Enable Celsius units on weather app without having to change distance to kilometers Ionic/Versa

Currently the ionic will only  display Celsius units when the distance unit is in 'kilometres'. It would be great if the ionic weather app displayed Celsius units regardless of the distance unit selected .... E.g, miles .

Oh yay, good. This took a lot of complaing to get done. But at least we’re getting some feedback and it’s getting done.

Versa has the same due to shared apps. Adding a change of unit should be simple enough as any accuweather app has the option to change it.

Please add the option till then the app is useless to me.

Thanks

It seems the next big update will have this but as I have only had 2 updates in about a year we may be waiting a little while

Wow you would think with the price or these things they would have this sorted by now or perhaps fitbit don't care about there customer in the UK.... anybody know how hot 80f is?

About 27’c

The one to watch is 99’f is body temp

Or there about with a rounding error frown in for good measure

Also agree, I use miles but also Celsius. I can convert farenheit to Celsius but it makes the application a bit redundant for me when I could get the weather on my phone without having to do this.

I woke this morning to find a Fitbit app update waiting for me in the Play Store. You can imagine my excitement at getting to be able to have weather in Celsius!! Sadly this was short lived as there was no change in the settings or the weather app. Maybe the reply saying tgatit should be in the next release was made to shut us all us (they chode their words carefully and said "should" not "would").

It’s not the app that would need the update, it’s a software update for the watches themselves that have to be developed.

They have said it’s in development so we shall just have to wait until the next OS update for the device.

Kind regards

Fair enough if they feel that the watch software needs an update to implement this, I guess we'll be waiting a bit longer. That said, I don't know why the app can't handle the change in units, surely they just need to uncouple the settings, the watch has the ability to display all the units needed and it gets the weather information via the phone app. So the phone just needs to pass the required units, all the watch is doing is displaying the information that it's receiving.

Yeah didn’t look at it like that.

Maybe they just want to have imbedded into the watches software as well. With how long we’ve been waiting and raising the issue they may want it to be done right.

Still think it’s ridiculous that it isn’t a factory default setting.

Kind regards

I have purchased a FitBit Versa today. I am severely disappointed and baffled that it doesn’t automatically change the unit to Celsius or Fahrenheit wherever your location is e.g •C-UK •F-USA etc. Really is disappointing.

Please sort this FitBit!!! Ive had a product a day and something so little is causing an issue.

Here in the UK we use miles for measurement and Celsius for temperature. Currently there's no way to allow this. (Weather app/Ionic)

Adding my plea for ability to have Celsius and miles please !

For the newer people. Fitbit said it'll be fixed with an upcoming watch update (not the app).

There should be a way to individually set units on the Ionic. For example, currently, it's only possible to have Celsius displaying in the weather app if kilometers is set as the unit for distance, however, I would like Celsius for temperature but miles for distance. It would be great if the unit for everything (temperature, elevation, distance...) could be set independently.

Hi @ffchx! Thanks for your suggestion. I moved it to this similar thread so we can add you vote on it.!

I recently upgraded from a Charge 2 to  Versa, as I wanted the waterproof nature of the device. I like it.

It is staggering though that isues like this take so long to fix, when its obviously annoying a lot of customers.

Customer = Revenue.

Come on Fitbit, remember this and do better!

Yes exactly. I consider this more to be a design flaw as opposed to a missing feature. Perfect example of fitbit not considering the needs of its users.

Hi I am from the UK and and agree that we should be able to change the temperature independently of other measurements. Will Fitbit be looking at updating the system so it does this?

Please, please, please enable the weather app setting to be changed to degrees Celsius without having to choose distance in centimetres & kilometres. Pretty please.

When are us second rate users in the UK going to get degrees C for the weather app? We are always left behind yet we contribute a lot of revenue..

I see this thread has been going a while. I bought the versa and was disappointed that clock faces and apps are useless to me as they show fahrenheit .

In this day and age no excuse.

They have announced it earlier in the thread on the next software update for the the devices, we should have the ability to change the weather settings

Kind regards
