Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

So greatly needed and appreciated would be to give all Fitbit users the options to delete message notifications from "friends".

I also would love to see the notification removed. It’s annoying and intrusive.

I'm sure if you read pasts posts about this, the notifications on the app have become a very big issue. All of the notifications on my app are from over a year ago. I should be able to delete them. I paid for my device and I should be able to control what information is shown in the app.

I want to delete old notifications that are showing on my app on my iphone.  It's taking up space unnecessarily.  I am using the Inspire tracker.

FitBit app should allow user to manually delete notifications. not wait until 30 days for them to disappear.

With the passing of GDPR "General Data Protection Regulation" how is it that the Development Team at Fitbit has decided that they are not going to allow users to delete messages that contain Personal Identifiable Information when the Regulation clearly states "Data subjects have the right to request a portable copy of the data collected by a processor in a common format, and the right to have their data erased under certain circumstances." and further goes on to state that "In some cases, violators of the GDPR may be fined up to €20 million or up to 4% of the annual worldwide turnover of the preceding financial year in case of an enterprise, whichever is greater." I wouldn't think that Fitbit wants to risk holding user data against the wishes of the users, especially since Fitbit is located in California which has passed its own version of GRPD with the California Consumer Privacy Act. There are a lot of posts in the community forums within Fitbit of users asking to have the ability to delete messages. I would seriously reconsider your decision and comply with the users requests to delete messages.

Revise the app so I can have a way to  delete notifications.  I have one that is months old that I *cannot* get rid of.  It’s quite annoying to think Fitbit has sent me something relevant, only to find out it’s the same-old same-old.  Thanks.

Within the Fitbit App, the mailbox perpetually has a red indicator dot showing that you have notifications or messages.  Because there are always notifications sitting on your list and there is no way to delete them, this red indicator dot is not doing anything helpful.  This should be removed or the functionality should be changed so the indicator dot is only displayed when you have an unread message (not notification).

Hi @wrigglymonkey, thanks for taking the time to share why you would like to see this option on the Fitbit app. This feature suggestion already exists, so I’ve moved your post here. This is not currently planned at this moment, but you have the option to report those kind of messages. Use the option at the bottom "Don't like this message? Please report it."
