Improvements to sleep analysis/duration

I would like Fitbit to more accurately set my sleep and wake times.
I would like to add more information to the process of analysis.
For example, I would like to set my typical wake up and go to sleep times. (Then the algorithm could try to fit my current data).
I would also like to set that I typically have one sleeping period.

A temporary solution would involve adding a button to merge two records together on a single day

By the way, I am now participating in two Studies using Fitbit for early prediction of coronavirus / flu symptoms or infections from monitoring data.

This makes it more important that I generate accurate sleep and heart rate results.

Now I’m having a problem that on nights with two records if I delete one and edit then all of the data can be lost.
The problem seems to be when the two records are in different days IE a short record in the evening before midnight, and after I delete one then the editing loses the data.

For Example, last night my record was broken into two pieces each on a different day. When I deleted the short piece in the previous day, then I was unable to smoothly edit the remaining part.

when I tried to edit the part from today it does not allow me to move The start point before midnight back into the previous day.

After several steps, then it allows it but deletes my records.

Fitbit devices currently have a lot of data regarding sleep and it would be awesome if it could recommend the best time to sleep and duration for each individual person. Currently, Google Hub has this feature and with the data, Fitbit already records this should be good to implement.

Hi @Kanaenae, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see best time to sleep and duration for each individual person. I've moved it into a similar request. I think that a lot of users would like to have this option on their Fitbit devices. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

I had an Inspire 3 device for over two months and it always worked reliably to return detailed sleep stage data and Heart Metrics every day.
My wife had three Inspire 3 devices that rarely returned detailed sleep stage data, and Breathing Rate or HRV heart metrics. She was also missing the Heart Rate curves on the app about 50% of the time also.

I am a mom that gets up multiple times throughout the night and my REM never correctly tracks right. I wake up from a dream and it will say I was in light sleep.

At some point in the beginning of last year the Fitbit Sleep feature changed for the worse. The feature is now totally useless! This feature is not accurate at all in fact it gives the user a totally bogus and useless Sleep record.

The changes to the sleep algorithm is terrible. Old algorithm was much more accurate. Where is your UAT when updates are made? Simple testing will show it does not work. It shows I'm awake despite being asleep for hours. Naps are also not calculated.
