Integrate with Netflix app

Use the sleep detection logic to inform Netflix app that a user is asleep. It will then trigger them ask the "Are you still there?" prompt.

What is interesting is that NetFlix has already done this during a HackDay. (It just doesn't seem like they did anything with it.)

Hey I think this a cool idea. I use Netflix all the time and it would be nice that it pauses the movie when the tracker recognizes that we fall sleep (It happens very often).

It's not possible right now as there is no way to get real-time sleep data. The data is processed and accessible after sleep end detection. It may be a possibility in the future.

It would be great to make partnerships with streaming platforms so that they pause the playback when the user gets asleep

Hi @nicogaud, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see integrate with Netflix app. I've moved it into a similar request. I think that a lot of users would like to have this option on their Fitbit devices. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

Hi everyone, and thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about making an integration between Fitbit and Netflix app with us. Our web API and smartwatch SDK are open which means that the service you are wanting can actually integrate with Fitbit. We’d encourage you to make this suggestion to the service and direct them to our existing API and SDK and resources such as the web dev API community. You will likely be able to email them via their contact us page or customer support, or they may have their own ideas board like this. Or encourage them to reach out to Fitbit directly. Thanks for your participation in the Feature Suggestion forums, we look forward to making Fitbit more useful for you.
