Gobal positioning tech

My Fitbit charge 3 sometimes has a hard time connecting with my phone and gauging where I am. I'm not sure what technology Fitbit uses for tracking these stats but I had a bit of a brainstorm while watching the 'user's guide to cheating death' episode on transhumanism. Have you thought of using RFIDs to augment the accuracy of the GPS on Fitbit devices?
