Cool, but then... no support for us regardless. I wonder why it's not able to work with ING. I can use Android phone NFC. Is Fitbit using a different technology?
@Skarn I'm pretty sure all the systems (apple pay, android pay, etc) use NFC, I'm not sure what the commercial/legal arrangements are between the different providers. If you try to enter your ING card number in Fitbit it simply says not supported.
It is probably worth pushing from both sides, so I also sent a request into ING. If enough people do that, it might get a higher priority.
Seeing as Fitbit already has the major 4 banks, adding more is probably not a high priority, so I think it would have to be ING that does the work to get onto the system. From the list, the first 12 are in alphabetical order, so probably the initial launch, with then a few added afterwards.
The FAQ on Fitbit also suggests if your bank is supported you could look at one of the neobanks that you could use to link (Revolut, 86400, etc). I'm going to look into setting up 86400.
New to Fitbit and newly disappointed with the pay feature.
The 2 banks we use are both not supported. As a long term user of Apple products, I naively thought things would ‘just work’ with Fitbit and it didn’t occur to me that my banks (especially ING) wouldn’t be supported.
For the time being, the pay feature on my Charge 4 is useless to me. Please broaden your banking partners!
Please add ING to list of supported banks in Australia, it’s one of the main banks and it’s very disappointing that the wallet function on Fitbit does not support it.
So this comment and suggestion was raised in 2018.
I just talked to the chat person who said ING will eventually be added and to voice my support here.
Not sure why we are bothering if it's taken 4 years of comments and 6 pages of people writing and there still is not an ING payment option for fitbit.
The only reason I got the versa 3 was so that I had a smartwatch that did most everything. Except now I realise that I can't use pay. So what's the point in having this smartwatch?
I think 4 years of people asking for ING as a banking option should be more than enough for fitbit to actually LISTEN, what a waste of people's time.
Totally agree, Sevalisa. And what does "eventually" mean? Nothing. There must be some commercial reason they won't add ING. If I hadn't invested so much in my device I'd stop using it and try something else. That's how they've got us of course, and why they don't care - we've already paid up.
