Keeping historical data and transferring to new account

I need to update the email for my account which was originally created under a nutrition and weightloss study. The study us completed and no collecting the data and the Fitbit is mine to keep. I'd like to set up my personal email to my existing account and preserve my historical data. Right now, Fitbit tells me there is not a process in place to transfer data from an old account to a new account. Please fix this.

You can already change the email address and password of your account without having to migrate to a different account altogether. You can check this article to read about changing your email address and this one about your password.
