Longer Screen Time for Charge Trackers

I purchased my charge 3 after seeing it would have a Screen Time out Option.  It shipped without one.  Moderator Kate says it’s not available at this time.  The manual is now being changed to reflect that.

I really, really want/need that option.  It was the reason I chose the Charge.  That and my 50’s year old eyes.  The current screen only stays on for 3-4 seconds.  That is a very short amount of time.  I have to repeated tap the screen to read a text that comes in.  IF we are going to have the ability to get notifications, we need the ability to read them.

Please Fitbit, give us the option that was originally in the manual to change the screen time out.  The Versa has it, so I know it can be done.

I can’t understand Fitbits approach of totally ignoring the requests. Not even any comment as to why they refuse to add a longer screen display. I’ll bet that even the people who haven’t taken the time to complain are just as annoyed. It’s something that just seems to be a basic requirement.

Done, I hope they take notice.

They responded to mine! Keep those complaints coming on social media!

They responded to mine a few weeks back but all they did is to tell me to go to the Fitbit Community! So just going around in circles. I have complained on twitter a few times and the more people who complain the merrier.

I realise the implication but the short screen time is just not acceptable. Please consider at least the option for a longer screen time.

Hey Fitbit folks.  What steps have you taken to add a sleep timeout to the Charge 3 since I posted the request.  Since adding this feature should only take a day or two (including testing) why haven't we seen a firmware update?? What's the hold up?  Is there a holiday over where you are?

Could we have this done by Monday/Tuesday of next week please?

Thank you very much.

I bought this specifically to watch my heart rate during intense exercise to be able to lower or increase intensity. Having to hit a button every 3 seconds makes it useless. I am going to return it but had this been a feature that may not have happened. I did what I thought was a lot of research but apparently missed this entire problem.

This issue has forced me to return my tracker and get a refund. I still can not understand the reluctance to update this issueSent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Just got a Charge 3 for my wife.  Screen time is ridiculously short, and completely unacceptable. Having an option for screen time out seems like an obvious feature and not including it seems negligent to me. Removing the instructions for this feature is not a “fix”.

Plain and simple, they just don't care. It's as I have said before, they have our money and are getting a good laugh at us. I'm guessing the moderators here aren't able to get any answer either. They have power on the forums only and their hands are tied. Putting anything on Facebook is a waste. They take your comments off and stop you from posting. I don't know about Twitter or anything else since I don't use them.

Please for the love of God, give us the option to adjust screen time.  I don't care if it affects battery life, I just want to be able to finish reading my messages!

I can not actuslly believe this nonsense. It has been a year since someone requested this feature and we still don't have answers as to why we don't have it? This is a shame. I bought my Charge 3 in April (and then its replacement in June) after my Charge 2 simply stopped being able to communicate with the app. Then I was told by my retailer my extended warranty had been voided "because fitbit wants your money."  Now the one feature that might make this sub-par tech worth the nightmare it"s caised me is seemingly never coming?

I think it's time I found a nes eco system. Fare well Fitbit. It was great while it lasted.

I purchased the Alta hr. I’m a respiratory therapist and I was also really hoping to use the clock on there to get vitals on my patients as well, but the screen only stays on for 3-6 seconds. If you’re able to make the screen time longer for the smart watch versions, why not also the charge, inspire, Alta, etc?

I just purchased a Charge 3 not realizing the screen display was only 3 seconds. I plan to return mine to the store if there is no option to change this.

Sadly, there is no option to change it and Fitbit said they weren't going to.

I went straight back to the shop and returned the watch. It wasn't worth the money you pay for it.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Hey everyone,

I have been having troubles with my charge 3 for quite some time and Fitbit is finally offering to do something about it.

I have the option to either recieve a new Charge 3, at no cost or upgrade to a different model and get it 50% off.

I am a nurse and need something with a second hand timer for taking vitals. I am hesitant to give Fitbit any more of my money, but I'm considering moving to a different model that has the screen timeout.

Does anyone have opinions on different models? Or even different brands that can offer the screen timeout?

Thank you!

It appears we know why nothing was being done, now. Fitbit is being bought by google... so they had no incentive to even care, and we all know googlexwont care about existing hardware.

Time to offload my fitbit on eBay I suppose.

Please do adjust the timeout to be longer. I'm recovering from hip replacement surgery and having the stopwatch app open and being able to see how long I'm doing my PT exercises is very important. So weird that this does not exist so long after launch?

Marls000

They have no intention of changing the timeout. If your watch is new, take it back now for a refund and purchase different brand that suits your needs. It's the best thing I didSent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
