Increase Font Size for Charge 3

I have just received my Charge 3, my first Fitbit. I had held off on the Charge 2 to wait for the 3’s larger display. At 47 I need glasses to read small text and would like to be able to increase the font size on notifications and other features.

A good reason to buy it from Costco.

This issue continues to be ignored by Fitbit. Very disappointing. This is my third model and will probably be my last.

Agreeing with others, I was so excited to get the new Charge 3, but alas its pretty worthless.   If I wanted a watch I would just wear a watch.  They made the time font big but the fitness/steps too small too read easily.  I'm on the fence if I'm actually using it or going back to my Charge 2.  I was so excited about the swimming feature.  Also, a change from left/right swipe to up/down swipe is an inconvenience not an upgrade or improvement.  Being in an engineering field I'm shocked at the ineptness of the design team, given all the user input and demand for these types of products.  I feel they really fell short especially for the cost.  Luckily for me my company provided the Charge 3 at a $50 cost to me.  No WAY I would pay more than that for this as it wasn't any upgrade other than the water resistant feature.

Hey Fitbit Moderator! How do we elevate this to get some results here?  Bigger font and no gray scale! Shouldn’t be hard. Thank you.

I don't think our moderators here are doing a good job representing us if
the FitBit product team haven't realized how vocal the users are about this
defect. I don't mind waiting for a fix, but they are acknowledging that
it's even being considered for a fix. I have seen better response from $2 Indy
app sellers!

Perhaps being "on top" will create enough noise once the ill-informed become the informed.

Here is what Fitbit replied when I asked when they were going to give a date for a font size fix. Another side step these folk would make great politicians the way won’t answer a direct question

In regard to the size of the front of the tracker, we'd like you to know that our engineers team is aware of your requirement. Your comments are taken into consideration for future procedures as customer satisfaction is one of the main goals for our company.

It's a fact that this is indeed an area of improvement. There's no doubt that we will make the most of it. In fact, your opinion matters to us. Hence, we look forward to making your Fitbit experience even better. And remember, if you happen to have additional questions or concerns. Please, let us know, we will be happy to look into it.

Not much hope here @Ganga626. This is essentially the same non-answer
they've given for over two months, since this issue was first raised.

It's almost identical to the response to the related request for
more/better clock faces, which now has over 1,800 votes and was submitted
about the same time.

Bottom line, no one at Fitbit seems to care about these forums. They're a
waste of time, unless all you hope for is to see how many others share your
opinion.

Was that post by @Ganga626 a joke? Is that what Fitbit actually said? Perhaps whoever wrote that from Fitbit took lessons from facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg in obfuscation.

Yup that was there reply.
Try sending a message via their website they do respond but just watch how they side step the answer. Fitbit are rubbish at keeping us up to date with any progress on the font size. They just take us for idiots.

Fitbit's reply above reads robotic/automated response.

Well, it's been 2 months since I originally posted on this topic and absolutely nothing has happened.  For what it's worth, I started with the original Fitbit.  Then came the Charge HR, the Charge 2 and the Charge 3.  But the Charge 3 got returned due to font size issue and I traded up for an Apple Watch!  Higher price but it has beautiful and extremelty customizable watch faces (that you can read without glasses).  I'm happy with the switch!

Fitbit lost Rhyser. Come on Fitbit! How many more customers do you want to lose?

I returned mine today. Good luck users.

An excellent piece of hardware ruined by a stubborn UI team, and
indifferent community moderators. They are probably planning on making the
custom watch faces apps available ( from their watch lines), but in the
meantime it would have been nice to give us a face with readable stats as a
stopgap.

Adios Fitbit. I had been a user since 2012.

Moving on to a different platform.

I bought a Charge 3 because it is waterproof and collects data when you swim. Except for one huge flaw I love it. I can’t read anything but the date without putting on reading glasses. My previous Fitbit was a Alta HR and if they could have made it waterproof it would have been perfect. They had a clock option to show data vertically and you could customize what data you wanted to display. You tapped screen to scroll through data. Extremely easy to read without readers. Attaching photos. Hope they can add a clock face with vertical options to the Charge 3. Would help the hundreds and hundreds of Charge 3 customers whose biggest complaints is font size.

Just upgraded from  Fitbit Charge 2 to the 3. I wear this device daily an must say the font size is ridiculously tiny. Anyone trying to track any of its stats and especially the HR , it is nearly impossible to read while training. Very disappointed and now reading other comments and wish I had done so sooner, would have looked into another device. If Fitbit is going to fix with upgrade they should do so quickly, I feel after Holidays they will be receiving a ton of complaints and returns.

Fitbit just had a firmware update. Many new class CLOCKFACES including CHARGE RETRO. Below the clock is your larger font STEPS. Touch the STEPS to go to another larger font stat. Or you could scroll downward to get smaller sized stats. Not perfect but better!

Tells me I cannot install retro clock face onto my charge 3. So pretty useless to me.

The font for steps is still too small. The time is huge. The date is bigger than the steps. I’ve never wondered what the date was when hiking. I tried 3 different clock faces and the steps font was too small for all.

Kate444

Okay! So the Charge retro clock face is an improvement but the steps font is still too small. I have changed the clock face to retro but what do you mean about tapping the steps under the clock to make the font bigger? When I tap the steps, it just scrolls to the next screen with the smaller steps? Thanks!
