Heart rate zones alert feature

Many fitness enthusiasts and individuals of whom base their workouts on target heart rate zones would really appreciate a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic as well -if possible ALL Fitbit watches. This feature would allow a Fitbit user to manually set their Fitbit watch to alert the user once their targeted maximum and minimum heart rate has been achieved while performing a workout. Â The watch would vibrate on the user's wrist alerting the user when their selected heart rate has been accomplished or met allowing the user to more cater their workouts to stay within a selected threshold. Â Implementing this feature will also serve well as a safety feature which can alert the user when their calculated heartrate is dangerously high or above the maximum threshold that they set enabling the user to adjust their workout accordingly. Â Some Fitbit users I can imagine and many other individuals have cardiovascular/heart related issues which prevent them engaging in a workout that is too intense therefore a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic would make the watch more marketable to the present customer base, a broader audience of fitness enthusiasts, and desirable to a whole new market of individuals of whom have cardiovascular/heart issues and will really appreciate a heartrate alert feature implemented into their fitness/activity trackers. Overall, implementing this feature will likely increase popularity of the watch, increase revenue, and appeal to a wider range of individuals that are taking steps to improve their health through daily workouts but are limited to what they can do due to cardiovascular/heart concerns. Â Implementing this feature can likely be as simple as have software engineering add it to a software/firmware update which will allow it to perform identical to the silent/vibrating alarm feature already included in most Fitbit watches anyhow.

If I wasn't so fond of PurePulse I'd have bought an Apple watch by now and
sold my FitBit.

Searching through the forums the requirement for heart rate alarms, low and high - as found on the new apple watch - are being begged for. However I have not seen a single response from FITBIT on this topic - a number of posts are marked solved and as you follow them excited, you just find it is BS it is not solved.

So FITBIT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE explain

1. why you refuse to add this feature a la Apple

2. why you refuse to answer the question

3. why you keep marking the posts as solved when they clearly are not

4. is there any intention at all to introduce the feature

for the rest of the community anyone found an alternative other than the apple watch?

Check out the trackers made by Garmin for heart rate zone alerts.

They don't do constant or as accurate pulse monitoring as PurePulse I
believe though?

Hi @Skirabbit , thank you for your suggestion. I moved it here, with this similar one. Let's see what other users think about this. Remember to leave your vote for it.

This post is active since 2014 with recent increased activity.  Nothing has been done.  What is Fitbit teaching us here?

WE DON'T CARE

If they would only be as good as the Moderator that moves posts around.  Darn, product management doesn't seem to have a brain.

Now the suggested Garmin has only one Alarm (Abnormal Heart Rate), but at $170 street price (Amazon), the feature set is impressive and it is time to abandon Fitbit.

Instead of moving the post around can you not answer the questions - there are hundreds/thousands of requests over the years for the feature, not one with any kind of answer from FITBIT why?

I don’t think it’s going to happen, no real interest from FitBit - I’ve tried twitter to see if they respond to that!!

I switched to a Garmin Forerunner 35 with heart rate zone alerts. I¹m not
impressed. I still wear the Fitbit to compare reports because I don¹t trust
the Garmin. The Garmin is very prone to announcing a high heart rate
extremely high at times. Once I was supposedly running with a heart rate of
200bpm. As I now have a monitored Pacemaker I have medical proof this didn¹t
actually happen. I¹ve worn both devices during ECGs the Fitbit is always
closer to my cardiologist¹s reading. I can¹t rely on the Garmin so it¹s not
worth having really.

It would be helpful if Fitbit would have a notification when heart rate becomes high and cue the use of the guided breathing session to help reduce stress and anxiety.

I have the charge 2.  We bought the charge 3 for our son-in-law so he could monitor his heart rate after by-pass surgery.  We hope the would be an update to the charge 3 software to allow him to set an alarm when he reaches a set heart rate.

Of course they will be an update to the charge 3 software to allow him setup an alarm when he reaches a set heart rate, okay?

Hi @bdprin, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option for your Charge 3. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about here. Keep adding your suggestions!

Hi @LSuy, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option with Fitbit. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I think that after being informed about your HR data, you can use the relax feature.  I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about here. Keep adding your suggestions!

Dear Moderator.

There are 58 pages of hundreds of folks asking for this feature with fitbit doing nothing.  Not even providing an update other than the continued UNDER CONSIDERATION.  This has been the case for years now.  It seems providing this feature would be easy.  Please have the decency to tell.us the reasoning for not doing it.  Thank you.

I would like the "heart rate" added to the voice alerts for miles and pace.  But also allow me to set a first warning heart rate and then a critical warning heart rate with a verbal alert.   I can always see my fitbit screen in bright sun and may not notice a buzz.   So for me I would want to set a warning rate of 140 and then a critical warning at 150.  It might not be possible to do but if I reach either one of those, the fitbit could buzz but also verbally alert me even if its not one of the mileage/pace points.  That way when I running from a bear, I wont have to tap my fitbit to see my heart rate 😉

That¹s the perfect solution to this lack of heart rate zones alert ignorance
by Fitbit. I sometimes don¹t feel the notifications vibrations when I¹m just
working at my desk let along outdoors running with music in my ears. Also I
can¹t read my Fitbit in the sun nor at night. The response to the tap is so
short, and running without my reading glasses as I do, makes it impossible
to read the Fitbit face unless I stop running. A verbal alert is the perfect
solution.

Hi,

I think it will be useful to have small notification that you are in the selected heart zone, ie in Fat Burning zone when you run.

It could vibrate one when you're in, and twice when you leave heart zone, for example.

Selecting zones would be great future as well.

It's been two years and almost 6000 signatures. At this point it looks like Fitbit is just being wilfully obstinate. I've been wanting to buy a Fitbit for a year or so now, but the absence of this feature is the only thing holding me back. I've heard recently that Apple watch does have this feature, and if I have to wait much longer I'll just buy the Apple watch instead. Come on Fitbit. MAKE. IT. HAPPEN.

Got it has joined the corporate world of Dumb**ahem**s Are Us.

This feature is "under considerarion" for over 2 years which clearly shows ZERO CONSIDERATION.  It feels line the must have released a big portion of their engineering team because I have not seen much in new feature coming out of Fitbit.  Another company that started out well and now no longer giving a rats **ahem** anoutbits customers that made them grow in the first place.

Yes, please add alerts for high and low custom HR levels. I bought the Inspire HR thinking “continuous HR” meant it would be displayed continually. If it cannot be displayed, at least I should be able to be alerted. Flicking my wrist all the time to check manually is not an option. I need this feature for managing PEM for Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) 24/7. I need it for even exercising in supine position, let alone during any upright activity. Being able to stay within target HR zone is the one thing that may help me improve daily quality of living both immediately and over time, and yet no one seems to offer this simple feature. There’s 50 million of us worldwide who would buy it if it existed! And 15-20 million in USA.  PLEASE implement HR alerts for all Fitbits, but especially the slim, Inspire HR, so those who mainly want to use a wrist tracker for HR can use it for that. THANK YOU!
