Lifetime Step Badge in Million Step Increments

I have added this new idea for a Millions Incremental Step Badge because in the 1 Million step badge idea and that has only collected 45 votes in a year but there is reference by @varuscelli in the comments for an Incremental Million Lifetime Step badge.

We need Lifetime Step Increments for example 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 20 etc but even with these, I'm approaching 15 million steps since joining in September 2011, so the Fitbit Exercise Psychologists need to profile more accurately with smaller increments to give the Fitbitters the added incentive, this applies to the distance badges as well.

I have created this because my next Lifetime Distance Badge won't be until 2019 and that concerns me, because when I was averaging my 10.5k steps/day it put me at 88% of the Fitbit population at least 3/4's of the Fitbitters will take many years to achieve some of the Lifetime badges, so again the increments should be smaller.

My thought of that adding A second suggestion for essentially the same thing will cause a split in the votes, and then neither suggestion will get the attraction of the developers.

@Rich_Laue I agree with you, and still this request has only collected 45 votes, whereas the Fitbit Charge HR battery indicator has attracted 575 votes in the same time.

Maybe we need some finer increments in the Distance badges and all is solved, just tweek the existing Badge type. Same result.

Or sounds like the battery indicate is a more popular idea.

I would like to suggest we add another Million Step Disease  to the list we are fighing for..

Alzheimers--

along side Heart disease (already there)...

I think so many people are afraid of the disease it might really get the contest going...

Hi there @Colinm39. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us!

I think this is a very good suggestion as badges keep users motivated and going so creating badges for step increments beyond the ones already existing. I think many users and mostly the ones that have been around for a while will be happy with this.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

Thanks so much Colin!

I think* Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and ASL* need to be addressed with our Steps, as yet there is no cure  and we must find one!

So how has the on-line community not created it's own set of Fitbit badges? I went searching and could only find parody badges and a few backgrounds, but nothing for the million step increments.  It seems to me if Fitbit won't do it, someone with made graphic skills would take on this challenge.

Enjoy the badge below, and feel free to share with as many of your friends as possible. 🙂  Gotta love friends who have skills.

So will it ever happen? I Guess not

@WendyB  I have noticed more and more activity from the longer serving Fitbit members about longevity badges. Maybe the grey army will have influence.

I'm sure Fitbit will come up with something because there are more older people enjoying Fitbit and technology changes can only go so far. Fitbit need the new models and their revenue  to "feed" the growing development costs and issues, and as I posted today, support and software updates are always a Lag situation in technology companies.

Wouldn't it be a positive announcement if Fitbit published the top xx number of requests and have the users vote on it.  That could show some commitment.

Life time steps would be great, it would also be nice to see badges for number of miles in a month..Like most other fitbit users, I use the tool to get me into better physical shape, but the badges are nice..I love walking into my office in the morning and showing off my "Bright, Shiney, new badges. I know it really doesn't mean anything to anyone but me, but, what the heck, let me pat myself on the back. Increment them like the other catagories..50 miles in one month, 100, 200 400 ect. Emujo

A badge for 500,000 would also be awesome. I think I hit it last week.

Yes please!   I was so proud to get my Earth Badge but am saddened there are no more!.   How about "Shoot for the Moon" in progressions of completion?    Or perhaps walking the diameter of other planets bigger than ours could be next?      Anything to keep us longtime users motivated!!  Thanks!

I would love to see lifetime steps badges added and 1 million step increments seems a reasonable idea.  I recently hit 7 million lifetime steps (Just this past week, now at 7,072,658) and was disappointed to not see any lifetime steps badges when I looked, so you have my vote to have this added!

A million step increment badge would be great, 1 Mil, 2 Mil, and so on.. Especially since those with shorter strides require more steps to reach the same amount of miles that a taller person would.  Both my wife and I walk the same amount of steps but since she is 7 inches shorter than me, her lifetime miles are significantly less.  This is a little discouraging for her.  Also since the mileage badge ends at Earth 7992, which I am now only 50 days away from achieving, there is nothing left for me to share with anyone anymore as far as distance goes.  I am not a marathon runner so other than maybe trying to get to 55K in a day, It would be nice to have the 1 million increment badges to keep us motivated.  I also like the idea of keeping track how many days it takes to achieve each million, so you can push yourself to try and reach the next million in less days.  I am at 15.45 million and didn't even realize it until today because I was trying to figure out what my next mileage badge would be.  I earned a Russian Railway way back in April of 2017, since then other than workweek hustle or goal day trophies there has been no badges, but I have put on another 6 million steps since then without any notifications.

Please give us more badges !!!!  Especially Lifetime Steps and mileage.  I realize I can do the math and figure distances out for myself, but it is more fun when you can share it with others and especially the best part cheer others on for their badge achievements.

Yes, I'd love this!  I'm actually shocked that Lifetime Steps isn't part of the FitBit Badge incentive!  Seems very strange that it's not.

I don’t understand how this doesn’t exist already. We have lifetime floors and miles, but not steps. Steps are one of the main focus points that FitBit has always pushed, afterall, steps is the only way to challenge your friends. Please bring these lifetime step badges!

This feature appears to be a non-event.. I have posted more in the Community Forum at this link.. on the 1st September 2018

Steps are a common unit of measure globally....

I agree, there should be more badges... I am nearing 19 mios steps and am looking forward to waiting another 11 mios steps to get my next badge... To create them, look at the entire world, not just the US, and you'll find plenty of inspiration. The Silk Road, the Australian highway, the distance between poles (on the surface this time), or around the equator, across the Pacific, around the Rim of Fire, or the African continent, there are loads of long roads on this Earth. Regular increments such as 1'000'000 steps would be awesome too!

And to call the 12'713 km badge "Earth", meaning pole to pole on the inside, and this without any explanation, is a bit weird, I am sorry to say...

This thread has been open for nearly 5 years...Many Fitbit users have made some really good suggestions for additional badges and/or categories. 2 of the posters mentioned having cancer, I hope that they are still with us patiently waiting on Fitbit to add the badges..I guess it's just too hard for anyone at Fitbit to comprehend someone walking more that 12K miles, or climbing 30K floors..Remember when cars odometers were 99,999.9 then rolled back to 0? But the good news is that in that nearly 5 year span, 3 new models of the entire Fitbit line up have come out. Including a scale, earbuds, and a little tiny coach..and they've done away with many of those pesky challenges..Like other Fitbit users, I no longer need the cheesy motivators to keep being physically active, but they were nice to have as a goal. I can't imagine any reason for replacing my current Surge with another Fitbit product when it finally gives up the ghost.

I think the badges are a fun idea that truly motivate and give you something to aim for. Please add more badges! I have received the Satellite badge for 35000 steps and it saddens me that I have no more badges to work for!

It might be worth having fitbit users suggest ideas for future badges - would probably be very popular and generate some amazing ideas!

I recently achieved 1M steps but have yet to be awarded a badge for it.
