What I don't understand is when you look under the category compatible apps you will find "find my phone".
If you click on it, it says that it is AVAILABLE FOR 8 DEVICES and the FIRST ONE ONE THE LIST IS Fitbit charge 5...
I can't download the app, it says it's not available...
I don't understand... I am truly disappointed and I honestly, I tried to return the watch, owning it for just 2 hours but the shop that I bought it from didn't let me.
Well, rats! I just today received my new Charge 5. It's a replacement for a Garmin unit. And now I find out that my favorite ability of the Garmin isn't available on the Charge 5. Find my phone isn't something used everyday, of course, but when it's needed -- it's needed! Please rectify this.
The lack of this feature is the reason I won't buy a fitbit today. I want a heartrate monitor with narrow tracker form factor, but that can make my phone beep or something so I can find it.
Other much cheaper competitors have this, so it's a real mystery why fitbit doesn't. Are they trying to upsell to the big wide not-an-apple watch by claiming this software feature can't be put on a tracker? No thanks!
Please, the ability to download more apps. At the very least, having more watch faces to choose from, or better yet, one that can do Spotify. Spotify may have to use the phone it's linked to but, at least being able to control it without taking one's phone out would be great.
ShadoWraith, you can get limited control of your audio apps, including Spotify, by turning on notifications for those apps. Once you do that, you'll need to start the app on your phone, and then you'll be able to control it from the notifications panel on your Charge 5. There are videos showing how to use this work-around if you need help.
I literally just upraded from the inspire 2 to the charge 5 and I can't find my phone. On isnpire, I could just tap tile and find my phone but I don't see that option here. Is there any other way to use the smart watch to find my phone?? or maybe integrate it into the fitbit app so it isn't device specific. I tell you, I find ONE feature I like on ONE fitbit, but it's lacking 3 others that are only on this device and so on... I've spend several days now trying to find ONE device with EVERYTHING I want, and I can't find it with fitbit for sure. It's a small list really... I don't need alexa bc I never leave home... I don't need music players bc I can use my laptop or phone. I just want something that counts my steps, counts calories, monitors my heart rhythms and sleep cycles, has the ability to track my phone, and has an attractive, customizable clock. Is that too much??? I dont' think so.

I decided it's not worth waiting. Like I mentioned before, the Find My Phone functionality is part of the setup process. There aren't technical limitations as to whether it can or can't it done. Anyways, I got rid of my charge 5 and and now using a Garmin device which was equivalent price and superior in almost every other way (including it has basic functionality like Find My Phone). This experience waiting for super basic Bluetooth functions has soured my opinion on Fitbit.
I didn’t know Garmin had a watch type device! I’ll have to look into it. My husband has an Apple Watch and loves it, I just don’t want to spend that kind of money!
I cannot believe this feature is not included. I’ve had it on all my recent past fitbits. The ecg and Eda scanners are pointless features. I’d way rather have stair counting and find my phone as options. It would be nice if fitbit offered these as options even if they are limited to as many as the device can sustain.
No, they aren't going to respond. The functionality of 'find my phone' is actually already there. It's part of the setup process, as I was able to get my watch to activate my ringer. Plus, it's just real basic Bluetooth function. I would recommend switching to another manufacturer. Obviously Fitbit doesn't want to cannibalize sales of their other devices, but the error here is competitors provide MUCH better options at competitive prices. I got rid of my charge 5 recently and so happy I did.
I can’t believe my prior post had so many errors in it! Spell correct did a bad job! I’m happy to say, find my phone is now functioning on my charge5., very happy with this. Now I’d love the stairs option
