Enlarge and brighten battery life indicator on Charge 5

On the Charge 5, tfont used to show the remaining battery life percentage on the screen with all the current performance stats is too small and due to being grey rather than white, almost unreadable.

I would like to request that the font be enlarged and use a brighter color so that it can be read more easily.

Thank you.

If that first stats screen is so packed that you had to shrink the battery font, why not create a separate "Battery stats" screen that is all about the battery and includes stuff like the following:

- Current battery state (% left)

- Number of days/hours since last charge

- Average daily usage (for both the most recent charge and the average for all charges)

- Number of expected days left before next charge is needed (based on past average usage of device)

- Ability to customize Fitbit reminder to charge notification percentage (instead of at 25%, why not at 15% or 10%?)

- Others

Oh yes, please. I simply cannot read this battery level information on my charge 5..

Absolutely agree. Too small and can’t read. Please don’t pack all the stats on one screen. Not sure why you even thought that made sense…too small. Battery percentage is the worse. Please, please fix!!

I can read it with the help of a magnifying glass. OK if I'm in my office but not good when I'm out exercising.

I agree with PRT940Strider...  My Charge 2 had an option to add the battery status to the menu.  I would expect this could be an app to add to the device.  I don't need it on the main page but would like to be able to access it during downtime so I can plan where/when I need to charge.

Agreed……At 62 years of age my eyesight isn’t as sharp as it used to be making the battery indicator almost impossible to read, especially in bad lighting conditions.

Also, as I only use my Fitbit Charge 5 maybe once or twice a week, the ability to power off would be handy as I can get better return out of a charge.

Thank you Strider I agree with your suggestions they would be very helpful

Yes would be great if the battery% was in a larger font with more than one warning for needing to charge

Great comment.

The charge screen you see when charging/disconnecting from charger would be a much better option rather than the minuscule screen you see when you swipe up!

Ditto.  Small gray text is very difficult or impossible to read.  All the other text on that screen is white.  Even changing the gray battery percentage to white would help.  The best fix would be to have the battery percentage as one of the tapable info pieces on the main time screen, just like steps, distance, heart rate, etc.

It would be helpful if the time screen tapable info, including battery life, could be chosen by the device user.  I’d only want steps, heart rate and battery life.  Other people might want to focus on other measures.  A simple list with check boxes of what to show on the main screen would be great.

Hai… same problem here.
I suggest that fitbit includes an indicator on the basic screen of the app that shows the remaining battery percentage after syncing. a solution that is watch independent

Hi YojanaFitbit, just letting you know I was so disappointed with my Charge 5 I sold it at a big loss after only owning it for a few months. This was primarily due to the lack of some basic features which I raised within days of purchasing which I would have expected from a device at this price level. It was a step backwards from my previous 2 units, so disappointed!

Can’t agree more! It was a lot easier to see the battery level on my Charge 3, I hope it gets updated soon

Yes, PLEASE make the battery display larger and WHITE instead of that useless gray!  Thanks! 😊

Hi, I have a visual impairment and would love to see either a watch face that incorporates the battery level indicator or a large indicator when you swipe up on the main screen. It is just too small to read and having to open the app on my phone each time to check is just too long winded. Tell me why do all technology manufacturers seem to disregard accessibility options for the visually impaired community?

It matters to me when the percentage of remaining battery power nears a level that might not last for my next activity. Please make the visible percentage a brighter white light. I have actually resorted to using a magnifying glass to read the percentage figure.

Hello Jobowen
I had the same problem.
but found out the folowing: start the app and after synchronizing swipe down to see the remaining percentage in the top of the screen
Of course, the request remains to be able to read this percentage on the watch.

Charge 5 battery display way too tiny to read. i can tap on my clock face to get one at a time the displays on next screen. For all except battery.

The absolute only way I can read the battery life remaining is to hook the charge 5 up to re-charge it. Then the percent of charge remaining flashes briefly on the screen. It is ridiculous not to be able to read the percentage remaining any other way but the font is too small. This issue will make me look at other fitness trackers made by other companies when my charge 5 dies.

Hello user. A problem that has been mentioned hundreds of times since the charge 5 has been released but which Fitbit is doing nothing about. In fact, before the latest app update, the battery status was shown after syncing, but this no longer happens. In order to check the battery status on a daily basis you have to work with a magnifying glass, connect it to the charger or act on the email that is sent to you  when the status drops below 20%. For me it comes down to the practice that the charge 5's display stops working and has to go on the charger.

This issue dates back to December of 2021!  How has Fitbit not addressed this yet?  Given that the device must be recharged at least once a week, an argument can be made that the battery percentage is the second most important piece of data that ought to be displayed (still have to rank time as first!).  Come on folks - give this suggestion some up votes!!  Apparently that is the only way Fitbit will pay attention.
