the g sensor on the watch which may indicate an accident.
The heart rate monitoring could also be used to detect signs of a heart attack or decreasing pulse

I would like to see an Emergency set up such as as holding the button for like a full minute or two to activate it. What I am asking is ability to send out In Need of Help to local authorities. It would reach out to 911 or something equivalent that would activate the watch's GPS and Inform the police/authorities your location encase of abduction.

Would it be possible to equip Fitbits (with GPS) with the same emergency technology used in boats (EPIRBS)? This way cellular data is wouldn’t be required. Maybe the user could press a all three buttons three times to set it off.

Add on a sos feature where the user is able to press a icon or hold the button for a number of seconds to activate a sos message to selected contacts and/or the authorities/911 with location attached. A plus for being able to do this without phone in range.
