Macros in grams in the app

Hey everyone!
I have got a Fitbit Charge 2 and I have already downloaded the app into my iphone. As long as I am tracking the macros, I would appreciate if the app shows me also how many grams of protein, fat and carbs I eat, not only the percentage as it does now. I know I can check it in the dashboard on the internet via my macbook, but I think it would be really useful to make it possible in the app as well. What do you think?

Fitbit food tracking is useless without grams - percentage is nice but useless to many ppl tracking without grams also. Separate meal totals for each macros & daily macros totals.

The food scan is a nice feature but like others, I still will be relying on a different food planner until grams are included.

I am not interested in relative values, I want specific totals. Especially for protein since I want/need to know what I need to do to reach my daily protein goal. Without that the macro-tracking is more or less useless to me and I need another app just for that Smiley Sad

That's what we've been saying for months, but Fitbit does not seem to
care. BTW, I recently found a free app called "Nutrition Information" that
pulls data from the FitBit app and appears to give us what we're looking
for. Shows Protein, fat, fiber and carbs. HTH.

I agree, it's sad that we're just being ignored, especially when it seems that a large population of the fitbit community supports implementing this feature.

Agreed! But a couple other things...

1. Must have grams of each macronutrient... available to see easily *along with* percentages. I'd prefer not to have to go into the settings every time to see the other. It should just be included.

2. Technically, alcohol is a macronutrient. Just because it's not "essential" doesn't mean many of us don't consume it. And calculating alcohol can be a bit challenging, most sites say you can either use those calories/grams as carb or fat...but you have to choose. I believe we should have the option to include it, and ideally, to give us the choice as to where to include it. We should at least be able to see it as a macronutrient, how many grams it is, what percentage of carbs or fat we could use it for, and what percentage of our total calorie intake it is.

Vote +1

***We should be easily able to see the grams *and* the percentages. Please give us the option to see both at one time—would be a shame to see only one or the other, or have to change it over in settings every time***

Only been using Fitbit app for a couple days now and not being able to track set macros is an obvious and immediate pain. I'm implementing a 40/30/30 c/f/p cut on 2400 calories and quickly find myself resorting to other apps that can do this for me. While I greatly admire much of the other nutrition aspects of the Fitbit app, not being able to use my own macro plan really deters me from tracking nutrition with Fitbit. Please listen to me and the many others asking for this change, this is a greatly wanted feature and would go a long way for the Fitbit community.

I feel ur pain. Several releases since I posted this. Especially since the the whole Samsung syncing issue they were having in the summer. If they haven't done it yet, I doubt they will. I don't think they do regular maintenance on thier app. They only respond (ha, ha) when there is a major issue. One would think thus should be a relatively easy fix.

I feel we are bunch of beggars asking for charity. Unbelievable how such a simple request is ignored.

Hey fitbit guys, I'm out. No need for this feature. As soon as my fitbit watch breaks, I'm not coming back.

Meanwhile all fitbit does is killing the competition by acquiring competing e-paper startups such as Pebble and Vector.

Dunno about you guys, but I had enough from this company. Have fun chasing the mirage.

I've been looking through the message boards only to find that this has been an ongoing problem that people have been preaching literally for years now. It is incredibly discouraging to hear the unheard cries of people to feel such helplessness towards what seems to be such an easy fix.

Does anyone know if there is another route we can take to send this message to the developers so that someone can finally see this?

Am I wasting my time or do we just keep begging for change and hoping that a moderator or admin eventually stumbles upon on this thread?

YES!! we. need. the grams!! Even better, allow us to enter our macro GOALS in grams with tracking i.e. "23g protein under" / "6g fat over". I've seen through other posts this suggestion of macros in grams was made over year ago already! Please FitBit!!

As another poster here mentioned, when looking over older posts this had been a feature requests for years with the most moderator/official fitbit  interaction being "post this to the  correct form for people to vote" only for it to be completely ignored.

No one likes being annoying or sounding like a broken record, but it is really starting to feel like this is how we have to start behaving in order to get any attention from moderators and Fitbit devs.

There is a strong desire for this, there is a strong use case for it, and being ignored is starting to get infuriating.

I’m not even worrying about tracking food on Fitbit - I’ll keep using my free MFP app for food tracking bcz calories in vs calories out
are all that matter to this Charge 2.

what a joke this it and a total waste of time.

Fitbit does not care about what it's customers are aksing for or they would have added the macros/ grams feature by now instead of just laughing at everyone asking pretty please since April of 2017

They don't care

I agree completely!!  To see grams is already in the log on the website.  This seems like an oversight no to include it in the app too.  I've been reading these threads and it seems people have been asking for this for a while.  Why doesn't Fitbit just do a few code strokes a make it happen.  Really low hanging fruit Fitbit.

I currently track all of my Macros (Carbs, Fat, Protein) throughout the day per the request of my personal trainer. I love the phone app however, I would love to see the Macros nutrients in grams vs percentages or both as the grams are the most important when calculating macros. A quick view on the summary section where I add my food, would allow me to use one app only without having to switch in and out of my personal computer or webpage on my phone. Can you please add this option in the future?

Seeing the percentages is great, but I know there's a huge community of keto dieters out there and the best thing is to see grams to track your macros. Being able to see both would be great since I prefer the Fitbit app for every other feature over the other tracking apps I use.

Just so you all know fitbit admit they don't look to adopt any users suggestions until it gets over 1000 likes !

Great idea. The one thing I think that is missing from the app to date.
