Fitbit App keep screen on

When running with "Map My Run" there is a feature to keep the smartphone screen lit throughout the duration of a run/exercise activity. This is great if you have your phone strapped to your arm, especially when exercising in the dark.

If this or a similar feature could be introduced into the fitbit app, I would track my exercise direct into FitBit without the need for anything else. It essential overrides the phones' power settings.

I'd like to see a selection on the main screen of the app to make it so the screen is always on. Maybe a little slider in the upper right hand corner to activate/deactivate the screen on function. This would be usefull if you are working out in a stationary position, like a treadmill and want to view your progress in real time. I do this while on my treadmill.

It can also be made to revert back to normal whenever the app is turned off.

I use an app called Screen Timeout to do this on my BlackBerry.  I installed the app specifically for when I am working out and want to keep the FitBit app visable.  I can set the duration I would like the screen to remain lit for any amount of time or keep it lit indefinitley, which would require going back into the app and turning it off to revert back to your standard timeout.

Seems like a resonable request! A settings ticker to turn on. And even maybe when on a run just hitting the power button turns the screen of if you wanted. Great idea.

Thanks for sharing this great idea. This would be great so you can check your information from your phone or control the music when you are running in the evenings/night
