Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

Probably nothing except sell their product.

I always have that stupid "New Notification" mark on my app, no matter how many times I tap on all notifications I have. I hate it so very much. Being able to delete notifications would help a lot to get rid of that stupid mark.

You can also stop the notifications, it will not delete what you have, but at least that annoying 1 will cease.
Go to your web browser and log into your Fitbit account, in the top right hand corner there is gear, open that, scroll down to notifications, open it and turn off what you want. I did this 11/11/17 and no longer get any notifications. And that annoying 1 is gone, BUT I can not remove the notifications from 8/7/17-11/11/17....Fitbit will not permit this. Good luck I hope this helps.

That is my point @Joanie41, it was not Fitbit that removed @SunsetRunner post but Amazon.

I wonder why Amazon did that?

You can turn off your notifications. I didn't figure that out until I had a half a years worth and realized I couldn't delete them.

And I’ll wager you still can’t get rid of them! That’s why we keep pleading with Fitbit to let us delete them or at least have them auto delete after a certain amount of time.

I fully support this request, having also made it myself.

As for the claim that notifications are automatically deleted after 24 hours from web, but after 30 days from app doesn't seem to make sense at all !! Surely there is only one data set per user? When something is deleted it should be gone.

Please provide in app delete facility.

I don't know about the web, but I have notifications from 8/17-11/17 that have not been deleted on the app, so the 30 day automatic removal is incorrect. I turned off my notifications 11/11/17.

I gave up on fitbit listening to anyone about deleting notifications on the app. I ditched my fitbit watch and got one from Apple instead

Same here! Now I get much better feedback on my heart functions!

Just hope Fitbit is paying attention to this.

Not only that but it's a bald face lie! I turned off notifications so I no
longer get them, but I have all of them from August 2017 until June 2018
when I disabled them. If they were deleted from the app in 30 days then
this would not be happening, to me or any of the hundreds others that have
reported it.

This singular flaw in their design is annoying enough to make me switch
brands when my Alta bites the dust, or sooner.

I and many others agree with you. Once my Charge 2 bites the dust...Apple watch here I come.

I'm curious as to where this so tch is to turn off the community notifications in the Fitbit app comunity feed is? This feed works a lot like Facebook.

Of course we might be reffering to the feed with personal notifications in the Fitbit app.

I think if you go to main heading "let us delete..."you can turn off getting anymore replies.

fitbit clearly doesn't listen to the consumers at all. they ask for suggestions but have never seen them implement any suggestions aside from "put it in the features suggestion." ridiculous that they claim to be a consumer-based company but are only worried about the bottom line.

Nope. My guess is that they are so focused on new models they could care less about customer service for people who have already bought the product. I bought the first clip on one and two more after that, then a Charge but threw them in the trash and bought an Apple Watch. LOVE it. ‘Activity’ app is fantastic.

I bought my Apple watch on 10/28/17 and love it! No weird syncing taking up to 2 minutes.

The only thing that is better with Fitbit, in my opinion, or for me, is continuous heart rate and sleep tracking.

I still wear my Alta HR for sleep info.

Other than that it is such a pleasure to use!

Hello @mcorrell89, have you taken a look at the list of suggestions that have already been implemented? I know at 312 implemented suggestions it is a little light, but I als know more implemented suggestions that have been archived.

I also suggest reading the FAQ

I'm a little bewildered, this suggestion has nothing to do work the Fitbit .hardware, it is eclusively in the app. These messages are not stored on the phone, but reside in cache.

This might get purged by the moderator for this.... but I believe the newest version actually does a real time EKG and continuous sleep tracking. But I think you need an iPhone 7 or newer. Glad you like yours.

Now the Charge 3 does. Ot have the ability to hook up to your chest and monitor the electrical pulses that control the heart.

Thanks, but when I purchase a new fitness watch, I like many other Fitbit owners will not purchase another Fitbit.
