Increase Font Size for Charge 3

I have just received my Charge 3, my first Fitbit. I had held off on the Charge 2 to wait for the 3’s larger display. At 47 I need glasses to read small text and would like to be able to increase the font size on notifications and other features.

I bought mine at Costco and left a review about the unreadable font size. Also, when I returned it I made sure they were aware of the reason.

That's an excellent idea. Though I have already returned my Fitbit after my
frustrating experience here in the forum, and on fitibit from not being
able to see my stats when I am running or playing. Hopefully this works out
for others.

I just wore my fitbit charge 3 for the first time today. This device will be useless if I cannot read it while exercising. The font size needs to be increased. Please.

I bought a Charge 3, partially because of the large face. BUT the stats are shown on half screens, so they are very difficult for me to read. In fact I can't tell what the icons represent because they are too small and (for my not-so-young eyes) blurry. I would like it if there was an option to make the stats appear as full screens to take advantage of the large face. Please please make this a software update!

I too switched from the Alta HR because I couldn't read the font on apps.  Charge 3 is very disappointing.  Agree that more choices for face should be implemented including larger fonts on the apps.  I am not returning my Charge 3 - I trust you will correct this failing.

I run twice a week and cycle twice a week. I also do circuit training twice a week.  I used. the map my fitness app to track those activities This worked well when I wore a Polar chest monitor.  I used an analog watch with a second hand to measure how long i would do burpees, stretches, and so on. I thought I would like the charge 3 because i thought it would do three things. I should have done more research.

1. Give a good analysis of sleep patterns.

It does that. I'm satisfied.

2. Replace my watch with the option anaog face to measure time that i do burpees, planks, stretches and so on.

Fails. The analog clock face fades and needs to be constantly refreshed,  Not possible when  you are exercising. Needs an option to stay on for longer.  Even if I need to charge it much more often.

Start and stop my Runs and Bike rides from the android app..

Partial failure, works for the run, must use the device to start and stop bike rides.  I read that Fitbit does not plan to add bike rides in spite of strong  user interest. Bummer.  For older eyes, the clock face is hard to use.  The app would be much more useful. 

So one good thing, two bads.  I'm hoping that Fitbit fixes both. I, I will probably wear the fitbit for sleep and runs.  Wear both a watch and the fitbit for circuit training.  Continue to use mapmyfitness for bike rides.  Not a great solution, but it is what it is.

I am dismayed that I can't change font size - WHAAAT? I had assumed that I could! Would not have bought given that I can't read it, and I could read and change font size in Charge 2. I specifically bought this because of larger screen. Not larger screen where two tiny unreadable things are crammed on together with no option to change, unlike earlier model. And for all the people talking about 'older eyes' - I'm fit, 50s and VERY young and intend to stay that way - would have thought my demographic would be core users? Also please add back customisable screen selections. Have been an enthusiastic promoter - can't now recommend.

I was really excited to get a charge 3 for Christmas I have a charge 2 but the glass is cracked and I like the waterproof feature of the 3 but I will be returning it and going back to my cracked one so I can read the text. I’ve been waiting to see if there is a update to fix this before my return time expires.

Hi don’t hold your breath. Fitbit are ignoring all posts about changing the size of the font. So many are retuning the charge 3 because of the size can’t understand their thinking on this complaint. They must be losing a lot a customers.

I think you should return it. Font size has something to do with scrolling. Buy a new Charge 2.

I also returned my Charge 3 and replaced with a Garmin.  Night and day difference - Garmin provides great customer service and the product is easy to read and use.

I have been a Fitbit user for many many years and cannot believe that the new CHarge 3 font is so so small.....the faces are not slick and I cannot for the life of me read the text messages, even with my readers on so this functionality is useless on this new style. Please please please give us a larger font and would love for the text messages to scroll by so you can read it all.......please fix ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like the ability to make whatever feature that is most important to me, in my case steps, larger font. I will have to return my Fitbit because I can't see 95% of all the notifications. As a consumer based product, it is important to design products for the aging population as well. Changing font size is really technology 101 and should be a basic feature.

Come on Product Development folks. These series of comments started in October.  You now have over 200 comments and over 300 votes.  Changing the font size on the HR display to help those of us who don't want to wear glasses to exercise should be an easy task. You've got a bunch of fancy other clock faces that don't solve the problem.  Example:
