Flip screens for left-handed people Fitbit Sense/Versa Smartwatches

In order for the button to be on the correct side for left-handed people wearing the device on their right hands, allow for the screen to be flipped when the setting for the hand is on left-handed.

It's puzzling how Fitbit managed to get that wrong so badly. All the operating systems that exist today and especially those used in wearable devices do have support for allowing screen rotation. But somehow, this is going de be considering as a feature request for a Fitbit (probably for a future higher costing device) and will only be introduced in future devices when enough people vote for it. I have received my Fitbit Sense for Christmas. But now, I am seriously considering buying an iWatch.

The button on the Versa 3 is very difficult to use sometimes. I am switching from an apple watch where the button is on the right side; and thus, easier for me to cover the whole button with my index finger. An easy fix is to be able to rotate the screen. The bands are already switchable, but the screen is not. Please update to allow this.

Hi @MakMak , thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to flip screens for left-handed people Fitbit Sense/Versa 3. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

Bumping this. Lefties NEED this. Badly.

Seriously. How is this not a thing yet? I'm pretty sure the first version
of the Apple Watch had this.

Seriously, this is the ONLY issue I am having with my sense, I have turned my Fitbit off multiple times.

Voting for this. I wear my Versa 3 on my right wrist and this is really annoying and making me consider for the first time ever to switch to a Garmin which is the brand favoured by my husband. I have used fitbit foe ever and would much prefer a solution that having to change.

Adding my voice to this comment thread.  I'm a musician, & I've gotten into the habit of keeping my right wrist free so bracelets & watches don't bang against my guitar when I play.  However, I am constantly depressing my Sense button accidentally on my left (dominant) wrist... it would be an easy fix if I could simply flip the clock face.  On top of that, the size of the watch face is large, and sits at an awkward angle on my wrist so it is facing away from me when I go to look at the time... I've switched the device to sit against the inside part of my wrist, which is actually MUCH better & how I prefer to wear my watches anyway, but when I go to adjust the placement of the watch by pushing against where the straps attach, it somehow depresses the side button and turns on my screen, significantly using my battery life more than what is actually being utilized.  How is this happening when I'm not even engaging the side button??

Same. Wear watch on right hand and accidentally long press the button all the time. Especially when wearing a coat. Considering returning it if there isn't a better solution.

I would greatly appreciate the feature to flip the screen. If you do not plan on making this an option I may want to just purchase a different watch altogether. So a response from a moderator with a time frame or a goal of upvotes would be beneficial so I know now whether I should just return the watch. It is very annoying that it regularly activates the button all day long. And it's slightly discriminatory that you don't have the option for left-handed people to wear this watch.

I just got my Versa 3 two days ago and I've decided not to set anything for the long press because every time I stretch, I end up pressing it and it's driving me nuts! I thought for sure I'd be able to easily rotate the screen with some sort of left-handed feature and was dismayed to see this isn't possible. I got this Fitbit in the hopes that it would reinvigorate my fitness and because my Charge 3 screen started to get so dim I couldn't read anything on it, even in the dark. I'm not willing to send it back because I do love it, but this is a feature that could easily be added in a firmware update. I might start wearing my Versa upside down so I'm less frustrated by this.

I almost didn't comment and then read someone else's comment where they said there are probably loads more people who are frustrated by this and just can't be bothered to set up an account to add their thoughts to this feature. I figured it was the least I could do and hopefully someone takes us seriously.

I find it hard to believe that no one in the Fitbit dev team is left-handed; this should have been raised early on in the design process.

Just to bring this to current date. I believe we all still want this ability to have left handed clock face rotation. Been almost a year since the first post. Any updates.

Correct - Fitbit doesn’t seem to care about their left-handed users.

How hard is it to get my money back for fitbit sense? It's a lot of money for a device that's not made with left handed people in mind. Thinking of getting the iwatch. Just as expensive, but has clock face rotation. It's a simple coding push in an update to make this happen. It's been over a year. Obviously fitbit isn't going to. Which I would have seen this before I got my sense.

Im not on social media, but can someone tweet about this to get their attention?  Clearly they don’t actually read these boards.

I am a lefty and just got the Fitbit sense but having a hard time setting it up due to the button being on the wrong side. Would love to be able to switch it.

Day one of usage. Found this issue, for me it’s a blocker.

Considering returning because of the absence of the feature of the screen flip.

I had Apple watch, I had Huawei watch for Android- both had this option for years.

Fitbit Community asking to add it, technically it doesn’t look hard.

No answer from the moderators for half a year.

Please clarify the delay, absence of any explanation and roadmap on this to the clients.

I have come to the conclusion that Fitbit simply doesn't care for their
left handed customers. This has been an issue for more than an year. My
guess is either the entire executive management is right handed or they are
wearing apple or samsung watches because those watches are superior maybe?
Either way, such a pathetic disappointment. I was stupid optimistic and
held the watch beyond my return window. But I will make sure to leave a
one star review on amazon.

Yes, please...less than 24 hours in and this is driving me batty. I was so excited to have a super quick shortcut to my daily walk, but turns out it's useless when bending my wrist turns it on MULTIPLE times a day.

The older less expensive fitbits had this feature and I never dreamed it would be am issue on a $200 Versa 3.

I just got my Versa 3 yesterday and already would REALLY like this feature: invert the screen so the button is on the side away from my wrist.

As someone who is left handed, I wear my Versa 3 watch on my right hand (non-dominant), on the underside of my wrist. Because the screen's orientation cannot be corrected, the "button" faces my wrist rather than my elbow, which causes it to be activated constantly when I move my hand toward my forearm (something my work frequently requires in the normal course of completing my job), which in turn leads to greatly diminished battery life. I bought the watch a month ago today and it has not gone more than 96 hours (usually closer to 72 hours) without requiring a charge since I purchased it, despite being touted as having a 6+ day battery. Please build this feature!!!

I am setting up my fitbit sense and just saw this. Is there no update? I wear my fitbit on my right hand and just want to click the button with my thumb. I thought I would be able to just rotate the display!

Still not a thing unfortunately. I find myself just not wearing mine
anymore. Such a waste of money. I'm convinced that absolutely nobody at
fitbit is left handed.
